Went to Bella Luna for a birthday dinner with my dad who I don't speak to very often, and I think the environment was definitely part of why it went so well! We were in there for more than three hours (!!!) and they never made us feel guilty for being at the table that long. We did apps, dinner, and a free dessert because of the birthday, and the servers were great, the food was great, and my dad (who is picky) felt good about it too. Thanks, Bella Luna, for your help in me reconciling my relationship with my dad lol!

Great varied menu with friendly efficient service. Tables are comfortable with high tops available at the bar. The room is comfortable with moderate noise levels. We started with calamari (tender, moist with great crust) followed by salmon with bok choi. Drinks are also well made and generous. Parking made easy in an adjacent lot. A place to visit often.

Excellent food--fresh, flavorful, varied, distinctive, and reasonably priced. The "vibe" of the place was very warm and inviting, the service friendly and pleasant. While I appreciated the live background music very much, perhaps it could have been less percussive, and thereby less intrusive (although it wasn't unbearable by any means).

Recommended by a local and did not disappoint! Beware it is a little hard to find on the street, no sign and very small. We got to sit in the window and saw beautiful pink sky and people watching while we are ate amazing pasta dishes. It’s a place where you feel like you’ve just been served a home cooked Italian meal! Don’t forget your cash!

Bella Luna is always great! The pizza and specials are really good as is the beer selection. I enjoyed the Sam Adams New England IPA. The picture is a Harpoon IPA and the Pizza Menino. The servers always seem to be happy to be there and happy to see me. The atmosphere is warm whether sitting inside or outside. Awesome!

As usual Bella Luna did not disappoint us. We ordered the Menino pizza and the kale Caesar salad. The pizza was one of the best we've ever had (and we're a little particular about pizza). The crust was golden and airy, the cheese was just right, and the meats did not overwhelm the fresh tomato flavor. The kale salad is dressed with a lemony/garlicky dressing that is subtle and to die for. It's not at all sweet, thank goodness. It's the perfect companion to the fresh, tender kale. The salad is served with enough shredded Asiago and tiny croutons that are a perfect counterpoint to the dressing. The only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was that the service was not very attentive. We wanted crushed red pepper for the pizza, but our server didn't come back to see if we needed anything - finally, I had to walk to the host to get the pepper. And when I asked the server to pack up the remains of my kale salad, he forgot. However, it was Labor Day weekend, and they might have been short-staffed. I don't know. All in all, we recommend Bella Luna heartily - you won't be disappointed.

I love this local neighborhood place and have been going there since they opened. Always great vibe and staff is very customer focused. Food is always great and reasonably priced. Had the spinach fettuccine and lobster pasta which was delicious. Wish is was on the regular menu!

I love going to Bella Luna for the ambiance & good service (most of the time). However, I feel as though you never know what you’re gonna get when it comes to the food. Several menu items change periodically and some are good, while others are not so good. Even when you order standard menu items it’s a toss-up. Sometimes the pizza and calamari are on the money, and other times they are not. This past Thursday they had a Cuban steak dish on the menu which was beautifully presented but the execution was beyond wrong (I’m hispanic so I know). The teriyaki salmon was just ok. Even the butter pasta was bland - no salt, no garlic... my daughter barely touched her food. We will continue going because we just love the feel of the place, the outside deck, it’s close to home, and the food quality surprise adds a layer of “excitement” (if I were to try to put a positive spin on it). I certainly did not appreciate having to come home to prepare after dinner snacks because we were hungry again within an hour of getting home.

i love bella luna. the food is always properly prepared, the waitstaff are friendly and accommodating, the price is right. and it's a local neighborhood restaurant with a proven record of staying power in j.p.

The food was fine, but the mixed drinks were overpriced and awful. The pizza looked good; I regretted having ordered something else. Marguerita tasted like it was from a premixed bottle. Appetizer portions were small. Overpriced.

Fun and relaxed, outdoor seating on a lovely evening was great. The host and server were super. Strange to have a veggie burger on the menu but not make it vegan.

We were able to sit outside. Noise level was OK. Salad, main courses and dessert were very good. It's one of our favorite spots, especially if we can sit outside.

I was pretty nervous (I get that way around pretty girls) so I put too much ketchup on my burger and spilled water everywhere. I told her I want to be cremated and have my ashes fed to people which may have been the reason she left halfway through the dinner and said it wasn’t going to work out between us. The food and service was phenomenal though, would recommend! I don’t want to die alone

It was my first visit and I loved it! The food and beer were great. The portions were perfect. The atmosphere very friendly and lively. It would have been nice - but I may be quibbling - if the live music weren't quite so loud. All said, I'll definitely go back.
