About Bellini's Ristorante & Bar

Relax and enjoy your own glass of wine among friends and see where your discussions take you. At Bellinis OUR Passion is YOUR Food and YOUR Service.

Bellini's Ristorante & Bar Ratings and Reviews
We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our meal. Food was delicious: we had the fried cheese appetizer, vodka penne, veal parm, and chocolate cake. Our server, Brad, was helpful in choosing wine and menu choices. The price was absolutely reasonable. Thanks for a delightful evening.
With a reservation, we were seated immediately. Ample portions. Salad was big enough for two as were the entrees. We had enough for lunch the next day and more. Three of us had pasta dishes. Two of those could have had more red sauce. Wasn't enough for me or my husband. He got the spaghetti and meatballs. Meatballs were delicious and huge. My eggplant dish was very good but did need more sauce. Next time I will request more. A great find for our out of town guests. Will return.
Good food but the table next to us was a business dinner and very loud. I couldn’t hear my friends across the table from me. We were disappointed bc it was my son’s Birthday and he was really looking forward to the dinner with us his parents and his girlfriend of 5 months
Food was very good. Wide variety of Italian offerings, as well as a bona fide steak menu. We had pasta - linguine with meatballs for me and papardelle bolognese for my wife. Servings are generous. Expect to take some home. The only negative was the noise. The table beside us was beyond loud. They were screaming and howling so loudly that we could not have a conversation at our table. When a table is out of hand, management needs to politely step in for the sake of the other diners.
The ambience was that of a warm place to dine away from the cool evening outside. On entering the building, guests are greeted by a large, warmly lit bar. As we had reservations, we were quickly seated in a tiny side room that looked on to the bar but was otherwise unadorned and bare. The wall within arms length behind me was made of what felt like some kind of cheap plastic imitation of stucco, while the wall that separated us from the bar was made of brick.
The waiter, while not rude, was deliberate in pressing for the expensive items (appetizers, a bottle of wine, and desert after the meal) and eager to make suggestions and get things going. We were not rushed through our meal, but to his credit, he was efficient. Judging from the prices on the menu, I expected carefully curated entrées with expert knowledge from the waitstaff; it was not to be.
We skipped the appetizers and ordered a couple of wine glasses. The warm bread was a meager ration although delightful and the entrée portions surprisingly generous.
When our order arrived, it was somewhere between merely good and very good, yet at $30 - $50 for menu selections, whose quality was on par with Seasons 52 or Cheesecake Factory, the items were overpriced.
If I return, it will not be frequent. I chose this place for variety. While I would like to rave about the place, I can't bring myself to do it. It was good, but it was not that good that I would want to hurry back. All together, my wife and I had three wine glasses and two entrées. Adding a 15% tip, we walked out $118 lighter.
Marvelous specialties, fabulous drinks and service - all around THE BEST in Birmingham. My absolute favorite restaurant, and I bet you money it is/will be yours, too. Cassie's service is superior. Chef Ryan is superb and will prepare to please you!! Thank you so much. I love this place xoxoxoxo
Service was bad, we sat first in front of 2 other couples, they received their food before we did even though they ordered first. As they were finishing their meals we received our entree, our food was cold. I've been here twice before and had great meals, this experience ruined this restraunt for us.
This was our first time coming to Bellini’s and it was absolutely wonderful. Everything from the drinks, to the food, to the dessert. The service was also great! We got the Beef Carpaccio as our appetizer and it was surprisingly delicious and refreshing. I highly recommend it. I had the Chicken Picatta and my husband had the Chicken Marsala. Both of us are almost all of our food, because it was so yummy. Then we shared the bread pudding and it was the best we’d both ever had! Overall everything was phenomenal. Including my Bloody Mary! We will definitely return and recommend to our friends.
Communication is key but food is the reason. We had grouper tacos at the bar - 2 not 3 like the other duck and shrimp ones. Didn’t know. They should say at order. Manager agreed the new creation of red cabbage should be put on it to give it the zing and value needed to justify the kinda pricey price of $24 at happy hour. It was perfect with the cabbage.
Major fault was new bartender actually poured liquor and attempted to make the Bellini signature chocolate martini without chocolate (ran out). WHAT??? So not believing that. Ding. Missed Ally so much; she is THE BEST BARTENDER and was off.
Still love y’all anyway. But, the gals DEFINITELY are better servers than the guys. SORRY. 🌹
We did not enjoy our meal. My husband and I ordered different things but both were extremely bland. We ordered drinks, dinner, ate, and paid the check all within an hour. We had a babysitter so we're hoping for more of an evening out than a quick dinner. Will not go back.
I too just my parents and MIL here for dinner Friday night. We had a WONDERFUL time! Featured 25% Italian red and white wines and 3 dishes. The only one of the three we tried was a grouper and bratwurst feature which was great! We had the charcuterie appetizer and particularly loved one of the three cheeses, although we forgot to ask what it was. :) the two most notable things about the restaurant were the WHITE CHOCOLATE BREAD PUDDING *drools* and our server, Brad! He knew all there was to know about the menu, the wine list, and we are so glad he pushed the bread pudding on us. Best decision we've ever made. I will defitely be back! My only complaint is that I had to refresh my opentable app every 5 minutes to wait for someone to cancel their reservation so I could have their table :)
Bellini's came highly recommended from more than one friend, so we had high expectations. The decor was attractive and welcoming, and we were seated in a side room with only four or five tables with at most four other diners. (There were several diners in other parts of the restaurant and outside on the patio.) Unfortunately we had trouble with conversation as it was too noisy...even in a side room--due to a couple overly joyful and loud diners seated nearby at the bar. My husband and I each had simple dishes --veal parm and chicken parm-- and were surprised that neither was exceptional. Too my astonishment I bit into a crab claw (yes) that was unexpectedly in my pasta sauce. The service was excellent as was the wine list, and these are the things that salvaged the rating.
Its a hit or miss with this place - have been here a ton of times in the last 2 years. My meal this week was poor, the fish was chewy and overcooked. The service was poor as I expect better when you come to a place like this. My recommendation is to sit at the bar and order the bar food.
