Belvedere Inn Restaurant and Bar Ratings and Reviews
Highlight here is grilled romaine. Must have! Most entrees are made with wine sauces. Asked for one made without. Was told one of the specials could be made without sauce. Billed as Walleye, which waiter said was like Chilean sea bass. Not! Fish was totally dried out. Waiter immediately offered alternative of salmon. I ordered it rare and it was perfect.
The Beef short ribs were amazing....melted in your mouth like butter!!! Great service and on this visit noise level was high but we chalked that up the the holiday season and larger groups but it in no way affected the food, service and ambiance (the restaurant was tastefully decorated)...Highly recommend.
We were there for Lisa's birthday. They had our table ready early when we arrived earlier. The Inn is decorated beautifully for the holidays!! There was a "Happy Birthday" card waiting at our table - what a nice touch. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT!!! From the soup and Belvie bread to the desserts - everything was really great! The staff works very hard to make everything great! Thank You Belvie Inn - we will return!!!
What a great night! The Belvedere team excelled as always. We were warmly greeted at the door, chatted with the bartender before being seated and experienced excellent service from Josh throughout our meal. The food was excellent, creative flavor combinations and beautiful presentations. Everyone at the table complimented their chosen items. The Chilean Sea Bass feature was an excellent nod to seasonal cuisine and was quite delicious.
Before we ordered I made a point of telling the server that I have a dairy intolerance, an allergy. He said that the Chef would be more than able to accommodate my disability. The server even joked about home some patrons wanted to substitute certain items for an expensive entree. I ordered. He served me filet with a side of some sort of cheese and potato dish. I tasted the side dish assuming that it was not dairy; I was wrong. They substituted another side dish that did not contain dairy...it took quite a while.
Later that evening, I suffered the effects of ingesting dairy
We ate at the Belvedere Inn on Thanksgiving and we were also celebrating a birthday.
We were seated in the upstairs dining room, which seemed a bit quieter than the dining room downstairs.
The restaurant was beautifully decorated for the upcoming holiday season.
The entire experience was perfect. The service and food were excellent.
We will definitely go back to the Belvedere Inn when we go back to Lancaster.
I'm very glad we chose this restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner! It was perfect--wonderful atmosphere, cozy, outstanding service, lovely Christmas seasonal decorations inside and out, and delicious food. We had the crab dip as a starter, and it was excellent, served with crostini. I had the beef stroganoff, a specialty here, and it was wonderful, full of flavor, with very tender beef. For dessert, I had the Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee, and it did not disappoint. The ambience here is elegant but not stuffy. Really appreciated the warm, friendly service from all.
This is a Lancaster treasure for many reasons. Historic building with cozy, personable atmosphere with a healthy dash of humor and professionalism. My 50th Birthday was extra special with their varied touches from a table setting with a personalized birthday card to the whole staff making me feel celebrated.
The chef clearly enjoys the art of creating delicacies that are innovative and beautifully plated for any foodie to savor in a relaxed atmosphere.
My ONLY issue, which is minor, but important, is that meat is quite prevalent - even in the vegetable side dishes - and being a vegetarian fell as a huge disappointment as I realized, only after ordering, that the balsamic braised cabbage included pancetta, which I did not realize was an Italian bacon. I'm hoping that at my next visit I will be able to prevent another "mis-bite" by informing my server first (which I neglected to do this time).
I love The Belvedere with its welcoming, warm atmosphere where people share their love of quality cuisine!
First time at The Belvedere Inn, and l enjoyed the evening. I had the filet mignon, my wife the mako shark and both were delicious. Soup and salad were fresh and tasty. Our quiet table in the corner provided an excellent setting for a romantic dinner. Prompt, friendly service from the staff was consistent throughout the meal. Another trip to sample more of the menu will happen upon our return to downtown Lancaster.
We have been to the Belvedere Inn on a few occasions. This latest was for my wife's birthday and for a party of six. As was expected, the service was excellent and so was the food. We had a marvelous time and will go again in the near future. Always a very pleasant experience.
Great mid-week dinner date location! I had the Chillean Sea Bass en Papillote ($35) which was absolutely wonderful. The fish and vegetables are baked all together in a paper sack which seems to protect all the delicate flavors from escaping in the oven. The waitstaff opens the sealed bag in front of you and you will be amazed by the subtlety and sophistication of the flavors inside. The fish is served with rosemary roasted Yukon potatoes, yellow squash, cherry tomatoes, thyme, white wine and probably a lot of butter! Doesn't that sound good? Lindsey took care of us perfectly. Please ask for her. Oh, I almost forgot: Taylor at the bar makes a perfect cosmo.
We have eaten here several tomes and we have never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the service is always friendly, professional and efficient. Our group enjoyed a variety of meal including seafood, beef and Italian. Everyone raved about their meals. One of the people in the group stated he thought his meal was perhaps the best meal he had ever eaten.
A classic, delightful, "old school" fine dining experience. They took the extra effort to call me to verify my wife's name so that a "Happy Anniversary" card could be waiting for us at our table. Complimentary glasses of champagne were also brought out to us, unsolicited. A wonderful experience.
We were treated nicely from the less than a minute seating, to excellent service and great tasting food. Our waitstaff was friendly, courteous, genuine and timely! Kept the dishes moving, food warm and clean up quickly all with no rushing. Loved this place and already have recommended it.
