Beef 'N Bottle Ratings and Reviews
Our steaks were incredible, and service fantastic! Oyster appetizer was delicious, as was dessert.
A few side notes that didn't bother us at all, but might be good to know:
The sides were good and salad fresh, but nothing can compare to the steaks so the sides seem less great. Our server had prompt attention, and brought out complimentary dessert for a birthday. Since drinks, and each course were brought out promptly (but only after the previous course finished) we dined in just under 2 hours (taking our time). However, we have heard that after two hours they will ask you to order your next round of drinks from the Bar. knowing this in advance, it wasn't an issue and we never felt rushed.
A very long time since we had been at this iconic Charlotte spot, and I don't know why. The atmosphere is so "very american" and timeless. Service was excellent and also provided some of the restaurant's history. Traffic made us late, and the staff worked the seating schedule so we could have a normal, leisurely time over dinner. Excellent steak on top of everything else made our birthday celebration special.
Service was Amazing! Terri was there to ensure we never wanted for anything. She answered every question with passion, personality and a big smile. Food was incredible. I can see why this place is a hidden gem. Don't be put off by the exterior as the interior has a cool vibe to it. We were a little disappointed at how loud it was as we were celebrating a special occasion and put in a room with 3 large parties. Might be nice if they kept couples in a quieter area (if there is one).
Visited Beef and Bottle many times. This was our 46th wedding anniversary and the waiter made it special for us. This particular waiter was excellent. He told me that his favorite was the Delmonico steak with the encrusted horseradish sauce. I ordered it and maybe this was the best steak ever! Our favorite place.
I asked for recommendations for a nice restaurant to go to for our anniversary on ballantyne connection and the MAJORITY of people recommended beef and bottle. We couldn't get a table on our actual anniversary and went to Morton's Steak House uptown. Since there were so many great reviews and recommendations our expectations were high but we were disappointed. The seating is crammed together and even at 5pm it is packed and loud. My filet mignot was delicious but my lobster was very rubbery and the butter sauce was congealed. .... We had a much better meal and loved the ambiance of Morton's. I'm glad we tried Beef n Bottle but we will probably not be back.
Absolutely wonderful as always. Steak was perfect. Sides were great and oysters were fresh. Good wine and Dean (our server...yes I know most by name that’s how much I eat there) was on point as usual. Simply my “go to” and favorite restaurant in Charlotte. If you have a bad experience here, it was an extreme anomaly (which I’m certain if you address would be taken care of) or your expectations of a steakhouse are not in alignment with the standard of care of a great steakhouse. Been eating there for three years and I’ve never had a bad experience. Cheers!
We were in search of a great steak house and found B&B to be overrated. Meals were expensive ($35) and served crackers in wrappers instead of fresh bread. Salad was nothing special. Steaks were good meat but undercooked (we are well experienced in how to order a steak). The servers were good and pleasant. Maybe we hit them on an off night. May try again but generally disappointed in relation to all the hype we had heard about them.
First time at Beef and Bottle and have lived here 20 years. We may have set expectations too high...service was great- waitress was fun and genuine. Food was just ok- we enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and onion soup. Scallops were good but steaks and sides were nothing to rave about. For the money we spent, we probably won't revisit.
My wife and I went to Beef and Bottle for the first time and loved everything about the restaurant. The food was spectacular and the service was excellent. Our waiter was personal and attentive without going over board. We loved the dark, old school atmosphere. While the restaurant is expensive, we definitely felt that we got our money's worth. We brought home left overs and enjoyed that as well. Highly recommended!
My wife and I love this restaurant. It is hard to find a great place to eat that provides the old "supper club" feel. We prefer non-chain restaurants and find they provide unique character and
better quality food. Our steaks were the best we have eaten in a long time. Our waiter was outstanding which made our meal even better. We do not live in the area however, we have eaten at Beef and Bottle the last 2 times we visited Charlotte.
My wife and I both appreciate a good steak house with great atmosphere where you don't have to yell at each other to be heard. Fantastic food, great service, and just the right touches to make a memorable dining experience. Steak done to perfection just as we ordered. A cold salad brought to your table with just the lettuce and a plate with tongs of your favorite toppings for the salad. All home made dressings. My wife had a great glass of wine and I had a draft beer that was really good. This looks like an old time steakhouse with candles, cloth table cloth and napkins. Go for a really special occasion. You will not be disappointed.
We went because of a friends recommendation for birthday celebration. I ordered the filet mignon medium rare, it was burnt on the outside really pink on the inside and tough. I was expecting (based on all the reviews online and verbally) a tender flavorful filet and the high price. The apple pie with cinnamon ice cream was the best I have every had anywhere. I highly recommend it. The booth we sat was noisy, couldn't even hear my husband talk. We will give this place one more try, it anything, just for the pie.
Everything about this place is great. From the service to the food. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. The salads, sides, wine, dessert and coffee were delicious too. No complaints whatsoever. If you aren't into the chain steakhouses, please do yourself a favor and go here. Now.
After dining here several times, we were a bit disappointed. The steak was totally burned on the outside eventhough ordered medium. The salad condiments have been cut in half compared to previous visits. Our bill for 2 including tip was $167. I don’t think we’ll be back as there are better restaurants in the area offering good food for a better value.
Been many times but first to sit in the back room. Could use a little updating. A door to a storage room area was open so not the best scenery for an expensive meal but will continue to go. Wonderful food and service. A "must go" place in Charlotte.
Atmosphere was awesome, cheese and crackers, nice touch. Then it went downhill from there! Escargot were definitely from a can,put in a mushroom cap and baked with butter....flavorless sauce. I had a filet and lobster tail, meat was cooked correctly, but a little chewy for an expensive meal. No bernaise sauce available, was told sometimes we have it,sometimes we don't. At a high priced steakhouse? Not acceptable. Companions ribeye was also not the tenderest piece and a bit fatty. Lobster tails were cooked perfectly, both meals were very bland, needed more flavor. Butter served with the lobster was in a small China dish and got cold and congealed very quickly, try to enjoy a piece of lobster in that! Onion rings so crunchy we couldn't eat them.
We were disappointed to say the least. Probably won't be back.
