Superb "hidden" gem in Nomad. Amazing dry-aged tender beef never disappoints. Climate and service can be optimized but the meal speaks for itself. We'll be back!
Excellent experience for a business lunch with a price fix you can not beat in Central Manhattan.
We recently had a family dinner here while visiting New York from Australia and we loved it! Service was awesome, food fabulous & a great wine list. Our waiter Nick was so helpful & great to talk to.
The food is fantastic, I have been here several times with both clients and friends and everything here is excellent and the service is impeccable..
Pleasant surprise for the first time dining at Ben & Jack's. Great value for the money. Food was very good, as was the service and helpful wait staff. Highly recommend for the luncheon special on the weekend. Will definitely be back.
It ended up to be really expensive and the quality of meat was absolutely not worth the price.
I eat steak very often, I cook it myself at home with sous-vide and their ribeye medium rare was not juicy, it was very dry, too much burned and meat was definitely good quality.
Never disappointed at Ben & Jacks ! Timmy(our Waiter) and Zorro(manager) made us feel like family once again . The staff here at B&J's are the best . And a shout out to Vegum behind the bar . The 1.50 happy hour oysters is just a plus to the superb porterhouse steaks that are always cooked to perfection . Followed up by a bowl of schlag with a dessert tray and you cant go wrong ! We will always be back to Ben and Jacks as are go to New York city restaurant. Thanks Zorro and Timmy for a great night , For Steaks this is the place to go , 10 stars plus.
Steaks were tasteless.staff seemed to want to get us out as quick as possible.no check backs at all.very expensive for very average meal.
Outstanding meal as usual. Great steak, clans and potato’s!
Mike at the bar is the best!
Nice place to meet friends as it quiet enough to have nice conversations. Good food and service but expensive as most steakhouses are.
Great steak and sea food .
The atmosphere was amazing
The staff was very accomodating
A great experience
Best steak I’ve had in a long time. Great staff!
The best steak I’ve had in New York. The bacon is a must as a starter along with the sesame tuna. Rib eye was a large piece and had that dry aged flavor many steak houses fail to offer. The service was outstanding and I'll definitely go back.
I usually don't write reviews but when a place makes me feel beyond special, it's a must. Dined on Friday night and everyone from the hostess to the manager made us feel comfortable. We were thinking of ordering off the restaurant week menu but the waiter recommended the porterhouse for 2. Oh boy was he right! The steak was perfectly cooked and had a mesmerizing aroma. The cream spinach and mac was perfect! Not too salty and full of flavor. Phenomenal services, great food, well crafted wine list, and friendly staff. I will definitely be coming back and recommending to my friends.
I took my 13 year old daughter her for her Birthday. We had a party of 7 and we were put in a private room. My kids were allowed to be kids without disturbing anyone else. Our server was the best server that I had in a long time. The meals are pricey however it was okay for a special occasion.
We live in the neighborhood and this was our first time to Ben & Jack's Steakhouse. It was also a birthday celebration which was FANTASTIC. The manager, hostess/coat check, bartender, and our server Timmy were all knowledgeable and very friendly. We started with a dozen LI Oysters, which may have been the best I've ever had.Caesar and Beefsteak Mozzarella salads were next. For our main course the Filet Mignon, Pan Seared Diver Sea Scallops, and the Porterhouse Steak for 2. Everything was cooked to perfection.Finished off with a beautiful birthday multiple dessert plate. The plentiful martini's and Timmy's wine selection were just great. Limoncello and Grand Marnier finished up a perfect evening. They are now my local Steakhouse of choice. Looking forward to my next dinner there!!
Have been the restaurant a few times now. Always enjoy the meal, service and ambiance. Mostly go when it's restaurant week but have also been there when it wasn't. Definitely well worth it during restaurant week. Glad to see that their restaurant week menu was updated. Everything was delicious except dessert.
Ben and Jack's never disappoints. We've been going there for 9 years, and the quality is superb.
All in all a decent meal. Still would prefer Ruth Chris Steakhouse in comparison & my friends who dined with me agreed
We had a Restaurant Week lunch for 4. Although the restaurant was nearly empty (just one other small party) and despite the fact that one of my friends is a long-time regular, we were given a bare minimum of attention by the staff. Once we declined alcohol (being in the middle of a work day), the (rather scant to begin with) warmth in the service evaporated completely and we were attended to with the attitude of polite sufferance.
