This is a great place. Like eating in a cave. Small tables close together and just a cool place. We live in San Antonio and this is our favorite restaurant on the Riverwalk!
David and his staff are true professionals. We make a trip to San Antonio twice a year for business purposes, and Bella on The River has become a required stop because of the excellent food, quality wait staff, excellent wine choices. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough, and look forward to my next visit!
Well run by David and his staff, this reasonably priced high end restaurant is perfectly located on the river walk.
Gkoria was great. Patrick was helpful . We felt pampered. Food was outstanding
Bell is a nice quaint place to celebrate a special occasion with fine dining on the riverwalk.
We love the restaurant. The only issue we’ve ever had, and it is always an issue, is the noise level is more than “energetic, it’s annoyingly loud. There is always at least one table that assumes everyone is there to be entertained by them. I know the staff has very little control over this, but it is a deterrent from repeated visits.
Very nice Valentines Day dinner while travelling. Intimate little place on the River Walk with nice atmosphe and a good wine list.
Have been dinning here since the week they opened. Always the best quality food, the very best ambiance and the attention to service is second to none. Great place for a casual dinner or a very special event. You want to keep coming back! Thank you Bella for always making our experience the very best!
Don't be fooled by the logo or outside appearance, this place is an elegant gem. We had mussels, the filet, and paella. Nervous about the paella as we had just had a trip to Valencia but it was cooked well and tasty. Filet was cooked to perfection. Service was eloquent.
Fantastic time, amazing food and great service. Will definitely be coming back.
Great food and ambiance. Two things that were disappointing - we had indicated on open table it was our anniversary but that was not acknowledged at all. Lastly, we wanted a booking at 7:30pm but nothing was available, so we booked for 6:15. However, we left at 8:15pm and there were always at least 6 tables open, so not sure what the issue was.
Bella on the River was the perfect way to end our trip to San Antonio. I am so happy to have found it. Our meal was wonderful. My 13 year old Loves Mussells and these did not disappoint. From the Appetizers to bread to Entrees of Lamb and Seafood Pasta to Dessert. We all Enjoyed our Meal. But you need a Reservation. Lots of people were turned away and boy did they miss a meal.
Nice place, music, service, food and wine. Definitely I’m going to back at the next travel to SAT
Bella is a very quaint restaurant with minimal seating and an expensive menu. I found it to be just as described in many of the reviews I saw before dining. Most likely you will need a reservation to get a table and expect to pay top dollar for minimal portions. The food was delicious but the small portions were not nearly worth the amount charged. Our main courses were the size of an appetizer and the appetizer was hardly a bite of food. The atmosphere was nice, the food was very tasty but I probably will not be back for seconds.
Loved this little Italian restaurant! It was right on the riverwalk, just a short walk from our hotel. It's very tiny inside so I would recommend making a reservation. The inside ambiance was very nice and I loved the stone walls. We arrived early for our reservation so we sat at the bar and decided to stay seated there for our dinner. We enjoyed our wine, ravioli appetizer and each had a pasta entree. Would definitely come back!
Food was very good but needs to add a regular salad to the menu.
Our server was thoughtful and the food was delicious and creative.
We went for my bday but felt like the waitress didn’t have time for us. Just felt like we needed to eat and leave.
Great wine, service and ambience. Had appetizer, main courses and dessert. Superior food and great host. Service was informed about wine pairings and matched their service to our pace. Great evening even better than we remembered it.
The restaurant is very small and unless you have a reservation you probably won't get in, at least on a weekend evening. My husband and I had reservations and had no problem, but the table we got was small and overlooked the inside front steps. Dining is quite cramped. We were served bread with garlic sauce before our meals were served, and it really didn't have much flavor. For my main meal I ordered a spinach salad, which was delicious, and a side order of sauteed mushrooms, which were kind of slimy. My husband ordered steak florentine which he decided needed salt. He thought 1/2 of it was ok, but the other half tasted pretty bland (the half he thought was ok was more rare than the other half). He liked his potato coquettes. Was the steak worth $38? Absolutely not. The staff was nice and attentive, but the food was hit-or-miss. I doubt that we'll go back when we visit San Antonio again.
