Bella Trattoria Restaurant
Experience the flavors of Italy right here at The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa.
Food was delicious! Service was great. Our favorite restaurant at the Mission Inn.
Service was terrible and it was not even busy in the restaurant. We ordered salads before our meal and did not receive them - the manager brought them out after we had our meal but by that time we had already eaten our meals. Had to wait forever for refills and our check. Had to ask a different servor for our bill because our servor never came to our table. Then had to wait again a long time for our change.
Service was slow, very nice restaurant, very good food.
The ambience is unmatched, mixing beauty and authentic Italian sounds provides a setting for romance, networking or business lunches. Very spacious and calming while still having the ability to people watch through the glass. Reminds me of Florence... The staff is exceptional and kind and the food is wonderful.
Bella Trattoria at The Mission Inn wasn’t what i had expected. It was more casual and more limited in fare. The reserved table fit us comfortably, but it was in a back corner, a bit dingy. The high point was the friendly waiter who was helpful but allowed us plenty of time to eat and chat.
Beforehand, our party met in the Presidential Bar and ordered drinks and an appetizer which arrived promptly, but we didn’t get any plates or utensils. Finally, I walked over to the waitress’ station and asked for the things we needed.
It was prom night and many students splendid looking students made for a busy night. Even so, I was a bit disappointed in The Mission Inn. I guess I was expecting food and service at a higher level given the website and reputation.
I love the Mission Inn but Bella Trattoria needs much better management. We arrived near sunset and had to spend the next half hour or so asking and then reasking the staff to try and block the sun that was setting right into our eyes. Considering the restaurant was at best 25% occupied, I’m still trying to figure out why they even use that table at that time of day. It took over 45 minutes to receive our food, which seemed long until I ran into a friend who happened to be eating on the other side of the restaurant. They had waited over an hour and a half. If the food were good, I’d be fine with the wait. I don’t think I have ever had such inedible food in my life. The eggplant parmesan consisted of eggplant so tough it couldn’t be chewed, topped with so much cheese the dish should have just been called baked cheese. Doubt we’ll be back.
Restaurant wasn’t very busy at 5PM. We were seated for 15 minutes, no table service. We decided to walk out. Saw manager who asked us to stay, which we did as we were looking forward to Italian food.
The calamari has a light crispy batter, our entrees were delicious.
We received a complimentary appetizer and a discount on our bill.
Hopefully, the initial service received is not the norm.
We celebrated a birthday. The food was excellent and service was great. Will definitely come again.
Sadly another restaurant at the Mission Inn that I am striking off my “go to list.” The service was painfully slow with the waiter disappearing for several minutes after we requested basic service items (plates, glasses, etc). He did not anticipate our needs and seemed disinterested or maybe just poorly trained.
The chicken marsala I ordered was cold and bland. It was a good sized portion but just wasn’t appetizing or worthy of a trip to the Mission Inn. My friend’s margherita pizza was undercooked and a bit chewy. Those that orders the Inn Keeper’s spicy penne left left more than half on their plate and said that it was just “meh.”
The two of us had a nice table outside, perfect weather, very good service, and great food made for a memorable evening. A restaurant definitely worth trying.
Had a great time. Our server Aliyah, was amazing!
This restaurant is a proven winner for me - for intimate lunches or dinners to large parties, you can count on them to create a wonderful experience with excellent food.
We were celebrating your birthday and they surprise the birthday girl with a great dessert. Wonderful service wonderful food
I luv this restaurant it's great for business or social dating, wonderful ambiance.
Had a wonderful meal at Bella Trattoria. Services was excellent as was the food and presentation.
Can't wait to go back!
Such a disappointing experience.
Made reservations for 6:15pm for my mothers birthday dinner (party of 10) - We were seated right away, ordered our drinks and our food. Our food did not arrive until 8PM, YES, almost TWO hours after we were seated!! I talked to the waiter TWICE and the manager once about our food taking too long. The response was that they had a party of 20 in the patio and they had priority.
One of my guests had to leave without her dinner. What a poor experience.
We were there on a very busy Saturday afternoon. Due to the ease with which I was able to make a reservation, we were seated quickly and provided water. Our server appeared and took our orders, and our meals were brought out fairly soon. Our waters were never left empty, and our entire table was well looked after.
The food was delicious, the bread was divine. Will definitely be coming back.
I would recommend their table bread and creme brulee. The actual meal was good, but not amazing. It was very loud and very cold inside. The building does not have any heating. Very cold for winter time. Uncomfortable environment. Everyone still had their coats on.
