My daughter's boyfriend has never been to the restaurant so we took him there for dinner. We enjoyed the meals very much. We will go back again and again.
Had a great night. Food was awesome and the service was great. We both had the Filet Mignon which was cooked perfectly. The vegetables were extremely tasty. Been there several times and have never been disappointed.
We had a very delicious meal and tremendous service. I would recommend this to anyone in the area and definitely worth the drive up. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and our dinner made the occasion that much more memorable.
We have been going to the Belfry for Valentine's Day for the past several years and have enjoyed our evening out every time.
Very relaxing, great piano music that's not too loud, and the food is always great.
Never had any problems.
Very enjoyable dinner on Valentie's Day. Service was a little slow however the room was totally full which I had never seen here before. Our waiter was very good. Food was excellent as is normal. A little exoensive; but we enjoy the Belfry Bistro
We got married at the Belfry, so it is always a joy to visit. Everything is impeccable, from food to wine to service to ambience in this thoughtful and beautiful space. Thanks to Chris for his incredible curating of a historical gem in the town of Sandwich, for creating this uplifting space for all to enjoy. We always leave feeling happy, satisfied, and genuinely inspired.
Excellent service and great food. Wonderful time. Thank you
Excellent meal, outstanding service (Kim was our waitress) and ambiance, including an accomplished pianist during the evening. Pricey.. but worth it for a special occasion,
We had an excellent meal, something that doesn’t happen everywhere on New Year’s Eve .
Service was attentive but not overbearing. Drinks and wine were very good. I highly recommend it.
I had been wanting to go here for a while. I have heard great things. I reserved a table with Open Table and told them it was to celebrate a 60th birthday. When we were seated, the Host wished my friend a happy birthday, but that was the last of it. My friends are foodies and I was excited to treat them to a good experience. Her husband loved the clam chowder, she and I shared the Foie gras, which was almost burt to a crisp. I had the short ribs for the main course that was recommended and was good. Her husband had a cod dish which he like. She didn't say much about her pasta dish, which means it was just OK. For dessert, we ordered a eggnog Crème Brûlée that was hard, like it was old and unflavorful. We ordered the brownie sundae that was a square piece of brownie, a smear of hot fudge that was dried out and a dollop of whip cream. Very uninspired. Something was burt, not sure if was the brownie or the hot fudge. We mentioned to our waiter, and also that my friends birthday wasn't even acknowledged, even with a candle on the brownie. He ran away, but did remove the desserts from the check. I am guessing the regular chef was not working that Thursday night.
While the ambience is good but the food was less than to be expected. I have dined here before in the past and the food was exquisite but this occasion not one person in our party of 8 had a good meal. The cod was very dry and pasty, the meat was overdone, the duck was gamey, and our waitstaff took a long time to take our order for both drinks and the meal. This was on a day when the restaurant was half empty as well. While the location is one of a kind, in a renovated church, the food and waitstaff left much to be desired. I would have hoped for almost $500 to give my out of town guests more of an experience.
We had a great time. Love the restaurant. Great food .
Food was just incredibly ordinary and quite expensive. No one was raving about their dinner. Won't be back.
Our dining experience was perfect. The server polite and attentive. Food was delicious and an interesting menu. The piano music was great especially because its the Christmas season.
The food was tremendous and the service was excellent. Highly recommended.
This is a very beautiful restaurant located in an old church. I found the food to be good, but not spectacular.
We are there for diner, but we have been there for lunch and it has been very good.
We had a wonderful time with friends at The Belfry. The rib shank was excellent. Service was a little slow getting drinks and placing our order. However, there was no rush to leave which was great because the music and ambiance were very enjoyable.
Always a pleasure! Truly grateful to Chris and his staff for offering this beautiful gift of a place to our community: perfect ambience, decor, outstanding food and service...whenever we just need a reminder of how wonderful the world still can be, we take ourselves to the Belfry.
We went there for our Anniversary Saturday. We ordered the 3 course dinner and the waitresse told us it was small portions. We said how small and she said very tiny . Well we figured it was on the menu it couldn’t be that small . She didn’t look happy. She made us feel so uncomfortable after that . She brought us our 3 courses out so quickly. She barely made eye contact with us or spoke to us . We couldn’t wait to leave. We would of been better off eating at the brown jug and having pizza. Most likely will not be back . So much for celebrating 35 years of marriage at Belfry’s .
Made reservations for our 9th wedding anniversary, We were greeted with 2 flutes of Proseco!
Our waitresses were exceptional. Both our meals were fabulous. Just had an overall wonderful experience all around. Would recommend and will go back for more.
Huge disappointment. We booked this well in advance for a special occasion and had informed the restaurant that we had read about the beautiful ambiance and were excited to experience it. Well...when we arrived they led us through the main dining room with high ceilings, lovely stained glass windows and piano player, past several tables that would have fit our party of eight, and into a small, ugly side room with low ceilings, where we were seated in the furthest corner. I attempted to find the host to ask about switching tables, but he had disappeared and no one knew where he was. It was fully 10 minutes before the server even approached our table to greet us (she apologized). Another long wait before she came back to take our drink order (more about that in a minute) and between each course. The table was not cleared between courses. Dirty dishes from the appetizers were still on the table when the main course arrived. We had to collect them ourselves to make room for the main course. The server could not answer my questions about the extensive wine list. She did not offer to bring a sommelier who could have answered the questions. When they then could not find two bottles of the Russian River Pinot Noir I had ordered, the manager acted as if that was, somehow, my fault. Why not come to the table and explain and offer a substitution? Was it too far a walk from the lovely main dining room? In fact, no one ever came by our table to ask if we were enjoying the meal. The staff (with the exception of our overworked server) acted as though they were annoyed to be working and were doing us a huge favor letting us dine there. The food was fine...nothing special and certainly not worth the prices (and I say that as a New Yorker who has eaten in many an expensive restaurant worth the price). I had been looking forward to celebrating a very special milestone in what would have seemed to be a special restaurant. It was not. We will never return.
A wonderful dining experience with great food and superior service.
We had Thanksgiving dinner here, and the food was excellent. We had the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, but there were some special touches such as the squash chili soup, which was excellent and unexpected.
My wife and daughters and I had a wonderful experience on Thanksgiving day for Dinner. Elegant dining experience in every respect without being too over the top on anything, including the price. Highly recommended.
We have been to the Belfry Inn and Bistro 3-4 times. This time it was for Thanksgiving Dinner. As usual the service, ambience and food were excellent. While were there we also made reservations for New Years Eve!!
Great place, Great people, Great food!!!
This was Thanksgiving and the Turkey Dinners were disappointing. We have had lunches and dinners many times at the Belfry and the food has always been excellent. We were disappointed that the Turkey Dinners were so mundane.
Enjoyed our evening-good food-good Service- needs more variety and choices for younger folks-16 year old granddaughter had a hard time finding something she wanted to eat-was nice that the staff treated her to a birthday dessert with a candle!!
This was my first visit. My wife has been asking me to try this restaurant. I loved it from the ambiance, the services, the menu, and of course, the wonderful food. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other selections
We stay here twice a year on our birthdays -- always attentive service, good breakfast and fancy dinners. And Sandwich is a nice little town for a few good shops, walks, especially out a boardwalk to the ocean.
