making the wine list more notable every season. The one of a kind brick oven offers a variety of dishes, exceptional pizza and foccacina rabbiola that is hard to find in this city. For something sweeter-the deserts are impressive! The atmosphere is charming in this power playing neighborhood.
What Insiders Are Saying
Walking by Bella Blu, you might assume it’s just like every other mediocre, stuffy restaurant in the Upper East Side. Stuffy, it most certainly is. But it's actually far from mediocre – as long as you order correctly.
My favorite spot to dine! It’s delicious and service impeccable
Great food. Good service. Space can be improved, too tight!
Excellent food and excellent service. I love the restaurant style.
Rado was an excellent server!
on a very hot day they had the from open so that the AC wasn't effective.
Food was god but service rushed us. Noise was high.
A gem in the neighborhood and they never disappoint. Food service and staff (Diana hostess with the mostess and Marco the Manager always delightful. I had the Caesar salad and ravioli with cream sauce very delicious, my husband had the sirloin steak another yummy dinner and our friend had gnocchi with red sauce and it was delicious. To top it off the chocolate flourless cake to die for.
By far one of the best restaurants on the upper east side. The food is delicious and the service impeccable!
We have eaten several times at Bella Blu, and it never disappoints! We are from out of town & love coming here when we are in New York. It has a great neighborhood vibe. Appears to have lots of regular local patrons. And the food is excellent! I highly recommend!
Marcello and Diana are the best. Service and food are great! Everyone make she feel at home always a fun night out!!!
Very European atmosphere with vibrant staff and good food! My friends and family of varying ages all enjoy coming here. You can count on an enjoyable time.
You are greeted warmly when you enter and treated like a member of the family throughout the meal. The bread and dip are superb. Soups were wonderful. Beet salad was great. Dover soke and Chilean sea bass were outstanding.
My first wine was warm. Waiter had attitude. Waited 20 mins for bread.
Great neighborhood restaurant!!
There wasn’t a morsel of food left on anyone’s plate! Food was delicious! Branzino was huge, filleted, moist and flavorful, seafood risotto was outstanding as was pasta with butter the food is consistently excellent.
Nice meal, great ambience, the best of upper east vibe for Italian food. Nice people, great service.
Expensive dessert and they don’t know anything about biscotti - sad.
We have been coming here for a few years but our recent experience was unpleasant due to the excessive noise level, the aggressive crowding and
The poor service. The waiter was cordial but got my entree wrong-probably because he wrote nothing down-and even getting a glass of water was a
Challenge. The food was quite good but my experience is that there are better choices on the UES at these prices.
I ordered fried zucchini flowers. I have often had them in Italy. The order was from the frozen variety available at restaurant supply companies. They were tasteless and soggy.
My salad was adequate.
The apple tart for dessert was very good.
The restaurant was very noisy and very crowded.
Bottle of Amarone was corked....
Been coming to your restaurant for over a decade. Halibut was over cooked-very dry the rest of the plate was not the quality I have been come accustomed to over the years. Service ok
The food and waitstaff seemed authentically Italian. Thanks!
Worth it as usual
Artichoke appetizer was amazing!
Amazing Restaurant! Best food &!best service!
Always a wonderful experience
Dinner was good - place was very lively, and tons of specials in addition to the menu items. Food was tasty (but somewhat expensive). Service was charming. Wine list overpriced.
Unusally quiet fr Bella Blu; good food and service as always!
This is my friend's favorite restaurant and we always go on birthdays. The food and service are always good, if a little slow, and not a little noisy - but that's part of the fun.
A narrow peculiar room with a woman who seems dressed for the beach on a cloudy, cool day marching back and forth attending to business.. Prices are at least elevated to the nabe for lunch. My saltimbocca was a generous, attractive looking plate, despite wilted asparagus tips. Taste varied from bite=to-bite as if a spatula used for fish alternated with the veal. A glass of decent Arneis was charged an extra $4. When pointed out it was rectified, if a bit grumpally. There are better spots in this area.
One of the best a Italian restaurants in New York, not to be missed.
Exceptional food, atmosphere and service.
Always fun at Bella Blu and this time the pizza was as good as it has ever been.
As always the food is terrific at the restaurant. A great deal of variety and the service is excellent. The only downside is the noise level -- sometimes it is hard to hear what others in your dinner party are saying.
Excellent service, delicious food! A favorite restaurant on the upper east side.
I ordered a salad asking for the addition of gorgonzola. Came with something else, maybe Cheddar but definitely not Gorgonzola. When asked I am not sure what the waiter did but say he asked for Gorgonzola. Never got any. Irritating. Waiter did say he wouldn’t charge me anything extra for the cheese.. I was surprised that they would have charged anything even had the cheese been correct
Consistently good Italian food with great pizza and nightly specials. Reasonable priced, very attentive service.
I cannot recall ever having a bad meal there.
Their menu selection is excellent.
I especially like their salads.
But I cannot understand the noise factor.
We last went there very early for dinner.
The music was deafening.
When we requested they turn it down, they did.
However, minimally. It still drowned out our conversation!!!
Good food. Good service. Good ambience. Good experience.
Fabulous restaurant. Impeccable service. Excellent food. Shared a number of things and the waiter knew exactly what to do as far as having everything split in the kitchen. Some restaurants just come out with the one dish and a blank dish and expect you to do it yourself. This first-class establishment knows how to treat you, and it was our first time dining here. Had a nice bottle of wine. No room for dessert. Would definitely return to be with all the beautiful people.
Excellent food and service. A true neighborhood gem!
It is a great place for any occasion. My favorite in NYC.
