Located in the heart of Brooklyn's Park Slope, Benchmark Restaurant features a New American menu focused on pasture-raised animals and locally-grown produce. Executive Chef Ryan Jaronik has created a diverse menu that melds the traditional and the contemporary with global influences. Featured is a section of à la carte steaks and chops offering up to five different cuts, including a 24oz Bone-in Ribeye and an 10oz Filet Mignon. Other favorites include Seared Foie Gras, Seared Diver Scallops and Philly Cheese Steak Empanadas.

Between the '20s & '40s, the space that now occupies Benchmark was used as an icehouse and major way station for goods that that arrived on the banks of the Gowanas Canal. While excavating, several "benchmarks" (surveyor's marks) were found, along with architects' tools, some of which are displayed on the restaurant's walls. Benchmark's rich history and naturally rustic interior is enhanced by warm exposed brick, arched windows and spacious garden seating.

    The brunch menu includes pancakes, French toast, and eggs, as well as typical lunch items. The service and the food were excellent. This is our fifth time having Saturday or Sunday brunch, and the food and the service were always good.

    We are frequent patrons of Benchmark and have always enjoyed our dining experiences. However, this time was different. The food varied from delicious to dried out. The service was slow, but that was understandable because they had a large party and service has been slow everywhere lately. The killer was the surcharge on the bill for using a credit card without any notice or warning. it will be a long time before we return to Benchmark and only if they change the surcharge policy.

    The food here was great. Amazing steak. It took a little long to take our order but overall we really liked it. Beautiful outdoor tent seating area. We will be going back.

    One of our favorites spots!! Food is always great! Always get the scallops (without the prosciutto). We always sit inside so it’s very quiet. Over all great food and experience!

    We had such a lovely dinner at Benchmark. We ate outside, where there was an overhead covering and the tables were spaced out in a very comfortable way. The food was absolutely delicious (we got the porterhouse and Brussels sprouts) and cooked perfectly. Our waiter was so kind and brought us a cookie dough egg roll for our celebration (it was warm, tasty comfort in dessert form). It was a truly wonderful dining experience.

    I love this restaurant! I've come here many times and it is always a great experience. The food is delicious. I love sitting in their outdoor tent area. I've been for brunch and dinner and both are great. They should be shifting over to their summer menu soon and I am excited for their new cocktail list. They had a watermelon lemonade vodka drink and I miss it!! Hope it comes back. :)

    Easy to reserve, tucked in a beautiful area & nice neighborhood, great service, nice ambiance, perfect for our business meal w/ clients. Order the Caesar salad as a starter, House made freshly baked croutons—best ever! Filet medium rare was cooked to perfection. Brussel sprouts were also the best I’ve ever had. We will be back!

    As always a memorable evening at Benchmark. Started with a delicious appetizer: seared scallops over a truffle risotto and then filet mignon that was cooked to absolute perfection. The welcoming and attentive service just added to the great evening. Excellent all around!

    I don't know what was better, the food or the service. I went to celebrate my anniversary there, and they greeted us the champagne on the house to celebrate! Such a kind and thoughtful touch. I got the duck and it was cooked to perfection. My fiancé got the steak and it was so tender and juicy. Drinks were amazing as well. I loved this spot, for sure will be coming back soon! Highly recommend if you are looking for a cozy date night, or even some drinks with friends.

    The steaks were cooked to perfection. The flavor was also wonderful. The tent dining is a bit under the mark as far as decor. But did not bother me whatsoever. We will definitely go back!

    Took my mother to Benchmark for Mother’s Day , she loved the beet and burrata salad and ox tail sandwich (and it’s hard to please my mother )) , so all in all she was pleased with my choice and Mother’s Day was a success for once . Great ambiance and noise level low enough to have a conversation

    We are regulars at Benchmark. They were busy last night and service was slow - from getting menus, drinks and entrees. Waiter was apologetic and comp’ed kids Shirley temples. Food wasn’t typical standard - still tasty but salmon was a bit over done and missing creme fraiche with dollop of roe. Steaks were good (not great like usual). Veggie chop good but a bit sadly presented.

    Excellent service! The quality and taste of the food and drinks was absolutely great. For apps we ordered the beet and goat cheese salad, lobster bisque, scallops. For mains we had the filet mignon, NY strip steak with the Brussel sprout esquites and potato purée. I would love to go back again for a special occasion.

    We visited Benchmark for brunch and enjoyed decent food. We ordered two appetizers. The steak and cheese empanadas were flavorful and crispy. The king crab hush puppies were a little bland. Our sandwiches did not disappoint. The oxtail meat was spiced just right. The BLAT’s chicken was moist and delicious. The items on the menu that we wouldn’t order again were the drinks. The flavors weren’t crisp enough, and almost seemed watered down. Overall, while we might come back, we’ll try other restaurants in the area first.

    First time here - enjoyed eating in the tent area outdoors. Food was lovely; service was really excellent - friendly and welcoming, without being cloying. We had a steak dish, a duck dish, and a fish dish - and all of us were very happy with our meals.

    What an amazing experience! My dad had come from out of town to visit our baby for the first time. We decided on benchmark to celebrate him seeing our baby and his birthday that had passed being in Florida. They really went out of their way to make it such a calm and wonderful experience for us. The food was incredible, very attentive service, quiet, we got wet burgers, Brussels, crab stuff sole and we had two amazing desserts. We love it all! 10/10 will go back and recommend

    The food and service were excellent. They have such great heating outside that we were all comfortable with our coats off even though it was a chilly night. Don't miss the scallop appetizer, the kale Greek salad or the porterhouse. The dessert choices, though delicious, could have been better0there were only 2 choices.

    An average Brooklyn place, meaning that its a fair choice, but it's promoted as an outstanding experience. I love Brooklyn, but it can get a little to overboard when it comes to "hyping" a place.
