The food at Bellamy's is consistently good. Service is sometimes lacking.
Bartender and drinks were fantastic, very well crafted. Opted for a mix of old favorites and daily special, all were great. Food was pretty good, we both ordered the specials and they lacked a little zest. Tasty, but not so good I am rushing back for them. Needed a little more flavor in my opinion.
I asked for a cozy table for the occasion, and they gave us a nice quiet table so that we were able to enjoy our conversation. The waiter was very nice and the food was good as we expected.
This was my first time at Bellamys in Escondido and I was very impressed. We had reservations for Easter brunch and were seated promptly. The wait staff was very attentive yet not intrusive. Live piano music added a serene ambiance. Our water and French rolls arrived quickly. We didn't order appetizers, and we didn't feel we were waiting that long for our main course, but the waiter came with an apology for "the wait" and free citrus ginger soup on the house! My seafood crepe was delicate, tasty and filling as was my daughter's ham and mushroom crepe. The sides of French fries were delicious. We will definitely be back!
Took a friend to lunch for her birthday. Enjoyed a lovely bottle of wine from the extensive wine list. Service was attentive but not intrusive, and the restaurant was quiet so we were able to talk without shouting. This restaurant is one of my friend's favorites...it was my first visit, but won't be the last.
Always a great place to make a special day more special. This place is great for any occasion.
Our waiter was not attentive at all. He brought us other tables drinks and when our drinks were empty, he was nowhere to be found. He also disappeared when we wanted to order food. We would see him talking to other tables but ignored us.
We enjoyed everything about our meal. Would definitely recommend.

We had been wanting to try this place, and stopped by for a drink before an event at the Arts Center. It is easy walking distance from there. We had an appetizer and drink, and were impressed with the atmosphere, service, and menu. So we went back a couple weeks later for dinner. All the food was excellent, the menu is creative and again our server was great. They made good wine recommendations, and we had a lovely meal. Ask for a corner table for extra romantic atmosphere.
We sat in the back room, so it was quiet, but not much ambiance.

We ordered a nice bottle of wine from our server. Then the maitr’d came over with a different bottle. We thought he would say they were out of the first one, but no, he told us that the one we ordered was good but for only $10 more we could have one that was Very good. We said we would stick with the first one. We eat out in high end restaurants all the time and have been doing so for many years but have never experienced such a bizarre situation.
Don't let the initial entrance put you off; it gets better. The dining room is well decorated if a little dated. The menu is excellent and the service was outstanding. Our waiter was very helpful in making great selections from the menu and from the wine list. The duck was very good and the pinot noir that he recommended was outstanding.
Our first visit and it won't be our last. A wonderful evening. A little on the expensive side, but it makes a great night out.
Creme brûlée was very runny, our food came a little too fast not a good sign the food is fresh... mediocre food, dirty martini wa good waiter was very nice, our table was extremely wobbly our food almost fell several times.. tables are too close together everyone can hear each others conversations.... maybe some music should play to distract listening in on others was not very pleasant
This was our first time and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious! We had Caesar salad and a wedge salad which were huge and excellent. Either one of them could be split. The main dishes we ordered were salmon and duck. All of it was delicious! It was my birthday so we wanted a special place with wonderful food and we got it.
This was the second time I was there. The food is amazing and very worth the visit. I was disappointed with the service, however, this visit. (The first visit it was wonderful.) We arrived at 5pm, and it got very busy from then on. They do have a nice happy hour menu/drink specials. There seemed to be only one wait person who was also the bartender at 5pm. After delivering some wine and menus, we could not get his attention again - even when going to speak with him at the bar. Within an hour the bar area was packed. It gets very loud when it is (you'll find the dining room more conducive to a quiet dinner). More waiters and what seemed to be a manager showed up. Didn't get any sense of urgency from the manager when getting his attention. After about 15 minutes of waiting, a new waiter came over and took our orders. (Brian, I believe. He was very accommodating.) We got our food relatively quickly, and then another waiter switch occurred. The wait staff are all very good and nice, however between the waiting for service and multiple changes in waiters it was not like my first experience: Not a thoroughly enjoyable time. But, the food is fantastic, beautifully presented and good value.

