This was my first visit. My wife has been asking me to try this restaurant. I loved it from the ambiance, the services, the menu, and of course, the wonderful food. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other selections

We stay here twice a year on our birthdays -- always attentive service, good breakfast and fancy dinners. And Sandwich is a nice little town for a few good shops, walks, especially out a boardwalk to the ocean.

This was our 3rd visit to the Restaurant. The first two were quite satisfying. However, the last visit (on Sat\ night 10/28) was very disappointing. We invited two friends to join us for dinner. Two orders were of the monkfish. At a price of $28, the portion was very small and the quality was average. The fish was dry. There were hardly any other sides included with this dish. The other two meals were the salmon. It was served in some kind of watery broth that had no real taste. There was also very little added on the plate. The menu said rice noodles, which was a dried array of noodles that had very little taste. All in all, it was a very disappointing meal. We walked out hungry and felt that we clearly overpaid for a meal that was not worth the price.

This was an excellent dining experience! We were hosting friends from overseas and it was the perfect place to get together. The food was very creative and was excellent. The service was impeccable and the ambience extremely pleasant. We will be back.

Wonderful atmosphere. Of the three meals 2 dinners was much too salty. Would try again however, the bar was a lively place.

It had been a number of years since we had enjoyed the Belfry, but like a fine wine, it grew better with age. We've always loved our dining experience, but this was exceptional. We celebrated a friend's 75th and not only was the food delicious, but the staff took wonderful care of us and the birthday boy. We won't wait years to return!

The ambiance is superb - a beautiful towering former church complete with many stained glass windows. Great outdoor eating area to match the indoor charming rustic and cozy environment. Finally, a restaurant with plenty of on-premises parking (accommodations for previous church attendees). The wine list and sommelier are the best the Cape has to offer. Can find no fault with the service. Menu, a pleasant and satisfying variant from most resataurants' standard fare. A real fireplace blazing away with an inviting and welcoming glow.
The price of a meal -- quite reasonable; unless you insist on a boutique rare wine priced as it should be.
What is not to like?

Church restoration makes for a unique dining experience. Food was very good and unique as well. Only issue the salmon was over cooked. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. Would recommend a visit.

An overall excellent dining experience in a comfortable setting. The food was excellent. Service was a bit slow but the restaurant was at full capacity accounting for this. It was worth the extra wait.

We had10 in our party and everyone was on time. Waitress was very friendly but very slow with our drink menu. We all thought she left. Our service was slow. Way too much noise to have a conversation across the table and as the place filled so did the noise compound that with a piano player. I think the menu could be broadened. Only fish was Monk and Salmon. We were there to catch up with old friends so some wait was okay. To be honest our waitress may have had too many tables.

Wonderful dinner. The server, Lynn, was excellent. She was honest about our dining choices, and quite a character. The autumn salad was wonderful, the dressing was right on! I had the best duck I've ever had. If I closed my eyes, I'd think I was eating filet mignonette. Tender and flavorful. My husband had the fondue. Don't order it. It is very difficult to eat. The cheese container is too small and it was very stringy. Too difficult to dip the food into. He ended up with a ton of left over vegetables and no cheese to dip them in. He loved the mussels, however. Dessert was milk donuts with cardamom sauce. Outstanding. Great cocktails also.

anniversary. hate to write a bad review but the dinner was so-so. apps..hers was duck tartin. dry on a piece of nearly-burnt toast. mine: foie-gras that was to die for...excellent. mains: hers was monkfish. small piece that was overcooked. i got the short ribs..no 'ribs', which was okay, piece of meat about as big as the back of your hand, slightly dry and very run-of-the-mill. veggies with it were very good. definitely NOT worth the price. drinks were, again, nothing special. desserts, i had 'hot fudge' (molten choc.cake, whipped cream) hers: 'milk donuts'..which were donut balls with supposedly caramel gellato, which turned out to be pistachio ice cream. the donut balls were very tasty. our server was attentive and polite, and very busy as it seemed there was only one other waitress and he was somewhat overburdened. so all in all we were expecting an outstanding meal and the two stars were my app and her dessert. i dont mind paying a rather hefty bill for an excellent dinner, but this was not it.

