Bella Aquila Ratings and Reviews
We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary but no one asked us about it. Waiter did not introduce himself. He was a tad cold. It was disappointing. However, the food was absolutely amazing. We are still talking about it. For this we would return but not expect much if it’s a special occasion.
Took about 10 min. before anyone came to our table to find out what we wanted to drink. Waitress did apologize but she seemed to have quite a few tables to take care of & was trying her best to get to everyone. She finally got extra help later to help her we noticed. The waitress was a sweetheart trying to make sure we had a nice evening & the food when it arrived was great! Loved the gluten free option on the menu for my wife. She was very happy with that!
Food just wasn't very good. NY steak was served cold. Not undercooked, but cold. Kitchen replaced it with a good one, but by the time it was served, the rest of us at the table had already eaten. Manager comp'd that dinner. It was the only time I'd eaten there, so I relied on good reviews on Open Table and Yelp. I see no point in ever going back to this restaurant.
Bella Aquila continues to impress as a great place to bring people. The food is wonderful and the menu has a large selection of Italian dishes. Prices are reasonable, especially for the quality you get. Service is always friendly and able to offer suggestions when you need them.
I've been coming for years to this restaurant with friends. We are a picky group and like good service and great food so I guess that means that we still get what we want! This last trip the service was very slow and very busy for a Saturday night but when the food arrived it was well worth it. The new owner, Chad, son of the old owner, Bill, stopped by our table and offered us a nice bottle of Raymond Cabernet in appreciation of our patience which we happily accepted. We thought initially that the change in ownership would translate to poor service and/or not very good food but it's still awesome. Like BIll, Chad was out on the floor interacting with customers making sure their needs were met. This is definitely, hands down, most certainly, the best Italian restaurant in town. It's by far better than any place in my area of Temecula. I look forward to it ever year in our travels to Idaho from California and will most certainly be there this time next year if not sooner--can't wait!
The food was good as always but the service was very slow. Our waiter was apologetic but it took over 90 minutes to be served. Our appetizers came promptly, but the main course was ridiculously long in coming. We saw many tables that came after we did be served and finished before we got our food.
We may give them one more chance, but if the service does not dramatically improve, we won't be back.
Bella Aquila is pretty, the food it tasty, the atmosphere is great, the service is terrible. Mostly just slow, like an hour till you get your food kinda slow. And they forgot to include the chicken with the pasta dish.
Overall nice restaurant but plan on spending 2+hrs for dinner.
The food was of high quality and very good. The service was slow and inefficient--which was the first time we'd experienced less than good service at this restaurant. Had made the reservation as a special occasion for a birthday and there was no acknowledgement of this at any time.
We have had dinner and brunch here several times and enjoy it for the quiet ambiance and patio dining. My salmon was excellent, my friend loved her chicken marsala, and my husband rated his pasta dish average. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. All-in-all, we had a very nice, relaxing evening.
We gave it another try thinking it might have just been the waiter we had; but a different waiter and the service was so slow. I really think there is a management problem as they only had one waitress inside and two outside for the whole restaurant. The food and location is good but they really need to get more help.
Fantastic patio atmosphere. Love the fountains, the live music, beautiful setting. I have yet to have good service at this restaurant and I've tried several times for the ambiance alone. This last experience was no different. We sat for an hour before being brought beverages and then we were told there was a possible OJ shortage, or maybe someone in the kitchen lost the OJ- they didn't know. It's not a bottomless mimosa if you see the bottom. If you can't refill the glass-
you shouldn't charge your customers for it. We were there for about an hour and forty minutes before our food was finally served. It was cold. Portions were small and shrunken looking. The eggs were very runny. The order was messed up, items forgotten. It's really sad. They have a great looking menu. It's a shame they can't deliver. Of course- they went ahead and added a tip for themselves automatically. Makes you wonder if doing that is the only way the servers ever get tipped! In fairness- he was a nice guy, and really sweating. I believe he tried. But leaving there after the 2 hour mark, still hungry and with a slightly upset tummy. I won't be back. My son then reminded me of the time we tried to eat there before and the server lost my credit card. I'm clearly a glutton for punishment attempting to go back! I'm at the point where it doesn't matter how awesome that patio is- unless I can have food delivered it's just not worth giving them my money.
Food - nothing special, pricey, stingy amt on the extra paid for seafood add-on; bread - bland, tasted frozen and heated up, blah; but you don't come here for the food, you come for the ambiance
Service - timid; also a bit slow but maybe that was the kitchen
Atmosphere - very pretty on outside patio; built waterfall feature on patio and view of water are the main draws of the ambiance; inside is quite pleasant
