Bella Mia Ratings and Reviews
The food is delicious and the ambiance is warm with contemporary touches. Staff was very attentive, polite and helpful. The menu is extensive, offering several fish, veal and beef dishes in addition to the traditional Italian fare. We really enjoyed our meals here and plan to return again soon.
Was a bit disappointed. Birthday for my son was requested on reservation. Did not mention it again, but would of thought it would be still acknowledged. Never got a birthday dessert. Service was just ok. I've been there before and owner would come by, did not this time.
I made reservations for New Years Eve a couple weeks ago. We arrived at about 7:45 for our 8pm reservations. Stood for 45 minutes waiting packed in like sardines. We finally left at 8:30 which still hadn’t seated anyone yet, and went to Palermo’s for our New Years Eve dinner. I am very disappointed by who ever set this up and managed it. I feel it was greed that made it the madness it was. I was so upset and was so excited to have dinner at Bella Mia. Only to be disappointed. I hope you can get it together.
We had an enjoyable evening. Food was great and prices were very reasonable. Wine was half price and the servings were generous. The server was very friendly although she seemed rushed. I don't think this was her fault as while we were having a short conversation the hostess came by and tapped her arm. Would certainly return.
We really liked Bella Mia - it was very good. - It was xmas eve and very busy - totally understand that the waitress was very busy! But just trying to get water and bread was very difficult. We asked several times and we even asked the bus boy for water in which he did finally get us some. The folks next to us came much later and seemed to get their soup, salad and food a lot quicker than we did. But we will be back and try it again.
Decent place they seats a good number of people. Great service and owner/manager walked around which was nice. I had the lemon chicken. It was good but not lemony. I'll try the place again. However, upon leaving there was a man riding his bike up to car windows begging for money which was disconcerting. I think this would be terribly scarey for a woman getting into car alone.
Quite impressed with this place. Reminded me of a Italian throw back restraunt, I was waiting for Al Capone and the boys to walk-in!
Food fantastic, service impeccable and enjoyed the background music perfect volume level to hear and you could still carry on a conversation at the table.
My wife and I visited for the first time. Our waitress was friendly and gave us her suggestions for meals. The room was noisy when the entertainment began, such that my wife and I had to constantly lean in towards each other to talk. But then we were sitting near the front where the entertainment was stationed. So not sure how the volume was through out the rest of the room.
The meals (Lasagna and Chicken Bella Mia over angel hair pasta) were just ok. We both said there was something missing in flavor. I compared the Lasagna to On-Cor and the chicken dish was bland - could have used more kick to it - maybe some pine nuts.
The price was reasonable. Tip: ask for the house wine, almost $2/glass cheaper than the wine list.
It was our first time at Bella Mia and it won't be our last. This is a quirky, fun, neighborhood gem of an Italian restaurant, complete with the family feel and the good old neighborhood atmosphere. The food was very good and the servers were definitely in the neighborhood mode... a lot of chatter and hustle and bustle... like being part of the family. Went here for a birthday celebration and we will return! We decided to take dessert home with us and they were disappointed that they couldn't put a candle in it and sing!!! That's like being part of the family!!! Mangia!!!
This restaurant is always an excellent choice and most satisfying. However, note to Open Table: please consider changing the descriptive word for rating. I would have given maximum stars but the word OUTSTANDING is much too strong for any review and seems just too much. I could definitely go with EXCELLENT and have no trouble if it was the 5th star. It is an ultimate superlative without being over reaching.
