Bella Tori at the Mansion Ratings and Reviews
My wife and I have dined at Bella Torimany many times and it is always a wonderful dinning experience. The food the service and the ambiance are all top notch. The menu changes seasonally plus there are many dishes that are always a great constant on the menu. Anyone coming here for a special occassion or for a night out on the town will be pleased to dine at Bella Tori!
Bella Tori is an outstanding restaurant for almost any occasion. The service is friendly and attentive and the food is excellent. Desserts are delicious, although nothing too far out of the ordinary. Bella Tori has become the "go-to" restaurant for my wife and me.
The Osso Buco is outstanding, as well as the crab cakes. The restaurant is housed in a large mansion where you can feel comfortable dressing up or down for dinner. Friday night has live guitar music and BYOB. While they have full bar service, having the choice of BYOB in Friday evenings brings us back often. Need wine advice, restaurant manager Eric is a wealth of expertise.
Our first time here was a great experience. Sunday brunch offerings are eclectic and delicious. Lox, bagels, Rice Krispie French toast, waffles, breakfast meats, omelets, poached eggs, various salads, roast beef, pasta and a wonderful autumn pork stew. The grilled veggies were particularly good and the cheese blintzes were perfect, creamy and not overly sweet. The dessert table had so many choices we could not possibly try everything. Service was impeccable. Our coffee was always refilled and empty plates taken away quickly. The team of servers was really on top of everything! If you are looking for an elegant place to have an affordable brunch, look no further. Brunch is set outside the dining rooms where skylights provide beautiful lighting over the food tables while the dining area has subdued, relaxing lighting. We plan to go back for dinner to try their prix fixe menu.
Four of us had a fabulous dinner on a recent Friday night accompanied by live, classical guitar music. BYOB on Friday night allowed us to enjoy our favorite wines with four scrumptious meals. We feasted on salads, crab cakes, chicken and grilled vegetables, and finished our meals with coffee, tea, and heavenly bread puddings and chocolate cake. The service was prompt and unobtrusive; the ambience was perfect for simultaneously enjoying conversation and the beautiful tones of the guitar. We had been here for brunch several weeks prior and had a wonderful meal then as well with so many choices (some of us enjoyed breakfast offerings such as made-to-order omelets; others enjoyed luncheon fare such as shrimp; all of us enjoyed the artfully displayed, delicious homemade pastries) . We consider this restaurant to be a hidden treasure!
Much better than I expected. Food was top notch. You can tell it's prepared from scratch. Something as simple as the Caesar salad had a homemade dressing, real anchovies, etc. I generally don't like "fancy old building" restaurants because they tend to be overrated. Not this place.
The only possible negatives is that the food takes a while. Probably because it's made from scratch. So get comfortable. But it is worth the wait.
We had a very enjoyable experience at BT. Our waiter, Michael, was outstanding. He offered helpful suggestions and was attentive but allowed us to pace our meal so we could enjoy the conversation. We were placed in a quieter section so we could actually have a group conversation wtihout imposing our laughs and good humor on others. For appetizers, our group enjoyed the brushetta, calamari, and burrata. Our main courses, we enjoyed the rack of lamb, the crab cakes and veal/shrimp/scallop dish. The portions are plentiful but we managed to squeeze some very delicious desserts including a wonderful apple pastery that was as good as my mother used to make. This is a place for special events and large groups. Good location for friends coming from Princeton/South Jersery/Bucks looking for a convenient central location.
This was our 2nd time at Bella Tori and it was just as wonderful as the first. The couple we went with hadn't been there before and we couldn't wait to introduce them to this terrific place. We are already planning another night out at Bella. Food, service, ambience...all first class!
Bella Tori brought in a new chef who made a good menu even better. My wife's filet was perfectly cooked, and my veal was very tender and tasty. Can't beat the ambience, especially on friday nights with the guitar player setting a romantic, relaxing mood. It's fine dining which means a little on the expensive side, but well worth it.
We went to BT for our 32nd Anniversary. Everything was perfect! The food, the staff, the ambience all perfect/ BT is a well managed gem in a beautifully restored Victorian style mansion. The pricing was reasonable for the quality dining experience. The only thing I regret is not going there sooner. I am looking forward to returning soon and brining friends who I know would appreciate the experience!
Disappointed in the prix fixe menu, especially the dessert. The chicken seemed dry to me, the girls described the crab cakes as pretty, but without much taste, and there were only 2 choices for dessert. 3 young girls were with me. One of which doesn't like chocolate. She ordered the grand Marnier crepe which came to the table swimming in a bitter tasting "reduction". While the atmosphere of the restaurant is impressive, the food, in my opinion, left a lot to be desired.
We were met at the door with a cheerful hello and seated promptly. Service was excellent from the beginning to the end. My wife and I both enjoyed the Tuesday thru Thursday Prix Fixe Menu with wine pairing, all of which was excellent. Will be back in the coming weeks. Thank you for a good evening out.
This was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable meals we have ever had. The staff was attentive, the meal was outstanding and the ambience was unbeatable. And the price was right! Byob wine on a Friday and price fix meal. All in, less than $80 for two. Eric, the manager, was super coming to our table to ensure our experience was good. Highly recommended for that special romantic meal.