my first thought is that this is one of those restaurants that punishes couples by seating them at very small tables about 10" from another couple. If you are a party of 4 or more you get to sit at a table that is not right on top of your neighbor. I resent restaurants that do that to just 2 people. All conversation comes to a screeching halt as soon as the table next to us is seated. the food was mediocre. the clam chowder was good but the Bolognese was ok. My wife's chicken was so dry she really didn't eat it. I mean come on, when you cook for a living you can produce juicy chicken. the best thing was dessert, it was delicious, kudos to the pastry chef. We will not be rushing back there and to be honest if anyone asks us to recommend it , I do it with hesitancy.

The food was good , better than most restaurants on the cape. While it is a little pricey; I'd rather pay more for great ambience and service.
I would recommend to anyone.
The tuna tartare was fabulous. !!!

Usually love this place. But wife said scallops were only so-so. My pasta bolognese was great! Friend ordered mussels--oops none delivered! Our friends had trouble with the menu. Chef should have been able to make Russian dressing for me. Would like to see shrimp cocktail, steamers, stuffed mushrooms on the menu. Just a bit pricey.

This was our first time at the Belfry and the experiance here is excellent from the Maitre D to the Bartender to the waitress to the piano player. I have yet to come across a staff this good. We decided to have appetizers for dinner and this was a great decision. We had the scallops, mussels, The Saint Andre, the tartin and the summer green salad. For dessert we had the banana split, peach crisp and gooey choc. cake.
Everything was excellent. We would definately go back!

The atmosphere is phenomenal; the food is amazing. The service this time around wasn't very good and it wasn't because they were overly busy. We did have reservations for Sunday evening due to the busy Cape season. The drinks were slow coming, our waitress brought the wrong beer, then spilt the bottle on the table. We ordered 2 sides of asparagus, only 1 came but we were charged for 2, adjustment was made for the overcharge...I really believe she needs to be trained again at serving.

What a charming conversion of a church into a destination culinary experience. The kitchen is enormously creative. And don't forget to consider eating outside in the garden in the right weather! The service, by the way, was five-star all by itself.

What a gorgeous building, inside and out. The tables are far apart, which is a nice change from a lot of dining rooms. The bar at one end is appealing.

A friend enjoyed her entree, but my cod was boring and lacked flavor, which was also true of the accompaniments.

We enjoyed the special appetizer -- a flat bread with some cheese, tomatoes, greens.

Maybe I'm nit-picking, but the waiter delivered my dish by reaching across the friend sitting next to me. This is not a diner, it's a gorgeous restaurant.

First time to the Belfry and it won't be our last. Beautiful restaurant with historic architecture provides a wonderful atmosphere. The food was outstanding. The appetizers (crab salad & gazpacho) were tasty and refreshing. The filet mignon was large and cooked to perfection, one of the best we have ever had. For dessert, a chocolate cake with sea salt caramel gelato was a great finish. The wine list provided a lot of options (although the selection of wines by the glass was very limited and not as intriguing). Our server (Lynn) was terrific, professional and personable, always available when we needed her. Piano music provided a nice background but wasn't intrusive. Definitely recommend it for a special occasion.

This was my second trip to the Belfry this year and was certainly less pleased with the menu offerings than the first. A seasonal menu makes for a challenge when you find something you truly enjoy. For this go around I had the salmon and fennel and was disappointed. Additionally we had a member of our party order the Wagyu burger with nothing on it and had to send it back twice. The piano music was fantastic, hoping to recreate the first experience in the next trip when the menu rolls over again...

The ambiance is great, as the bistro is set in an old, beautifully repurposed church with stained glass windows, lots of oak and period lighting fixtures. The tables are well-spaced, which together with the high ceilings, makes it easy to converse. The foie gras and PEI mussel appetizers were very good, but the carved lamb loin main course was disappointing. Though slightly overcooked, the tender mean and generous portions did not make up for the absence of the distinctive gamy flavor which makes lamb so special.