The mushroom raviolis were mouth watering and the sauce was so good we asked for extra rolls to finish the sauce.
The food was delicious but we were there for two hours for dinner because the waiter hardly ever came over. The couple next to us came in about 10 minutes after us, had a different waiter and was done in an about an hour. And we had to ask for bread and the couple didn't have to ask for anything. Also, the manager came by and asked the tables next to us how they were doing but didn't all is all, just walked by.
my wife and I both ordered the restaurant week salmon special. That plus one appetizer and 2 glasses of wine came to $140 with tip. we did not feel we got a $140 value. it took 2 hours without eating desert there. the restaurant was extremely noisy. Portions are small. we took the chocolate mouse desert home with us and we were not impressed.

We went there for San Diego Restaurant Week and ordered from the special menu. All of the food was very good, but the wait staff impressed me as inexperienced, althoughthey were friendly and polite. My husband's PEI mussels in a tasty broth did not come with a tablespoon or bread for the broth -it had to be requested. In fact, although there was a butter knife among the settings, there was no bread or butter and when it finally came towards the end of the main course, it was too late for the mussels. For the salad, I requested pepper and it took quite a while (with a reminder) for the server to bring the pepper mill. The espresso came "saucerless" and no place to put the spoon for the sugar.
All in all, I would definitely recommend Bellamy's for the food and recommend that the wait staff be trained better.
We went for restaurant week! The steak was amazing and I normally only eat filet mignon, but this was definitely just as delicious. The starters (soup and salad) were delicious and a good size. The dessert was decent. We got creme brûlée and the mousse cake. The mousse was still frozen a bit in the middle and the creme brilee’s cystard was fairly warm. Overall, it was great and we would return!
My wife and I went there the other night for restaurant week. This was our first time there. The food and the service was excellent.
I had the Potato Leak soup, flat iron steak with mashed potatoes and green beans and creme brûlée. Everything was very good.
My wife had the Caesar salad, Salmon and chocolate mousse and she thought everything was great as well.
The waiter was very informative and the service was top notch.
All in all a nice evening and enjoyable time at Bellamy’s.
Went for the SDRW menu which was very good. We tried the 3 appetizer choices and found them all tasty. Hubby said the coq au vin was not to his taste and I found the salmon a little bland. Desserts were excellent.
EXCELLENT food and service! We love going to Bellamy’s, they never disappoint.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Bellamy's. The food was fantastic and the wine selection was great. My only comment is that they kept turning down the lights and I saw at least 2 groups of people having to use their phones flashlight in order to read the menu. Maybe not so dark next time.

We were extremely pleased with the quality of the food and the service. The nightly special Char was outstanding. Our waiter was quite accommodating when we asked to split it- which I am happy we did because it was more than enough for two of us! I recommend this restaurant highly and look forward to returning.

First time to Bellamy's and I was very impressed with the menu, service and cozy seating. I will definitely recommend as well as dine there again.
Our first time at Bellamy's, a weekday after New Years and a very quiet evening. Brian, our server, was very professional and as the restaurant was uncrowded, his service was fine. The restaurant is behind the bar, which seemed a little different, but beautifully appointed and the bar area is also very nice. Our food was great and the overall experience was somewhere between a four and a five on a five point scale.

Outstanding New Year’s Eve menu. Excellent and affordable wine pairings. Cheese course was a little disappointing, as there was only one choice – blue, but it was paired with honeycomb, which was a nice touch.

Have had good and bad meals...we've been there 4 times...twice it was very good and twice it was bad...not going to take a chance again.
This was our first visit to Bellamys. We went for Christmas Eve, and were not disappointed! It was a special menu and everything was outstanding. I especially loved the porcini mushroom ravioli down to the last morsel.
