Bella Luna - NYC Ratings and Reviews
Have eaten at Bella Luna several times and the food is always excellent: fresh, tasty, top quality & reasonably priced for a NYC restaurant. All the salads are great, I had the seafood pasta entree (amazing), and everyone was happy w/their entrees as well. The vibe is fun, positive energy. This past Sunday (MLK wkend) we came for an early dinner after a movie. Our waiter though was a bit intense from the beginning, got testy when we were not ready to order & towards then end, made it apparent we needed to leave. It's the first time I left Bella Luna feeling uncomfortable. But b/c the food & vibe are so good, we will still come back.
I am giving 5 stars because I am not sure you can beat the price-quality ratio they put out all the time. This is a go to place for delivery for us. We had family visiting and they wanted Italian. We shared the muscles for an App. We ordered the Lobster Ravioli, Ravioli Basilica, Chicken Parm and Chicken Piccata, all delicious. Spout the tiramisu and Ricotta cheesecake, fresh and delicious. Worth the walk on a cold night
Went to dinner here with three others and we were all impressed by the food. Chicken parm, eggplant parm, and rigatoni alla nocina. The food was served warm and was very tasty. The chicken and eggplant was tender and the saudage in the nocina was plentiful. The tomato sauce is slightly sweet, which we wll enjoyed. Service was excellent. Quick water refills, bread and oil on the table. Oh - and the bruschetta was outstanding - chopped tomatoes marinated perfectly. Looking forward to returning when the weather gets warmer.
Bella Luna was recommended by a friend and it was great. The food was wonderful, reasonably priced and the menu variety suited our family's varied tastes. The atmosphere and location are also great. The waiter provided good service but was a bit lackluster in his interactions with us.
I have enjoyed this place since we moved to NYC in 2012. It is a quality spot with very reasonable options and excellent service. My husband and I are vegetarian and they have some great pasta options and often a special that is vegetarian as well. Beers are $7 and entrees are reasonable around $12-$16. This is a solid option in our regular rotation of places we enjoy.
I had seen the restaurant from a bus window and was enchanted by the name. Made reservation for three for lunch. It was darker than necessary and not very welcoming. The waitress was nice and not very observing or helpful. When water was spilled on the table, we were the ones to hunt down napkins, which stayed on the table while wet. The male counterpart looked really angry and put upon. The food was all right, nothing special. The chocolate cake was very good and very chocolate! They didn't make us feel pushed out, which was good as we lingered. I'd like to rave. Cannot. Good thing. - excellent flooring reduced chair scraping noise and lovely rest room.
Now in its new location a block away from the prior restaurant...Bella Luna is still one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants for the last 22 years! Went with a friend and had delicious salmon and split a shrimp pesto dish. Shared a lovely bottle of Malbec. Price tag is exceptional and the flavors and consistency are always reliable. You don't need any excuse to have a great meal at Bella Luna!
Very good casual Italian dining on Upper West Side. Went with the family for a late lunch after a visit to the Museum of Natural History, worth the extra few blocks walk. Very good traditional Italian food, reasonable prices and affordable wine list. Friendly and patient waiters. Enjoyable meal.
Our party of three ordered a pasta dish each. All three were underwhelming. The speed of service was decent, but we enjoyed a better rapport with the bus boy than the waiter. The restaurant is well set up and tables have a decent spread. Unfortunately the food didn’t live up to expectations.
