As always, an exceptional experience at Belga, with perfect beer and wine pairings with the delicious food. It's our GO TO restaurant on Capitol Hill.
Had a wonderful meal and great service. Highly recommend Belga Cafe.
Cold bad food fake Belgian food too expensive for that quality of the food. Very cold inside you need a coat
Great dinner - staff was excellent - even dealt with a homeless person with calm and dignity. Your folks made the evening a special time and we thank you.
- Very rushed waiters and only focused on turning the tables too quickly.
- Fresh juices are not what they are advertised for in the menu - I was told to get a fresh carrot juice and got a clearly not fresh juice-like beverage instead, which I returned immediately. No apology offered.
- We were asked to leave shortly after an hour since the reservation, because they were very rushed to turn the table around.
- It was very noisy already at 10:13am.
Great and excellent food. The staff always welcoming and professional. Staff make you feel welcome and special.
Knowledgeable staff helped first timers understand the array of choices and when asked questions they were unsure of the answer they checked with those that did know. All four of us were highly satisfied with out drink and food choices. All of us were delighted with the quality of noise level.
The hostess served two other spoken before me and when we were finally served it was to a table way in the back. I will not be returning
The food was excellent. The service was outstanding. We could easily get a reservation for breakfast. It was open at 9a.m. for brunch. The place across the street had a 90 wait, and doesn't take reservations.
Excellenr breakfast. Never had as tasty green eggs and brioche with egg and truffel cheese was great too. Highly recommend.
Tuna tartare was very bad.
Kaaskroketten not tasting well.
Crème brûlée disgusting. Separated with large pieces in.
If you want to know how food is made in Europe in general, and in Belgium or France in particular, this is the place to eat. And fortunately the staff know their job, as it should be done in Europe. But friendlier :) !
Don't forget to taste the special beers and to look at the extended wine list.
Belga was unable to serve the drinks we ordered until halfway through the meal. They served the wrong dish twice and overcooked the steak on half the plates. The server didn’t even acknowledge the issue but tried to blame the kitchen before setting down the check.
I’ve enjoyed Belga Cafe for years - a great Barracks Row restaurant with excellent food and drinks.
We had an early dinner here before one of the World Series games, and it was a great break from the usual bar food right next to the ballpark. Specialty, of course, is Belgian food, and we ordered a parsnip and pear soup, a beet salad, Belgian fries, and a crab-stuffed waffle, more or less shared, nice to have the different tastes. We had an ice cream dessert to share with Belgian chocolate sauce, delicious. I’d like to go back to try more things at this low-key place.
Nice breakfast brunch spot. A bit too expensive for the portion size and food. Service was quick and good but felt some tension and irritation with the server and touch of snootiness. Maybe that was part of them trying to be authentic French Belgian.
As usual food and service very good. Only issue was noise level which was because we were near kitchen nut looking forward to return.
I thought it was expensive for Belgian Wafles.
We were not provided waters or the drinks we ordered for over thirty minutes. I provided an update on the reservation the day before but perhaps the staff was confused and thought we still had people coming that we were waiting on? So twenty minutes in I went to eat them know we were not waiting for anyone else and needed to be seen. Still weren’t seen for another fifteen.
Great experience as always. Omar makes you feel welcome right away and is very knowledgeable about menu options. Go here. You won’t be disappointed.
Very good food! The chef and his team are very kind. The meat was perfectly cooked and the Americain was fresh!
Good place to go in a nice neighborhood
We had a wonderful dining experience for our daughter’s 12th birthday. This restaurant would be perfect for any special occasion, date night or just meeting friends. We will definitely go back when we visit DC.
The best and truest Belgium food in the area!
Best beer pairing dinner ever!!!
I stand by this res
Overall, we had a great time...we had a reservation but we had to wait about 20 mins for them to accommodate our group of 8. They got big kudos because they provided us a free drink, while we waited, due the inconvenience. Our waiter’s customer service was great as well.
We've enjoyed our brunch at Belga Cafe! it was fantastic, food was great and everything was just amazing! highly recommend
The food and service were outstanding! I had the simple and fresh Belgian waffle and my hunny had the strawberry fields. Both were amazing! When we visit again we will be back.
Baked Mussels served with crusty bread to mop all the delicious bits
Bloody Mary with Celery Foam with just the right amount of spicy kick
Hash Brown waffle with poached eggs and turkey jerk bacon
A perfect cup of coffee with a individual cinnamon roll waffle
Now that's a 5 star brunch!!!!
Service was great. All of us had and enjoyed classic mussels and fries. They were as good as we found in Belgium.
As usual, our meal was superb, and the service was impeccable but friendly and unassuming.
Always dependable for an excellent experience. One of those places I take visiting family and friends to for a great experience. The brunch is legendary
The food was great. They were willing to accommodate some food allergies. Only complaint was the music was too loud to have a conversation. They did turn it down for us for a while, but after 20 minutes the volume crept back up again.
We had dinner to celebrate our son’s 31st birthday we are regular patrons of the restaurant and and are always pleased! The food is excellent service is excellent we spend many nights celebrating at Belga and we’re very pleased!
After waiting for 50 minutes for our food at lunch with no explanation for the delay from a waiter or host, we had to leave without eating.
Belga is still one of my favs as the 8th corridor continues to be gentrified. I will definitely come back again!
We typically are big fans of Belga but this time was horrible. The waiter was slow and unknowable of the food and beverages, which is a problem with a largish menu and an excellent beer selection. We were there for almost 3 hours and didn’t order apps. Additionally, the food is normally wonderful but this time was less than par. Both the beef stew and short ribs were under cooked and tough, and the fries were cold. It was a disappointing dinner with our family in town.
Amazing as always
My husband and I brought our mothers to brunch. We both love Belga's brunch and were excited to take them there. We requested patio seating which worked out well as the weather was fantastic. I was surprised, however, that they crammed all four of us into a small table. I have eaten at Belga with a party of four several times and, every other time, have been seated at a larger table (two small tables pushed together, for example). But despite the fact that the patio never filled up during our brunch (there was always at least one empty table), they chose to cram us in, even commenting once or twice about how tight it was. Because we love their brunch, we ordered entrees, sides, drinks, etc. It would not fit. We literally had to use the little seat on my mother's walker to hold coffee, tea, and plates of food. The servers just laughed. Ridiculous.
Great time celebrating Belga Cafe reopening!
