First off, I booked online several days prior to Xmas Eve. We got there on time but they had no record of not only us but ANYONE booking online nor by phone. Some people waited almost an hour to be seated with reservations. This was the 2nd & LAST time we will go there. It only took us about 15 minutes to be seated. The service is great, however, the food was mediocre at best especially for the price. We ordered the salmon oscar. It was just adequate. The decor screams, "hey, the 1980's want their walls & decor back" It's small & stuffy feeling. There is so much more they could do to improve this place with the clientele in this community that can certainly afford it. It's really sad, the owner could spend a little money & make this shine but is apparently a bit out of touch with keeping up to date.
Food and Value are great. Noise level became unbearable. We were two people, and finally had to quit talking. We were practically screaming to be heard. If we go again, it will be at a time when we can sit outside. Hopefully that will help. When we dine out, it's a rare special occasion. Ambiance is important to us.
We have dined at Bella Luna many times and we are always pleased with the quality, service and price. It is one of our favorite Italian restaurants!
Not greeted very promptly, made open dining reservation and listed 2 birthdays and was not recognized. I did not mention it to the server because I thought it would be recognized without even saying we didn't want dessert, just bring the celebratory item to the table without even asking, so I speculated the server was not advised. We had a good celebration last time there and also went thru Open table listing B days. The lamb chop special which has been the same, used to be good, lamb chops were cooked ok, but the overly sweet sweet potatoes and asparagus all floating in melted mint jelly was not very tasty.Leave out the sweet potatoes and put that jelly in a small bowl on the side. Mussels still good, veal was good, but have noticed a change going on here. Seems to have become a bit more generic than it used to be. Service was ok but not as attentive as it used to be. The bus person came by several times and I was not finished, it is a good thing to have good bus people but at the right time and don't pick up the dishes until all diners at the table are done, feels pushy doing that. Menu needs to get revised and specials need to be recreated.
Made reservation. On arrival found that they had no space and the wait would be as much as 30 minutes. No real explanation as to why reserved space was not available. Placed at a table by the entrance to the kitchen where I had service staff working hard not to collide with my back. The table for four should never be there. Waiter was the worst I have experienced anywhere in quite sometime. Took 15 minutes to get a drink order taken. Delivered three salads and forgot the soup. Did not bring bread until the salads were served which was about 30 minutes after we first sat down. Timing of service for rest of the meal was very slow, and we were offered no explanation, no apology for the time or anything. He did offer ersatz European brusque, surly disposition.
We have dined there many times over a 10+ year period. Service has always been good, the food is awesome. It was embarrassing to have taken out of town guests there after raving about the place and have such a dismal experience. If it was not for the food, we would probably never go back.
The food was definitely 5 star. My wife ordered the Chicken Special and I ordered the Veal Oscar. I asked for Fettuccini Alfredo in lieu of the spaghetti marinara. The waiter happily made the change. The appetizer, salads, and entrees, were all spaced out perfectly. Tommy, our waiter was very attentive the entire evening. All in all, Bella Luna was the perfect choice.
We make Bella Luna our usual after the Saturday NASCAR race dinner stop. We can count on the service and food to be top notch. We'll be back!
Second time we have eaten here. Very busy, very loud. Food was average, service was slightly better
The food and service was great. Great menus and good wine list. The people were very professional and courteous
The food was fresh, homemade an delicious. Our waitress, Nicole, went out of her way to be accommodating. She had a delightful and humorous personality as we bannered back and forth with her.
We've been there many times. The food is always fresh and alive with flavors that don't come out of a can or jar. It's real Italian food.
I recommend getting a reservation here to ensure you get a table. Location seats avout 60 to 80 people by the looks of it. Great food selection. The wine selection could be a bit better unless your a big Pinot fan. Great place for romantic dinners and company get togethers. Lunch is good and prices over all are decent. Quality is high. Service is high. 4 stars out of five due to the wine selection.
We had high expectations for this hidden Goodyear, AZ gem! Planned a date night and wanted some good Italian. To our surprise our food was extremely bland and flavorless. We both wanted to send our food back but thought it would be rude. I ordered the Clam Linquini and my husband the Salmon Oscar. They both looked wonderful, but lacked any type of flavor. With the long wait time we had for the food, we thought it would have been wonderful. The wine, bread and dipping oil were good, but not when you spend $80 and have to take home the main food that you wont get eaten.
We were a bit disappointed and probably wont be back. Stick to apps and wine if you choose to dine here.
Bella Luna is a neighborhood favorite. It was a birthday celebration, duly noted on the
reservation, but not acknowledged.
It has been awhile since we dined here. Our waiter Simon was friendly and very good. We weren't rushed. Our party of 4 ordered different entrees and each of us were satisfied. The portions are good sized, tasty and not loaded with salt or sauce. The fresh bread basket emptied out fast and deserts were delicious too. The price, portion and service is just right.
