Burgers are decent but overpriced. Fries are tasteless and way overpriced. I won't go back.
The women had the steak salad which had ample greens and was a bit stingy on the meat. The men had steak frites with regular fries and thought the fries were very good and the meat also a bit stingy. Everything was good, but not great. The drinks were good and the booth seating was generous and the room was not terribly noisy which was great, as we actually were able to talk with our friends. The dessert, bread pudding, was generous, very tasty and we shared one! An extra 2 ounces of meat would have brought us up a star.
Meat lovers paradise in a cool setting with a great list of wines. Perfect for those doing Keto!
One overworked server. Burger overcooked, fries soggy and Luke warm, everything grossly overpriced. Big disappointment.
We were sorely disappointed in the quality of the meat ...much less the value. Plate presentation was poor and uninspiring (slab of beef alone on a 12" white plate...really?)
service was not well informed and lacking in personality. Liked the location and decor and great craft cocktails...at $100/person should be MUCH better. Too bad.
Texture and taste of beef in burgers was outstanding. Fries could have been cooked longer and firmer. Dark chocolate dessert was wonderful. Creme brûlée needed some work but spoke to the manager about it and they immediately took it off the bill. The service was impeccable. Been wanting to go here for over a year. Can’t wait to come back and try more stuff and buy some meat from butcher to cook at my Air BnB next trip!
Waited almost an hour for our food to come. The restaurant was only half full.
Good quality meat, but incompetent chef- didn’t know how to do a medium rare steak. Steaks were sent to our table cut in the middle!! What steak restaurant does that??
I would recommend as a Hamburger Joint only. It had been a classy steakhouse. They have remodeled the restaurant. The red vinyl booths are gone, as is the dim romantic lighting. I had a 7 pm table and dressed in a sport coat. My girlfriend looked sharp in a black dress. I was surprised to see 3 guys at the bar in shorts and flip flops, and then groups of casually dressed people eating burgers and fries. We had our heart set on a Steak and ordered a New York, at $56. It was flavorless. The waiter did not return often enough so we just ate the steak. We should have worn jeans and ordered two $18 burgers. I brought a bottle of red and paid the corkage fee of $20, even after the waiter mentioned it might be waived. With the Uber ride, corkage, overpriced flavorless steak, I was in over $200.00. Neither the waiter nor the Manager asked "how was your dinner". The more I write, the more disappointed I get. May be this note will get their attention. Your restaurant could be great. Just work on one thing- Customer Service. : - )

Food is high quality and every single person who works there is lovely. They even brought my husband a dessert for his birthday - unsolicited by me!!! It's rare to find that level of kindness is restaurants anymore. Our waiter gave us helpful cooking suggestions for barbequing a lamb roast! Broccolini, lamb burger and chocolate budino were all fantastic. Quite expensive for a hamburger (sides are extra) but the servers, hosts and managers made it such a nice experience - it's totally worth it.
My husband and I took a good friend to Belcampo for his birthday. I've shopped in the butcher shop up front before, since I'm a strong believer in raising animals on pasture for a host of reasons. So Belcampo it was. The space is simultaneously low-key elegant and industrial chic, with comfy banquettes, subdued lighting, and soaring ceiling. The bar, backlit and stretching up to said high ceiling, is a focal point of the room, and dispensed an expensive (but truly delicious) Negroni in a substantial rocks glass. Food came prepared to order and was delicious. The meal wasn't cheap (one cocktail, tea & coffee, a burger, a steak, an entree salad, a side of vegetables, a side of grilled bread, and one dessert came to $150 before tip), but the value is certainly there (both for the quality of how the meat is raised, and for how everything was prepared). We will happily return!
Solid steak and sides.
Bring back the pickled vegetables! And maybe think about adding a steak salad?
Caesar salad with lamb was delicious as was the burger. Friendly servers too
Very attentive staff. Vanessa at the bar was a pro and very nice. Not only would I recommend it I will be taking trips up to Santa Monica just for a meal
We went for dinela . The black cod was delicious as was the pork chops. Cocktails were creative and well presented. Nice size portions.
I like the place. Nice vibe. Good service. Ask for Andre.
Quality was excellent. Service was excellent. Portions seemed a bit small for price.
Awesome birthday dinner for a keto foodie couple!
It took 1.5 hours for our food to come out.