It was cool evening but our candle was out and waitress didn’t lit one up . So I had to switch an candle that lit on the table next to us . But overall it was alright
Somewhat limited and unchanging menu, but food is good. Great friendly service. Mostly nice ambiance save for the annoying scooters running back and forth down Main and some of the inside tables positioned in such a way that other patrons are almost yapping in your ear. But still an overall nice place to dine.
The lavacake was amazing
Food was so so. Service was slow.
Bella has great food and a friendly staff. Unfortunately, our server had a good attitude but sucked at actually servicing our table. He kept disappearing, he didn't ask if we wanted to add soup or salad to our entrees and wasn't around for additional drinks. There was no way we were going to order dessert. We could see other tables had much faster/better service by other servers.
The best thing about our dinner was the food. It was very good. The service was was mediocre. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter did not come back once to poor another glass for either of us. We had to poor the wine ourselves through dinner. Through dinner the waiter hardy came back to checking on us. We asked for a desert menu and when commenting on the description of the cupcakes we were asked if we were a "plant".
We were the last ones in the restaurant and we finishing our desert. Our waiter was no where to be seen and we were waiting to give him the check. We were approached by a guy in a suit who we assumed was the manager, who appruptly told the restaurant was closing and we had to go. We were not asked if we enjoyed our dinner, not thanked for coming, nothing. As we were leaving, the waiter came from some where and said goodbye. I told him his boss just kicked us out.
It was our first time to dinner at the Mission Inn, it was my girlfriends birthday. Clearly there was a moral problem and we would not recommend the restaurant and when asked about the Mission Inn by our friends, our first impression was obviously tainted.
Food was good but make shift venue with rain pouring in and cold! Not up to par as far as ambiance with other mission inn restaurants Service was just ok
Food was very disappointing. One pasta dish was drowning in oil, one was too salty, and one was supposed to be spicy sausage but it seemed like a plain crumpled up hamburger. Took a while to get food. New cooks?
What keeps me away from marking this a 5 is the wait for the food and the cold bread. So the garlic bread was soft but not warm. She offered wine for my husband and suggested a good selection. We ordered the steak for my pregnant self, husband had pasta, and my son had pizza and it took about 1 hour. It felt like a long time, but the food was delicious. I can’t complain about the quality of food, but it did take a bit longer then I expected.
Server was kind. She checked in frequently. We had cupcakes from the next door, which was delicious, but not a good idea to know that by walking over you can buy them at $3.50 and the restaurant will charge you $5 each. Just throwing that out there
The Thursday special was a free appetizer with the purchase of two entrees. We chose the calamari. It took about 20 minutes for the appetizer to arrive; when it did come, it was barely lukewarm. It must have been sitting on the shelf in the kitchen for 15 minutes after it was cooked. They did replace it with a new order, which arrived hot, but our entrees arrived about 30 seconds after the replaced appetizer. Absolutely terrible service.
My carbonara was flooded in a creamy sauce. Wrong.
The service was really poor . Everytime we asked for something the waiter seems like totally forgot.
One request for cheese was totally forgotten . It never got to us.
Hostess was young and inexperienced. Service was very slow. Food was just so-so. It was raining and this restaurant is not equipped to deal well with rain. We were a party of two and it took almost 2 hours to order, receive food, eat, receive bill and leave. Would not recommend. This was out second time at this restaurant. Our first experience was not great this one was worse.
Enjoyed our dinner. For the most part the food was very good. However, the pasta that came with the Chicken Parmigiana was barely warm while the chicken was steaming hot. Taste was good.
Steak is very salty side veggies are very soggy, chicken parmesan is very dry.
The only good thing is the service
My first and last time to try this place
A group of 8 of us had 7pm reservations on January 3, 2019.
One person in our group wanted soup which wasn’t available, sold out. One person ordered eggplant parmigiana. The waiter returned to say they were out of eggplants. My husband ordered a Caesar salad which never arrived. A pizza was the only meal that wasn’t complained about!
Long wait to be seated even though we had a reservation. Server mostly ignored us, we were only helped after frequent requests. The hostess was not approachable and the bread was extremely hard.
Meatball appetizer was delicious! Chicken Ceaser Salad was very generous in both chicken and salad. Accommodating staff. Great ambiance. You are basically in a glass shell, looking out onto the plaza. Good people watching spot. We enjoyed very much.
Nicely appointed restaurant at the Mission Inn. Indoor and outdoor seating
Overall the food was good. We did have an issue with one of our items, the linguine with clams. The wine was not burned off completely and the dish still tasted of a strong alcohol taste. It was mentioned to our server and we were told “well it should have been burned off already so they don’t know what we’re tasting.” That was all that was said to us, and no effort at customer service was made. Kind of disappointing.
Very poor service
Very slow inattentive servicesuch a shame for a lovely location
