Italians say, "A tavolo non s'invecchia".
(People do not get old at the table)-spend enough time at ours and you'll believe it's true!
Great atmosphere, wonderful service, freshly baked bread as a starter. Price to quality was comparable to other similar restaurants, and would definitely come again.
It was okay. Nothing special.
Extended Family get together.
Food was great and atmosphere was nice. The only complaint I had was the fact our server did not tell us the specials or offer any recommendations to drink selections or options. After us she continued to her next few tables and offered them all the options and information.
Family gathering - excellent service and food. Will definitely come back!!
We gathered for a birthday celebration. Lauren our server did a wonderful job in providing recommendations and serving our selections. Great service, tasty food.....nice evening. Well done!
It was my husbands birthday:) it was a great first time experience. Friendly staff, great food!!
Consistently good food, at a good price.
We always love Bella Notte! This time, scallops were on the menu! They were AWESOME! Wood grilled perfectly over linguine....YUM! We split the special autumn salad, grilled radicchio (with grilled squash, cheese, etc) I could have made a meal just of that!!! Wonderful and warm...
Food is always a good value. Wine was nice. Dessert always delicious
We went to Bella Note with friends. The food is consistently great. Service is outstanding. We are adventuresome in trying various menus items and have been rewarded with great dining options.
We enjoy the 1/2 price wine Thursday night as well. The seafood is consistently fresh and well prepared. It is the best in town as far as I have experienced. Traditional Italian items are also consistently excellent.
Last, but not least, the prices are reasonable.
I went on a Wednesday evening and I'm glad I had a reservation. The restaurant was quite busy, but not overly loud. The service was great as was the food.
Bella Notte is an amazing restaurant. Would definitely recommend to a friend and most definitely coming back!
We are always blown away by how well we are taken care of here. As always, our food was delicious, and we were seated almost immediately when we got there with our reservation. It made my 30th birthday perfect!
The food was excellent as always, food getting out was a little slow, but it was worth the wait.
Great food! Service was very good but a fraction slow on taking orders for drinks and food. Round table nice for conversation but I had a light over my head that was too bright and I felt like I was in the spotlight all night. I’ve been there before but it’s been awhile and have to say really need to go back again sooner.
Came for our wedding anniversary based on reviews. However it didn’t meet those expectations. The place is decent but it’s way more casual than advertised by patrons. Customers arrived in sweatpants and gym shoes to shirt and ties. The seating is crowded and the service is equivalent to that of an Applebee’s. Food is good but over rated. We reserved a spot via Open Table with notes about our anniversary. Neither the greeter nor the waitress acknowledged our special night. When I did tell the waitress she said happy anniversary, but nothing else came of it. She was rushed and they seemed short staffed.
We’ve been here a few times over the years and are always blown away. The ambiance is romantic and dim, the food is incredible and the service is great. I would recommend Bella Notte for a nice evening out with family or with a date.
The scallops were fantastic, always enjoyed going there!
I think this is one of the very best restaurants in Lexington. The food is always excellent, service strong and a good price point for nice dining. I have been here a dozen times, and never been disappointed. I especially enjoy that they take the time and effort to have seasonal menus catering to local ingredients and availability. We had a large group (7), with tight timing for a concert. They accommodated our request very well, and we made it in plenty of time. I enjoyed pasta this time, although the fish is typically excellent, and the steaks are quite good, although I would typically go to J Alexander’s or Jeff Ruby’s if I want a great steak in town.
We will be certain to visit many times in the future!
Great food at an affordable price
We had a larger party of eight people. The table was difficult to get in or out of unless you were seated at the end. The service took extended time to bring out the main course. We ordered the Ahi tuna which was a thick portion. Once my son cut into the food, it was very raw on the inside and he was not able to eat anything but the outside portion. The waitress was informed and her response was, "Well, he ate most of it." We have eaten here many times before, but I was very disappointed in the value and service of this meal. Next time we will choose another restaurant for our family celebration.
Outstanding in every way. I was told by the server that this is one of three family-owned Lexington restaurants. I'm anxious to try the others.
Food is outstanding, especially save room for the chocolate soufflés!
