Bender's Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Bender's is always one of the best restaurants for any occasion. We went to celebrate a birthday, so dinner and drinks. There was six of us in our party, each of us got a different meal, and each of us said it was one of the best meals we have had in awhile. The atmosphere is great. Would recommend it to a friend for any occasion.
Always a wonderful treat to eat at Bender's! Whenever we are near Canton we try to stop in for a meal. The Halibut a la Foley is to die for, the sushi grade tuna also amazing. And the Bender's fries!!! Awesome. We were celebrating my birthday and our anniversary so our waitress, Penny, brought us a sundae with their homemade chocolate peanut butter sauce - think Reece's Cup turned into a decadent sauce. Yum!! Can't say enough good things about this place and Penny was an outstanding server (as they all are). Will definitely look for a reason to get to Canton again soon!
The service here was great. Very friendly professional, knowledgeable staff. Food was brought out quick and hot. Speaking of food...it was outstanding. Can tell they truly serve fresh seafood/ fish and they know how to cook it! Meals here are pricey but definately worth it. We were not the biggest fan of the atmosphere though. Benders is known for its historic building and fresh seafood. The restaurant and building have a very neat history, its a beautiful place but its not as comfortable as we like. Kind of feels like im at grandmas house. I think some updates wouldn't be bad, especially the carpet. I think the tin ceiling amplifies the noise in the room. If its busy ir can get pretty loud.
Bender's is exemplary . FRESH fish, "tomatos" and their "fries" are true throughout the year. For the past 30 years I have maneuvered trips to the area just to eat here.
The reccomendation list above should include "fresh fare", "historic quality", "superb service".
The high ceilings and marble walls bring to mind eating in a knight's dining hall, however the food has always been, excuse me, fit for King and Queen.
I can't wait to return.
Benders is a favorite of ours; it’s a romantic; historical; fun; comfortable place with many choices of great food & wine. The owners are never to busy to stop by & greet their guest & the staff is like family❣️ Truly a gem of restaurants
This was our anniversary and we wanted to visit somewhere new to us. It was our first time at Benders and we both thought it was very enjoyable. I loved the way they prepared fried potatoes. Prices were reasonable and our server seemed happy that we were there.
The whole experience was excellent. While my wife and I had been there numerous times my son had not. We arrived a little early, but were made welcome and were seated immediately. The server (Steve) was friendly, polite and helpful by answering any questions we had. The drinks and salads came quickly and the meals were well presented. The food, as always, was delicious. I would recommend Benders to anyone wanting an upscale dining experience.
