Food was subpar especially for price. View is amazing.
Our entrees were excellent, once they were served. There were very few customers when we arrived, our table was set and yet the hostess wanted us to sit and wait in the lobby...what!? I explained to her that my friend walked with a cane and therefore we were going to sit at our table immediately. Our waiter was very polite and friendly, but oh, so slow! It took forever to get our entrees after waiting and asking three times just for the bread and butter. Then we had to ask for the check twice and waited ages for it to arrive! Really bad experience service-wise in spite of plenty of help running around and very few customers. When we got our car from the valet my keychain had been broken and all keys put on one ring...at least I did get all my keys! This place desperately needs to upgrade its service people!
Service and food was very slow. Waiter seemed nice but working hard in what seemed like an unorganized brunch.
The dining room was not ready for 11:30a service. We waited for almost 30 minutes. Manager recognized this and served us a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. Food was 4 okay, pricey, but par for this hotel.
We had a truly wonderful experience! Will go to El Encanto every time we visit friends in Santa Barbara! It was the perfect place to treat them to lunch, enjoy each other and share a delicious meal. Our server, Mario was delightful!
Good food and setting. We were severely overcharged for the fine and we realized the error when after we left. We called and asked the restaurant to make the correction but we were completely ignored. The waiter Mario was a smooth talker but charged us $28 per glass of house rose wine, instead of $13. There is definitely an attitude of superiority from the staff, and I doubt that we would ever go back.
One of the best views of the city. Great food and attentive service. Not rushed. Amazing desserts.
A must for anyone visiting Santa Barbara!
The place is beautiful but we didn’t really enjoy our meals. I had stir fry noodle dish which came complete with uncooked tofu which was pretty off putting and the waiter didn’t seem surprised to be taking back a full bowl. The staff was very nice though
The dinner menu needs to be expanded. Bread should be served with water instead until after ordering the meal.
Superb service and lovely ambience
Beautiful setting up in the hills. Loved the very chill energy. Staff was the highlight. Would recommend for special occasions or apps and drinks at sunset
This was our first time for Sunday brunch. We loved it! So many great choices, great price and loved the bottomless Bellinis, yum!
Really enjoyed our brunch here. The space is beautiful and the food was very good.
The tomahawk steak was fabulous- the cauliflower side was also amazing- mashed potatoes ok…great views!
You have the best staff possible! From the moment we dropped our car until the moment we got it back we felt in paradise thanks to the attentiveness of each single person that took care of us.
Our server, and I apologize for not remembering his name, deserves the outmost praise and compliments. He is truly outstanding! Please never let him go-never ever! Congratulations also to the chef for the delicacies we enjoyed.
Food only fair and service only adequate but excellent views and ambience
Environment was beautiful set above Santa Barbara. The food tasted as beautiful as it looked. The wait staff was amazing.
The view and ambiance are simply remarkable - on a balmy-, on a wintry-, on a stormy-, on any night. And the team are kind, gracious, attentive and charming. Food quite good - highlights were brussel sprouts and sautéed mushroom sides, less inspiring were mains, including chicken (it was fine, it wasn't more). Only disappointment were the drinks - while clever (lots of ingredients, including alcohol), they left us feeling like we would have been better off spending the $18 per on, well, something with alcohol.
Wonderful setting and amazing food. Belmont does not disappoint.
Love this place. Definitely suffering from Covid in that their quite understaffed, but we just tried to remain patient. Looking forward to returning.
To evaluate tonight's unusually terrible meal would do an injustice to the traditional great chefs and service. The staff were tremendously overwhelmed but bravely tried to follow through. We'll certainly return (as we have for over 20 years and different ownership) but wait a few months for things to settle down...
Price markup on wine 4x Market was excessive
Views of Coastline of Santa Barbara were unique
Menu was pedantic
Service knowledge above average pop n de
Great place always good food and great service! Always try to visit every time we are in Santa Barbara
We revisited El Encanto to celebrate our 46th anniversary. The chef created a cute little decorated fruit/chocolate plate for us. The food was amazing! I felt so sorry for our obviously experienced server because we could tell they were understaffed (like a lot of places are now post-pandemic), but that just gave us more time to enjoy the wonderful view and wine!!!
The service was on point. When we arrived the staff was welcoming. Jacob provided us a fabulous table for our dining pleasure. Carlos provided wonderful suggestion as we never dined here before. We ordered to tomahawk steak with the two sides. The steak was prepared to perfection. Compliments to the chef. The sides cauliflower and Brussels sprouts were delicious. Had to have room for dessert. The tiramisu was the final touch along with the chocolate covered strawberries for our anniversary.
The worst food. Really actually unbelievably bad. Especially the seafood. The Wait staff was nice but insufficiently trained for a nice dining experience
We were seated 45 minutes late for our 8:30 reservation and the bar took a very long time to get a drink with flustered staff that made it uncomfortable. It would have been fine if they offered a quick glass of wine and apologized but just felt hectic and slightly unapologetic. I know staffing is hard right now but just felt like it could have been handled better
This is the second time we celebrate our wedding anniversary. Few restaurants offer gourmet dishes with sweeping views of Chanel Islands, not just in Santa Barbara, but in the West Coast. We had good selection of live music with Spanish guitar.
Gracious host and attentive server, and generally well-behaved guests make the dining experience delightful.
It was a magical summer night at a beautiful and historic hotel with the best view in town. Service was A+ dinner was delicious. Bread was so good! We live a mile from here and felt like we were on vacation!
This was a beautiful evening, good food, great service !!
Had a great and surprising meal on the terrace with views. Our server Lisa was great and we will definitely be back!
Very nice ….would go back again
At lunch we experienced poor service and mediocre preparation and taste of food.
A very limited menu with high prices. A very poor dining event for us.
Amazing view, super service, and great food. A definitely desirable spot.
We had such a delightful time, I cannot begin to say how much I appreciate that the waiters will call us by name and are so courteous and professional. There are so few places anymore they actually have customer service and I am so delighted that this restaurant still has incredible service. The food was so amazing as well, we look forward to going back soon
Limited menu but the food was well presented and prepared. Prices are high, but you are paying for a view. Service was not on par with the pricing. We had to repeatedly ask for a number of items.
I think they must be understaffed. The hostess was lovely but overwhelmed. We arrived early and were ushered into the bar area to wait for our table. Each table in the bar area needed to be bussed. We sat at a table and even though there were 2 employees behind the bar, no one came to greet us or take a drink order. After sitting there for 20 minutes, one of the bar tenders -- on his way to the kitchen I'm guessing -- mentioned over his shoulder that this was not a full service section and that we would need to order at the bar should we want a drink. When we finally got our table, even though we had a reservation we did not have an assigned server, but were rather passed around to whoever could be bothered to take our order or attend to other needs. Every time we needed something we had to flag someone down. When one server -- in passing by -- asked us if we needed something, I asked a question about the menu. He then informed me that he was not a server and did not know anything about the menu, and didn't I see how slammed he was at the bar. Wow. Not a luxurious experience. Definitely not worth the $$$. It is a pretty place to watch the sunset. Don't expect more than that.
The dining room at El Encanto is beautiful and an incredible setting. Our server Mauricio was absolutely wonderful and very attentive. However, the food was so disappointing. I've heard great things about the food since the hotel reopened after the pandemic but brunch ($500 for four of us) was not good. Wouldn't return for Sunday brunch but probably come for regular breakfast or lunch.