We love Bella Notte. The service is spot on and the atmosphere is very nice. We like that we can visit while we dine, as it has a comfortable noise level. And of course there’s the food. I love the Salmon Oreganato and get it almost every time. This time I tried one of the fall specials - Mushroom Farrowto (?). It was good but very rich. I think a fresh vegetable served with it would be good. My husband had the Lasagna which was also good. We will definitely return to Bella Notte.
This was my favorite Lexington restaurant until today. We were seated in a side room off the main dining room, and this room had a party of 10 adults and 6 children, 2 were babies. We were not greeted for 20 minutes by our server, then we asked for wine and bread which came fairly quickly. Our lunch order was not yet taken. 35 minutes after the bread and wine were served, I went to find our server so she would take our order. My husband ordered a salad with his lunch, and that took almost 30 minutes. The server said the kitchen was backed up. We were the only ones now in this side room, and the restaurant did not look busy at all at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon.
I had put on my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, but no mention was made of that when dessert was mentioned, so I told the server. She brought out a delicious brownie with ice cream.
Our lunches were very good, nice portions, the Alamos Malbec was nice, and the bread and spices were delicious.
Where we were seated and the really slow service were big negatives to our experience today. It will be a while before I return.
I ordered chicken piccata, and was disappointed. Basically, a small portion of pasta with a sauce that was meant to approximate piccata topped with a piece of dry fried chicken. I've had decent meals here, but this wasn't one of them.
We had such a great time. The food was excellent, and the costs were minimal. We couldn't believe all that we got for our total tab. We will be back, thanks!
Our first time there. We were a little late due to traffic but called regarding our problem. When we arrived we were seated immediately. I noticed appetizers on a table in the lobby for those waiting for seating. What a great idea. Our waiter immediately arrived with menus and introduced himself. We were catching up on the past year and the waiter did not interrupt our conversation. He explained the seasonal menu and introduced specials. Our friends are from St. Louis which has a different Italian tradition. While we waited for our food he brought out 2 soups to taste. Both we excellent. Our salads we perfect and he was able to get anchovies for my husband’s Caesar. A frequently rare occurrence. He enthusiastically explained our entrees which were perfect. Mine involved pasta in a sauce and a lightly breaded chicken breast delicately fried. He dropped by to ask about our meal when none of us had food in our mouthes. Asking about the food after I have food in my mouth is a pet peeve and he avoided that. We all commented on that. The house wine was excellent. As our plates were being cleared he informed us of a complementary Pana Cota that we were to share. As we were enjoying this pleasant surprise the manager introduced himself, welcomed us, and asked how we had discovered them. We lived in San Francisco for 35 years and are accustomed to fine dining and this met all our criteria. Prompt seating. Well informed waiter who was enthusiastic and not intrusive, excellent food that was balanced between flavor while not being overly heavy. . A welcoming manager with a generous complementary dessert. We all felt very welcome. We’ll look for an excuse to return to Lexington
Excellent food and Sarah our server was great. Our friends were so pleased that their 50th anniversary was acknowledged with a terrific dessert. I had requested a table I front of the fireplace. We got exactly that at the time of our reservation. The staff even helped with charging my daughters iPhone. Everyone went out of their way.
Nice server, very tasty food; nice dessert for the one in our group having a birthday. Thank you!
I have always loved Bella Notte's food. I was not however as impressed with the 'Brunch' menu as I have always been with their Dinner selections. I would still go there for Lunch or Dinner.
Our waiter Naiomi took great care of us. Our was food great.
Outstanding as always. This was our 2nd visit in one week. Our daughter was home from college and this is where she wanted to go after a day at Keeneland. Fantastic service, exceptional food and outstanding wine list. Consistent every time!!
Great good. Great atmosphere. They could up their wine game though.
Shared Bella Notte with friends from out of state to celebrate their anniversary. They - and we - loved it! Sammi (?sp) our waitress was absolutely wonderful! Wonderful evening. Thanks.
Very friendly staff, easy to find the reservation, she took our order very fast, always smiling and checking if we needed more to drink. Great experience, it’s always been my favorite restaurant and this just solidified that!
Food and service were wonderful. Cost including wine was reasonable.
Bella Notte is my favorite place to get dinner with friends and family. The atmosphere is as good as the food! For every occasion, from girlfriend get-togethers to family celebrations to romantic dates, Bella is our favorite!
