The food wasn’t good enough. It used to be better back in the day, I wouldn’t go again
The most discrete, classiest restaurant in London. Food, wine and service are to die for. The wild boar ragu was the best I have ever had. Cannot recommend it enough.
This is a very nice traditional restaurant but the service is very French and little standoffish. The clientele are generally older and therefore the ambience is on the quiet and more formal side.
The food was very nice although our steaks were slightly overcooked from the medium well ordered but still very nice.
Another wonderful visit to Bellamy’s. As usual an enjoyable experience. A birthday lunch for my friend who wasn’t disappointed. Attentive service, especially from Luigi who looked after us so well. Food was excellent (Whitbait and Dover Sole) as was the wine. Look forward to next visit soon. Bravo Bellamy’s !!
Very enjoyable evening. Excellent food, very well cooked and presented. A bit noisy despite not being full. Wine grosssly over-priced which spoilt an otherwise delightful occasion
Amazing food and outstanding service!
First time at Bellamy and most definitely not the last, very impressed with the quality of of the service, as well as the food!
As usual everything superb
Luigi on form and brilliant helping everyone
A great evening
An excellent occasion slightly spoilt by a huge party who were noisier than a few other small tables would have been…..but excellent service and food as ever.
First time I'd been to this Mayfair restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's tucked away in a side street just off Berkeley Square, giving the street a sense of calm away from the bustle on most west end streets and Bellamy's itself is a real hidden gem. It's a smart bistro style restaurant, with an immaculate look. We went for the lunch set menu - the terrine was good but the veal main was exceptional, and well accompanied by a thyme jus and potato gratin. Exceptional value for food this good, definitely somewhere on my list to return to.
I went to try this restaurant as it was said a queen's favorite. I am sorry to comment that the food was very under my expectation. We ordered a set menu. Both starter and main were very salty. So we decided not to try dessert as it might have disappoint us. However, the service was great and ambience was private.
Incredible food and service. For the price, most affordable and unique restaurant in the area.
Went for an informal business lunch. Excellent service. Prices fair for the area. Very competent, reliable relatively plain French/English cooking. A bit full of suits at lunchtime - more couple friendly in the evening. Would recommend unreservedly.
Lovely French bistro that is a wonderful find on Bruton Place. Good selection of meat and fish. Our entrees were well prepared, and the service was most attentive.
A lovely find. Having read the reviews I was quite hopeful and having brought Clients for a first lunch, didn't wish to be let down. Service was impeccable, the food was very good with generous portions and the quality of the ingredients, first-class. I'd highly recommend for a ££££'s luncheon.
I’ve been to Bellamy’s many times and it never disappoints. Very good food in a lovely room with first class service and for the quality on offe4 the best value in London.
This excellent restaurant was spoiled by some of its clientele. Taking friends there for part of their Golden Wedding gift it was spoilt by a rowdy group in the bar beforehand. On moving into the restaurant we found, after while that the group had expanded and were crowding us on the next table. They continued being very loud and the management apologised to us but overall there was nothing to be done. A very special evening spoiled. Nevertheless the food was up to the usual excellent standard and enjoyed by us all.
Great food and friendly staffs. Not too noisy and we had a great time catching up with friends
We had a lovely evening and a great table in the corner looking into the restaurant
Service was very good and attentive without being over bearing
Nice quiet spot off the main drag and the restaurant was just right in terms of ambience
Recommend it to anyone also very reasonably priced for Mayfair
A classic French brasserie with excellent service, a measured, comfortable ambience and very good wine list. Not a vegetarian main-course in sight though, so veges be aware.
Excellent food, great atmosphere and very nice and pleasant staff
An OK experience. Service was on the inattentive side - didn't make us feel special. Food was good. A pleasant evening but not somewhere we'd rush back given competition in the area. Would recommend with reservations!
Unfortunately the maitre d bumped into my chair and back 3 times
Overall the service was good though but bumping into one is really really annoying
The partridge was completely raw in the legs as was my neighbour’s.
Soup was delicious as was the Carignan
Very nice atmosphere
The food is consistent (good) as is the service but the staff do not look very happy! Nevertheless, they are welcoming. It is expensive for what it is. No doubt to put off some of the more loud individuals but in these straightened times it seems odd to keep increasing the prices if the idea is to attract loyalty from the regulars. It is quite male orientated. There do not seem to be many female customers at lunchtime. It is good for a business lunch/dinner but I am not sure if I would take my wife there.
It was my wife's birthday so we wanted a pukka place in the West End to celebrate and this restaurant was known to us through Simon Binder ( a restauranteur in his own right ) who also happened to be my wife's cousin.
We were shown to a pleasant table for two, in a room that was reasonably full, mostly male and probably merchant bankers, judging by the obvious 'business lunch' vibe going on around us. That was not a criticism, merely an observation. The linen and layout of the table was spot on.
Two glasses of good Champagne enabling us to quaff as we chose from the table d 'hote menu. Both agreed on the saffron and mussel soup, which was excellent. A decent size mini tureen each full of creamy, fishy and saffrony liquid which with the sour dough bread, was exquisite.
Then, it was on to the duck, cooked with greengages and served in its own jus. We accompanied it with creamed potato and saute of spinach. The potato took time to arrive, which caused a murmur of displeasure but didn't really detract from the main course. I had a glass of Graves, which hit the spot.
I had mentioned, sotto voce, to Luigi, the m'aitre d , that it was a 'birthday', so the chef placed a candle in our shared dessert of red berries with ice creme. I felt this was a tad abstemious and the restaurant could have extended the surprise to include a plate of her own, with candle, as it was her birthday. We also shared a Muscat to accompany the dessert. Coffee - double espresso - was served with a generous bowl of delicious chocolate dragees, which we wolfed down.
The bill ? £135 ish with service. Quite reasonable I feel.
So, on balance, it was a good eating experience. My only criticism is that they were a waiting staff member light, so the intuitive attention, that one needs and looks for - in not having to ask for a refill of water, for example , was not always there. On leaving, the proprietor spoke to me about the meal and was very convivial . A nice touch and I think we will be going back.
Wonderful restaurant! Cucina superlativa. Menù francese con scelta eccezionale di caviale e vini di tutto il mondo. Pesce fresco e cucinato in modo delizioso.
Favorite spot in London
Absolutely excellent, mouthwatering food in discreet, elegant surroundings. Impeccable service. Can't wait to return!
Delightful restaurant experience. Somewhat old school, starched white tablecloths etc, but certainly not stuffy. Superb food and impeccable service. Wine list quite pricey but to be expected in such an establishment. Always good to see the patron, GR dining in his own restaurant. We will return for sure.
This is a superb restaurant with an excellent ambiance and staff who care. It really is a wonderful place in all regards. Highly recommended.
The menu as well as the decor require a minor refresh
Love Bellamy's, never less than perfect
Very quit relaxed dining atmosphere. Good food and service. Excellent for a business lunch or evening meal.
Food was barely ok. Atmosphere was heavy and crowd not friendly. Waiters service was "scared" of customers...
As usual had great lunch at this buzzy restaurant; good menu and food
Just superb and effortless
Well spaced tables and just the right noise level contributed to good ambience.
The best Dover sole in London. And the Prawn Cocktail (don’t be fooled by the name - it could not be further from the 1970s gloop) is excellent. The Isles Flottantes - sublime.
Great restaurant, never disappoints.
Everyone enjoyed the food and overall experience at Bellamy's. The set menu was good value.