This was our first visit to Belcampo in Santa Monica, and we were quite pleased. The restaurant had a nice vibe. The interior was calm, and not noisy, despite the fact that the restaurant was full and had a great bar scene going on. Our waiter was very helpful, as were other restaurant staff. The menu accommodated carnivores and vegetarians. The meat was extremely high quality, as it should be because they raise their own sheep and cattle and the in front of the restaurant is their butcher shop. My husband had the lamb meatball appetizer, which I tasted. It was delicious. I had the leafy greens in vinaigrette, which was light and not drowned in dressing. It was perfect. He had steak frites and I had steak Carotte. The steaks were cooked to perfection and just melted in our mouths. There was a wonderful red wine Demi-glace and Bernaise butter on top. It was scrumptious! My husband said that his fries were great. My steak was set atop roasted carrots that were exceptionally good. I also had a glass of Pinot Noir that went well with my meal.
The menu had small plates, and there were a variety of burgers that looked good from a distance. There were chicken, fish and pork options as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Server was really nice, knowledgeable and attentive.
All buns (ordered 3 burgers and the chicken sandwich) were super dry and crumbled (not in a good way). Chicken sandwich was dry and burnt (Ate half, regretted it). Medium rare burger came out well done (this was replaced but at the cost of waiting. Expectation was not met as this is a butcher shop so... temperature should be on point?)
Chicken wings and fries were good though.
Lighting is nice and noise level is low.
Wouldn’t be back to dine in, price / value now not really worth it despite everyone being pleasant
This is far and away the best choice for a business lunch (or any other lunch when you expect to be able to talk to and hear your guests) on the westside. And the menu is diverse enough to suit all tastes.
La comida y el servicio excelente. El precio un poco caro.
The food is awesome!
Bartender and kitchen didn’t follow the menu when it came to my friend’s order, but my meal was perfect and the waitress was incredibly gracious and sweet.
They need to improve the atmosphere...it is not warm and inviting. Also, there appears to be a disconnect between the gourmet level of food and the level of service (and the waiter attire was surprisingly casual)
Fantastic meats. The steak tartare, carpaccio, and New York steak were delicious.
It was really outstanding exprience. I love that barn interior, local meat and excellent taste and service. I would definitely recommend.
Great waiter
We love it, just wish for one or two more non meat items. I know I know it’s a butcher shop. But not all friends are meatetarians like us!
Lovely restaurant and great customer service and overall experience.
The pork chop was horrible. Really chewy. Not sure it it was undercooked. It seemed like it had been grilled on both sides but wasn’t really cooked through. Also it was served with so much gravy it swamped the greens and potatoes.
Only one bar tender so drinks were coming to tables after entree arrived.
New chef and management is needed.
Have been to Belcampo a few times and it never disappoints. Started at the bar with a few co-workers. Bartender was friendly so we elected to stay put rather than take a table. Two of us got burgers, which are phenomenal. The other two split a tomahawk rib eye. Enjoyed decent Old Fashioned and the happy hour burger/shot/beer special.
One of our favorite restaurants. The staff and the food are great!
good but pricey
We had no idea what to expect. It is a butcher out front. Walked back to a big, warm, inviting space with a fabulous Bar. The steak salad was ok, not as good as I would have hoped being a butcher but I will try again. We had a fun night there celebrating a birthday.
Great service, incredible food. The freshest meats available!
We had the best meal here! Met my dear friend here and had a fabulous time catching up and eating. LOVE the sweet chili wings and we had the cowboy rib eye for 2. The meat here is wonderful and I do not like meat that much however when I come to Belcampo I have to have it. GREAT PLACE!!!

This was our 1st time here the wait staff was great and they have a butchshop in the front when you come in and then a nice farm to table restaurant in the back. The food was great and very creative. I had the 100 day dry aged burger with duck fat fries was amazing. We had an interesting appetizer a deviled egg with sliced jalapeño and Fried chicken skin was awesome. The dessert was delish. We will return again to sample more.
Sad to say, this place is not what it once was. Some chef changes have led to an uninspired menu, minus the great highlights that once made this place a neighborhood essential. The bartenders are still great but the wine list is a disaster; a once wide-ranging and eclectic mix reduced to a bunch of banal California reds. (Coppola? Really?) It's a shame, this spot used to be indispensable. Hope it can bounce back but for now I'm moving on.
Food and service were exceptional. Loved my steak frites . The fries are a must order. I would go there just for them. That’s how good they are. If you enjoy dessert have the bread pudding. You won’t be disappointed. It is also a restaurant you can go with friends and actually have conversation as noise level is low.
