Beautiful setting overlooking the ocean. Service was attentive, professional & pleasant. 11/21/17
We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary with a braid Tim di
Amazing food, great service and gorgeous view, will be going again!
The cuisine and atmosphere were excellent as always. There is no more beautiful backdrop for a lovely brunch than the Pacific Ocean. The Chateau St. Michelle champagne: all that one wishes to enjoy, is lovely. The highlight for me is rack of lamb. I found no potato until almost the conclusion of my meal, at which point delicious mashed potatoes were brought to the buffet. I would have liked more than the few pieces of pineapple and strawberries that were available. The service was mediocre this time, not what one would expect for an expenditure of $80 per person plus tax and gratuity.
Very nice view of ocean
Great location away from maddening crowd
Combine excellent food, a tranquil setting outside and an ocean sparkling like jewels and you have the perfect place to spend an afternoon.
The ambiance is so beautiful, service good. Too bad the food is a constant disappointmentment.
The Flalafel mushroom burger was so mushy & tastless, I could not eat it. The kale side salad with dressing only that was also tasteless.
Our waiter could not tell us about the food. He said it was a new menu but had no idea if a food item was a sandwich or salad? Food was average for. Four Seasons restaurant.
I enjoy a spa appt every month, my husband & I meet after & have dinner at Bella Vista....
it is always a special occasion... We have been coming here for 55 years... Very special for us!!
Lunch. Strange menu. One side was health food stuff like kale salad and raw seafood. The other side was fatty items like cubano sandwich and fries. Hard to find a middle ground. No menu for beverages, had to coax the waiter for info. Tries to be trendy, but it is really hotel fare. Overpriced, but paying for ocean view.
Everything was good but the service was a little off. It wasn’t even busy. We asked for more complimentary bread and we never got it. So we asked a second time but never received it. We decided to just finish up with our first round of drinks and appetizers we had and decided to have dinner at the Belmond el encanto which we were satisfied with there 5 star service.
The biggest downside is that I live 350 miles away from this place and only get to go about once every 5 years. That being said, I have been going for over 25 years and I have never been disappointed. With this place, anyhow. I have never found anything even close by comparison, anywhere I have loved or visited.
Food is delicious. Ambiance is pure Santa Barbara. Service is extraordinary.
Until next time....
Our experience at Bella Vista was fantastic, in spite of our absent breakfast guests. I would highly recommend Bella Vista to anyone in Southern California.
Excellent dinner. The duck was prepared beautifully. Sitting on the patio with a hear lamp and the large round fire pit was very comfortable. All the reflections of the lights from the lanterns created a magical scene. A little difficult to read the menu. A flash light on the table would have helped. The birthday dessert was marvelous.
I love this restaurant and i recommend everyone come to try their amazing food and watching amazing ocean view.
Our lunch was great, the variety of different things to choose from. The view is by far the best thing about the whole restaurant! Our waiter was very pleasant but it took a while for them to bring us our drinks. Also, they forgot something on my husband's plate that he asked for and then just never brought it . We'd certainly return, definitely not somewhere to go if you're in a rush
I love the Bella Vista and would spend everyday having lunch there if I could. The staff was lovely and catered to our needs, and the ambiance is incomparable. Great restaurant.
Excellent service! The food was wonderful and the oceanside views are spectacular! We had a girl’s brunch here and will definitely be back!
Our first night was great- we had steak and risotto- great service and heat lamp when it got chilly. Excellent wine and dessert. We went back the next night because we were so happy but it was completely diffferent. Menu items were forgotten, heat lamp forgotten and my halibut was not edible. I’m not sure if I would recommend, depends on the server .
We went to the Biltmore for Sunday Brunch for our anniversary. At $80 per person, it is definitely a special occasion place. But the food was terrific, plentiful (go to the buffet as much as you like), and they kept pouring good quality Champagne as soon as our glasses were at 1/2. So, in all, good value. Some of the offerings included 3 types of caviar; fresh oysters; king crab legs; shrimp; smoked salmon; sushi; dumplings; charcuterie; carving board with roast beef and lamb; usual breakfast offerings including omelets made to order; crepes; desserts. The only criticism is that there wasn't any good bread to eat with the charcuterie and cheeses -- just cold toasted baguette and dried out bagels. We had indicated that it was our anniversary when we reserved, and they brought a nice plate at the end with cookies and chocolates, with "Happy Anniversary" written on the plate in chocolate. Nice touch.
First please let me ask you to confirm that I received my points because there was a mixup on making the reservation and I did dine there at about 1130 AM on that day even though your site showed 1245 and I received an email saying that I did not show up according to your records. I was told you would fix this. Thank you so much!
