Bellini Grill Ratings and Reviews
Mediocre food, at best.
Items not properly explained, about a 180 degree off in one case.
Poor filleting skills table side. Horrendous. Better served to do yourself.
Aggressive, demeaning on the verge of abusive management.
Bartender and server were pleasant, wine was good, but even with that, if there was a 1/2 star it'd be a stretch to give it that.
(almost 200 reservations in open table with no reviews, but this was so bad had to leave one)
It had been a few years since we were last here. Lots of changes since then like the bar. The website was not encouraging though as I was unable to get a lot of information from it; difficult to navigate. We got the small antipasti which could have been alittle bigger for the price. But it did a good job of preparing us for our main course. I got the crab ravioli which were had a very light dough but plenty of crab. However there seemed to be some communication issues between my husband and our server. My husband asked for the duck but when it arrived it was not what he expected. Thinking he was getting a roast breast of duck, he received the duck Ragu with fettuccine. My husband ended up enjoying it very much.
After taking our orders though, our server seemed to either ignore us or suddenly became the FT bartender and never returned to our table. Other servers and possibly the owners took care of us the rest of the evening.
As we are subscribers to the Philly Pops we also received a discount on our meal.
Total disappointment. We waited an hour and 20 minutes from when we arrived to get our food. We told our server that we had an hour and a half before we had to leave for a concert, and he said it would be no problem. I did not expect to have to scarf down my meal in 10 minutes. When the table next to us got their food before us, and had ordered the food well after us, I went to the server and demanded to know why. He said he would go to the kitchen and check on our food. The food was also disappointing. There was no flavor in any dish, and after being told the pasta was all homemade, I had penne that tasted like it came out of a box. With all the choices of Italian restaurants within a couple of blocks, I don’t know how Bellini is still in business. We will not be back.
The service was extremely attentive without being intrusive. The menu is extensive and applies creative twists to classic fare. And the food is superb. There wasn't a single dish in our three course meal for five people that wasn't described by the diners as excellent.
The Bellini Grill is a real find. Highly recommended.
Came her after a concert and they were still serving the Philly City Center Week menu, so was excited to try it. Service was excellent, enjoyed the ambiance especially as I was dining alone. A tad noisy if you want conversation, but still nice. Food was filling, tho my steak had alot of grisel, I would still try it again. Loved the Peach Bellini, complete with a peach!
The cocktail with the restaurant name was nice. I hope it should have been made with the fresh peach juice.
I thought the dish called Saltimbocca would be the veal with Palma ham but this restaurant served with spinach and bechanel sauce between them. It would be better without them to enjoy the harmony of veal and ham. So, I could not say the restaurant is authentic.
I went to Bellini Grill for restaurant week with a few of my friends. We had the best waiter, Anthony, who kept us laughing all night. He gave us great wine recommendations, and the food was amazing!!! The bar staff was also incredibly nice and joked along with us as well. We all had a great time and would definitely go back soon. 10/10 would recommend Anthony!!!!
Our server was knowledgeable and helped us pick an excellent wine to go with our meal. Ravioli was outstanding. The ricotta was like pure cream with fresh basil and light tomatoe sauce it the best dish we ordered. The cyprese appetizer was good. I did not care for my veal dish and would not order again. Gnocchi was in a sauce that tasted like gritty flour. Not good.
My friend and I went for restaurant week and I loved it! The steak was cooked and seasoned wonderfully, and the cheesecake... Was...awesome. I highly recommend both. The waiter was so friendly and everyone worked as a team (the hostess brought our dessert when the waiter was occupied, people would come and check on us and remove plates). I would go there again for sure.
We showed up on a busy Saturday night for a 6:30 pm reservation. The place was busy. The host informed us that we where on the books for Sunday. It was our mistake. Instead of turning us away the host found us seating at the bar. Where we enjoyed a great meal with excellent service. I can not thank you guys enough for your great customer service. We will definitely be returning.
Although we made our reservation through Open Table and the restaurant called to confirm the night before, when we arrived they could not find our reservation. It seems the hostess seated another party at our table and cancelled our reservation. The manager finally resolved the issue, but the hostess was not capable of finding a solution, even though there were a few empty tables. I realize it was very busy since it was restaurant week, but no excuse for losing our reservation. Once seated we had excellent service and the food was great. Will definitely return to Bellini Grill!
The Caesar salad was limp and the cheese minimal. The moon shaped ravioli stuffed with jump lump crab was not the texture and quality of jumbo lump I like. The tiramisu was sample size, but tasty. The ambiance is drab and not updated in years. Service was friendly and efficient.
We visited during restaurant week and were looking forward to an evening out. Everything was disappointing. Our waitress had an attitude. The food was mediocre and definitely wasn’t worth the money. The cheapest bottle of wine which I think was $30 was barely tolerable. I’ve drank $10 bottles that were better than what we had to choose from. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. I was embarrassed that I took my out of town family to this restaurant let alone felt sick that we wasted our money and walked away feeling extremely disappointed. I guess we are spoiled with an AMAZING Italian restaurant in Lancaster.
Their special pomegranate salad was fresh and very tasty. We asked for more dressing and that made it even better. Gnocchi were not too heavy and i enjoyed the Gorgonzola sauce which was very good. Eggplant parmigiana is one of my favorite dishes. The lightness of the eggplant was perfect.
We visited for lunch for January restaurant week. What a great find! I felt like I was back in Italy. First course my dh had a beautiful salad, and I had a home-made soup- shrimp bisque. Both were fantastic. For mains, he had chicken parmesan and I had cheese ravioli. My dh is picky about chicken parmesan since he makes a really great one himself...both get raves. Desserts were the perfect finish...cannoli for me and something chocolate for him. The entire meal as well as service were outstanding. The biggest compliment I can give is that I made a reservation to return next month for dinner for my birthday.
Incompetence from waiter and bartender. Waited for 10 minutes in a basically empty restaurant to ask the water boy to get your waiter. Then the drink the bartender made was lackluster and almost right. My food was bland. Don’t let a history of positive reviews fool you. Maybe it used to be good years ago but not anymore.
The food was incredible! I loved every dish and dessert I tasted. However, there is a $20 corking fee PER BOTTLE OF WINE (not per table), at a BYOB, that is not advertised on their website or menus anywhere. Diner beware! It really put a damper on an otherwise enjoyable experience.
