Had a reservation and waited 45 minutes for a table. No communication on wait time. Myself and others were clueless as to what was going on. Hostess seemed more interested in talking to friends at the bar and being on her phone.
Great place to dine! Exceptional service & the owner is a real nice guy! Love this place!
First time here. Very quaint place, nicely decorated. Food was plentiful and very good. Server was terrific.
It was wonderful Italian food
The staff and waiters were not very friendly. The restaurant was not busy at all and yet we felt rushed
by our waiter. The food was mediocre. Two of us had Chicken Vesuvio and it was dry and had no flavor. The food came out about 6 or 7 minutes after we ordered, so I'm wondering if it was precooked and then
microwaved and served. I definitely can not recommend this restaurant.
Amazing service and generous portions!
Excellent food and the service impeccable; attentive but not intrusive. Definitely will return.
I went with my son on New Years Eve. The server saw a mother and son and completely stereotyped me as a two top, cheap and quick table not realizing that I used to be a server and my husband is in the industry. At the time I did not complain to a manager because it was NYE and I was out with my son.
This is a list of my complaints coming from someone who understands the industry and knows what good to great service looks like. This was neither good nor great, it was awful.
Server kept us waiting
Came over and said are you ready to order before introducing himself, getting drink order, and giving us the specials.
I had to ask for the specials
While in the middle of him speaking about specials he walks away from the table mid sentence without saying excuse me or anything. He did this a couple times.
Martini finished and didn’t come back to ask if I wanted another drink. I had to chase him down for the wine menu. Son’s kiddie cocktail was empty and didn’t ask if he would like something else.
Never returned for wine order
Food arrives and I have to chase him down to order wine
Doesn’t come to ask how our food is until we are finished.
Comes to table with check presenter and asks if there is anything else we wanted
I then say we would like dessert to go, he is annoyed but gives me the options quickly and returns with dessert and reprinted check presenter.
Not to mention the food isn’t great for that much ridiculousness. The grouper was dry. The Fettuccine Alfredo was A Lot of sauce and not many noodles.
Even though from start to finish the dinner was ridiculous I still gave him a 20% tip because I used to be in the business and can’t tip less but he was deserving of nothing.
Will not return.
Very nice place. Good meal. Huge portions. Busy evening with New Year's Eve.
Excellent food. Great service. Really a wonderful restaurant.
Best Italian food in Chicago. We traveled all the way from Florida to eat there.
The bread was good. We shared a Caesar salad. It was a very generous portion and was good but slightly overdressed. We also shared the red snapper special ($36 I think). It was a small portion and definitely nothing special. My last bite was so bad that I would’ve spit it out if there were paper napkins! Ugh! Service was good and the atmosphere was fine but that fish was NOT special.
Service fine. Food was boring. Time to kick up the flavor. Charges too much for one item on a plate. Order was also wrong.
Service was horrible. Waiter acted like he had a million better things to do than give us the time of day. My first glass of wine was a splash, my second was filled to the brim. The table next to us had their food dropped off and had to serve themselves because the waiter was no where to be found. I’ve never tipped less than 20% in my life but this service was just inexcusable.
The food and service were great when we got to our table were great. They could've used a second bar tender to serve the clients because he was a little slow. The restaurant was very loud.
The quality of the food and pasta was fabulous! The calamari was the best I've ever had!
Been going to Bella Notte from when it first opened, never disappointed!
Great spot for a pre Blackhawk dinner.
Best food!!! Incredible meal, everything was amazing. Sausage and peppers, octopus was to die for along the best raviolis and then it was time for the meal!! So good, great people and great atmosphere for a night out at an authentic restaurant.
A+++ per usual. Love this place!
Birthday celebration. Excellent food, excellent service.
I absolutely love this place! Never does it disappoint! The owners always come by and say hello, and the food is the best Italian that I’ve had in Chicago, hands-down… No questions asked!
Wonderful food. Huge portions. Delightful wait staff. Don’t miss this one if you r in the neighborhood
I have dinned here many times and have always had a great experience. Food, Service everything spot on.
We had 13 people and I couldn't have picked a better place! Great food, attentive but chill service, super accommodating and so reasonable! We were fighting for the last bites of the fried calamari and sausage and peppers appetizers. The pasta (we got vodka sauce, Alfredo and Arrabiata), was so delicious, as were veal parmesan and chicken marsala.
The mussels in the mussels and linguine were some of the juiciest and most delicious I've ever had--and I live on the East Coast!
The servings are huge (it's family style), so everyone was happy to take home leftovers. And it was only $38 per person, and no one could have eaten or drank another bite. Una bella notte, indeed! Grazie mille!
Fantastic food and service.
Lobster fra diavolo was outstanding.... including enough linguini for 4 people ..!!!
. we were only 2 and my date ordered filet mignon.. lots to take home. One of the best dinners out in months.
Excellent food and service
Love the food. We have been going there for years
Great Italian food, excellent timely service and a solid wind list. Great value for someone not looking to pay for something crazy in the west loop.
Best marinara and service and food. Our favorite.
Great food and service. We had a party of 9 people and everyone enjoyed their meals and took what they could not finish home with them.
been a customer for years--with all the great italan restaurants in the city--belle note is reliable for good food-no rush service--a very pleasant evening--portions are enough for a few meals--plan on eating pasta a few times at home
Great, traditional style Italian food and generous quantities. Sauces were perfectly seasoned.
A bit too noisy for my golden ager ears, but the overall experience was still excellent.
We loved dinner at Bella Notte. The 8 finger cavatelli pasta in vodka sauce is amazing.... we shared it as a family for an appetizer. I had the veal vesuvio and it was delicious. Easily, Bella Notte is a top 3 Italian restaurants in the city for me.
The ambiance was relaxed, the host was very welcoming and the bartender friendly and helpful. The server was very attentive without being intrusive and the food was great. After dinner we were able to sit and finish our conversation without being made to feel guilty or rushed. An overall very enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend Bella Notte to others for lunch or dinner.
We loved it! It was our first time visiting. The linguini and clam sauce was outstanding. Love how they serve their olive oil. Will definitely go back!
Good small Italian work large portions. Service could be better and more small restaurant like. Disappointed that although when making reservations we were celebrating or son's birthday and again when ordering, no mention of the same.
I love this place, Ramon and his staff are fantastic