As for my review:
This wonderful restaurant is located in the fabulous Four Seasons Biltmore Hotel in Montecito, a beautiful Spanish architecture-inspired building surrounded by lush tropical grounds. I recommend the outdoor seating on the top tier, where you will find yourself at a colorful Italian ceramic table, under a lovely umbrella, and staring at the breathtaking Butterfly Beach. The view is absolutely fabulous, the wait staff was the most attentive humanly possible, and the food was beyond delicious. I had an asparagus gazpacho that was unique in its combination but very flavorful with a perfect consistency and wonderful taste, and a chicken entrée that was cooked to perfection, juicy and moist and full of flavor, so that I never dreamed that chicken could taste this good. It was a breast served on carrots that were fabulous, and I would recommend the entrée to anyone, even if you are not a chicken lover. You will become a believer. Dining here reminded me of dinners on the Amalfi Coast and the Cote D’Azur, as this setting, the delicious cuisine. and the attentive and professional service certainly rivals its European counterparts.
Splendid! Great service as expected!
A reservation for 7:30 on Sunday evening was "not immediately ready" so we were asked to stand at the restaurant's entry to await the table. There were no others waiting. The reservation desk person showed us to our table, asked what type of water we wanted. We waited. A wait staff person asked us about water. We waited. We called over a wait staff person to ask to order. When the food arrived one order was incorrect, and taken back. 3 waited for the order to be returned. One pork tenderloin order was stronger than the knife provided could cut. Poor service was probably because there was not enough wait staff on duty. Poor food offerings was inexplicable.
Service was slow, not enough servers for amount of customers
I was expecting to be paying for the name and the location, so I was pleasantly surprised by how outstanding the food was. My husband is a picky eater, and they were happy to prepare his steak just the way he liked it. Our waiter was amazing, he even gave us little gifts to take home to our boys.
Food is good to fair. Lacks creativity & flavors at times. Service is good to fair.
We have eaten at Bella Vista many times for various occasions, birthdays, anniversary and business lunches and dinners. Dinners are amazing if you schedule it around the sunset.
A must do for any occasion. Bring a sweater if it's overcast or for dinner.
We live in Connecticut. My wife and I honeymooned at the Biltmore in 1959 and a few days ago we had dinner there to remember old times. It didn't disappoint and we enjoyed the experience. It's nice to know the place is still very special.
You might be interested to know our lavish honeymoon room cost $18 per night and dinners for two, with wine, cost around $5.
The servings were exquisitely prepared and elegantly presented. The service was everything you should expect from a venue as this. Our server, Jennifer, was sincerely in her care for our special occasion. We will definitely come again to the Four Seasons Biltmore.
Would prefer the tomato version of the Gazpacho instead of the asparagas.
This is the Four Seasons, I expected so much more. This was for a special occasion. Every entree was over priced with no special presentation. Each egg dish was $25, and should have been about $15. Potatoes on all the breakfast entrees were dried out and cold. Toast was in a basket for the table, not on each entree plate, and it was cold and hard. Waiters didn't know who had which entrees...and we were the only table in the restaurant at that time. Cappacino and latte were exactly the same. I was extremely disappointed, and wish I had chosen another place for my special occasion.
We went for a girls brunch to end our weekend in Santa Barbara and it was a lovely relaxing environment. It was quiet and removed from the city a bit so it felt like a world away.
Chaotic, noisy and filled with kids and families on the holiday weekend. Service was mininal and begrudging and food came out at a glacial pace. View is great but everything else was average or below.
Menu said lobster roll. I'm ok to pay $29 for a proper lobster roll- and $6 iced tea. Instead, it was more like a chicken salad with lots of vegetable fillers and barely 2 bites of rock lobster.
Love the amazing view, great service, delicious food all say long from breakfast thru dinner. As long as we r staying at the hotel we r always here. Perfect location, friendly staff. Try everything on the menu, that's what we are doing😉 (organic? Music to my ears👌
Seafood Louis was not worth the price. Quite skimpy on the seafood. Shame on you.
This beautiful restaurant never disappoints. Wonderful buffet surpassed only by the setting. Do not miss it!
Wonderful view, beautiful garden, and tasteful interior decoration in front of Butterfly Beach. Great ambience. The service staff were all friendly and helpful and treat you well. For the price ($80/pp Sunday brunch buffet) and the luxury hotel setting, however, I was truly surprised the food was actually pretty mediocre. Most of them lacked flavor. The crabs tasted like right from the supermarket freezer, the meats (curving section) tasted brant, the baked goods didn't appear fresh, the pastries looked so pretty but tasted somewhat cheap. I really wish I could talk more positively since it was such a beautiful place.
My husband said the freshly cooked egg benedict was very good.
Excellent food and service with an absolutely stunning view of the ocean. Good choice of wines by the glass and bottle. Dine at sunset and just enjoy.
Our waitress, Jennifer, was beyond outstanding! A most enjoyable dinner.
