Belvedere Inn Restaurant and Bar Ratings and Reviews
This is a Lancaster treasure for many reasons. Historic building with cozy, personable atmosphere with a healthy dash of humor and professionalism. My 50th Birthday was extra special with their varied touches from a table setting with a personalized birthday card to the whole staff making me feel celebrated.
The chef clearly enjoys the art of creating delicacies that are innovative and beautifully plated for any foodie to savor in a relaxed atmosphere.
My ONLY issue, which is minor, but important, is that meat is quite prevalent - even in the vegetable side dishes - and being a vegetarian fell as a huge disappointment as I realized, only after ordering, that the balsamic braised cabbage included pancetta, which I did not realize was an Italian bacon. I'm hoping that at my next visit I will be able to prevent another "mis-bite" by informing my server first (which I neglected to do this time).
I love The Belvedere with its welcoming, warm atmosphere where people share their love of quality cuisine!
First time at The Belvedere Inn, and l enjoyed the evening. I had the filet mignon, my wife the mako shark and both were delicious. Soup and salad were fresh and tasty. Our quiet table in the corner provided an excellent setting for a romantic dinner. Prompt, friendly service from the staff was consistent throughout the meal. Another trip to sample more of the menu will happen upon our return to downtown Lancaster.
We have been to the Belvedere Inn on a few occasions. This latest was for my wife's birthday and for a party of six. As was expected, the service was excellent and so was the food. We had a marvelous time and will go again in the near future. Always a very pleasant experience.
Great mid-week dinner date location! I had the Chillean Sea Bass en Papillote ($35) which was absolutely wonderful. The fish and vegetables are baked all together in a paper sack which seems to protect all the delicate flavors from escaping in the oven. The waitstaff opens the sealed bag in front of you and you will be amazed by the subtlety and sophistication of the flavors inside. The fish is served with rosemary roasted Yukon potatoes, yellow squash, cherry tomatoes, thyme, white wine and probably a lot of butter! Doesn't that sound good? Lindsey took care of us perfectly. Please ask for her. Oh, I almost forgot: Taylor at the bar makes a perfect cosmo.
We have eaten here several tomes and we have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the service is always friendly, professional and efficient. Our group enjoyed a variety of meal including seafood, beef and Italian. Everyone raved about their meals. One of the people in the group stated he thought his meal was perhaps the best meal he had ever eaten.
A classic, delightful, "old school" fine dining experience. They took the extra effort to call me to verify my wife's name so that a "Happy Anniversary" card could be waiting for us at our table. Complimentary glasses of champagne were also brought out to us, unsolicited. A wonderful experience.
We were treated nicely from the less than a minute seating, to excellent service and great tasting food. Our waitstaff was friendly, courteous, genuine and timely! Kept the dishes moving, food warm and clean up quickly all with no rushing. Loved this place and already have recommended it.
We had a very nice dinner with a WONDERFUL waiter whose name is Josh. He was super friendly, had a great sense of humor and was very attentive throughout the meal. He was also spot on in his recommendations which we all appreciated. The food was very good but we had hoped for even better in view of the cost. Would definitely give it another try.
Awesome dinner gathering with friends. Bar is a great hangout pre-dinner and food was absolutely amazing. Management team is awesome. They helped me create a memorable outing for business supporters and friends who were in town with me for a women's conference.
We were first timers there. We were celebrating our 28th anniversary. The staff took care of us in every aspect. The music was fantastic and the ambiance incredible. The Belvedere took a special night for us and made it a night to remember. We will be visiting them again and again. Thank you very much.

We celebrated our anniversary here. I had requested that roses and a chilled bottle of Moscata be on the table when we were seated; They nailed it! The wine was perfect and my wife loved the roses.
Our waitress (Lindsey) was perfect, and the food was very tasty!
We couldn't have asked for better evening -thanks Belvedere!
I would highly recommend!
Not the Belvedere we remember--my wife is a corp taster for Hershey Foods and we tend to be a little finicky. Special martini with goat cheese olives had an oil slick on top of the drink. She is used to "wild" drinks and we get the designer martini thing but the taste combinations of this one was "off".
Salmon app was good, salad portion of that was good. Lobster bisque had no lobster--maybe it was pureed in but did not seem like it.
I had the short ribs stroganoff--the pieces of meat were very small-looked ground up but very tasty-noodles were cooked correctly.
Wife was disappointed in Mahi-Mahi special--fish was way overcooked--combination of flavors was a little challenging. We ordered the pot of creme dessert--should have sent that back. The white portion was glutinous--wife tasted a refrigerator after taste-maybe it was around too long. We ate a little and left it--Lindsay was an excellent server.
Thanks for asking, our 34th anniversary at the Belvedere was memorable but not the way we wanted--we should have stuck with the grilled caesar--our favorite.