The choice of appetizers was between a chicken & rice soup and a tired, generic green salad. Almost any fast-food cafe in the neighborhood invests a lot more creativity into its basic salads - and much more care into the quality of the ingredients.
We ordered veal chop, filet mignon, and lamb chops. All meat was offered with the same sides: mashed potatoes and boiled broccoli, damped on the plates without a glimmer of a thought. The veal was perfect, the rest - how should I put it? There was nothing wrong with the meat, it was just so... OK - and not an iota above.
Overall impression - tolerable, dull, utterly forgettable experience.
We have come to expect more from New York steakhouses.
Had a prix fix option available that was great
We tried this restaurant for Restaurant Week. Overall it was a great restaurant. I ordered the half roasted chicken with potatoes and broccoli. I know it’s a streak restaurant but due to religious purposes I don’t eat steak so I was ever grateful that there a chicken option. My friend loves streak and when I saw the chicken option I was like “yea, let’s go check it out”. It was a lot of food, so it was worth the required $29 for lunch. I was stuffed to the max. My favorite was the pecan pie! I love desserts and the pecan pie was the best! Thank you for a great time and experience
Can't tell anything bad - everything was amazing!! Simply love this place!!
Restaurant week 2018
Good food and service. It doesn’t get much better than that.
This restaurant was amazing! I felt comfortable they treated me so nice. The food was fantastic! Full of bursting flavors even the vegetables. I give it a 5 star! I'm pregnant and had to order my steak well done and it was as delicious as when I order it medium well. Well done was still nice and soft and delicious. The desert was to die for. NY cheesecake yummy! Thank you for a great dinning experience and ambience
Excellent service. Unmatched to anywhere I've eaten lately.
One huge problem....there is only one bathroom! Had to wait in line forever
It was ok. As steak houses go, for the price, I was expecting something more elegant.
Great Restaurant week deal. They include $40 per bottle wine specials which in this case was a Coppola Cabernet. Three course meal for $42, you can’t beat that.
Service was AMAZING! Went for restaurant week and it was just average. Baked clams were salty, steak was cooked to perfection and cheesecake seemed a little stale. Also bought the lobster mac and cheese and it lacked seasoning. Servers made the experience worthwhile.
The service was good, atmosphere was good, but the food was terrible, they didn’t even try. Appetizer salad was literally salad leaves, without any topping, dressing, flavor, what so ever. Fairly disappointed, especially compared to other restaurants that take restaurant week seriously.
It's a steakhouse... how do you serve poor quality meat?? Our steak for 2 was loaded with tough silver skin which made it tough to eat. The place is dirty and the service was meh. The restaurant wasn't packed for 7:30 pm on Saturday night which is why I at least expected better service since the food wasn't worth it. The reason I gave 2 stars for the food is because I liked the creamless creamed spinach. Also, we ordered 2 steaks for 2 and the other one was okish.
Our waiter did the weirdest and most inappropriate thing when picking up our check after we signed it, he opened it up while it was still laying on our table and looked at it for a good 30 to 40 seconds. I think he was checking how much tip we left? I regret leaving 20% because it wasn't worth it and then that happened! $444 dollars wasted! Never ever ever again will I eat at this restaurant!
This restaurant is great. The food is amazing and the service is fantastic. The professionalism is great
Ordered the bacon slices which were just giant slabs of fat with no meat for $5.95 a slice and a steak for 4 at $203. Steak had no flavor whatsoever and was a complete waste of money. Should have walked out right away when I saw place was empty. Never again!
Filet was excellent. It was large and could have been split among 2 of us. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Nice wine selection. Cocktail selection could be improved.
Sorry to say the Chicken Parm left a lot to desire. The menu stated choice of sauce. I was only given 1 option. The tomato sauce was bland, tasted if a can of Hunts Sauce was opened and added. Reheating it the next night after adding some spice to the mix didn't help. I've eaten at your place before and loved it. My sisters steak was good but not worth the money. Sorry Ben and Jack.
Disappointed since we have been there the last two Christmas’ and everything was good this was a 180 turn for the worse.
Maybe new chef certainly untrained wait staff
The service was atrocious. The waiters were never available and the ice cream had freezer burn. Absolutely awful. I do multiple business dinners a week and I would never go back and would tell people to avoid this place
