We were warmly greeted for our special occasion. On the surface, the dinner was to celebrate my fiancee's birthday. Much to her surprise, we also were also about to celebrate our engagement!!!
The room was a small dining room with lighted fireplace. Very romantic. The dinners, selected from the "Restaurant Week" choices, were delicious, with excellent service and attention to detail by Ryan. We were also allowed to linger during the evening, given all that celebration!
Great Dinner. The dry aged sirloin was about the best I ever had. Great place for an occasion.
Fantastic place, food and service. My wife and I got married there a year ago and absolutely love the place. Would recommend it to anyone!
As usual, our meal at Bedford Village Inn met all of our expectations - great food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere.
I've been going to BVI for over 15 years and I've never been disappointed. It's expensive but worth it for a special occasion. One thing I would like to see is at least 2 vegetarian options as this would open things up a bit for more flexibility in who I invite to come with me.
The Bedford Village Inn maintains an exceptional level of quality, service and ambiance. We had an incredible evening and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We hope to return many times in the future.
Sat in the main dinning room for dinner. First time and we were not disappointed, It was comfortable and cozy. The wait staff was very good and our waitress always had a smile on her, as well as, attended all our needs. To me the wait staff is just as important as the food, which was very good too. I am a big dessert person and we were celebrating a Birthday, but was a little disappointed with the dessert selection; your website showed more than was available to us that night. Thank you, we did enjoy ourselves and would go back again.

We have been here several times for weddings , business dinners and twice for anniversary. Every time we have found the service great and the staff friendly. Prices were reasonable for the food and overall very good. Food selection has always been interesting , and might be tweaked a little. We look forward to our next event or special occasion.
The service was excellent. Attentive but not intrusive. The monkfish, scallops, and ribeye were all first-rate. I also suggest the Indian Pudding, a regional specialty.
Great place to have a nice quiet night out. The food was great. I had the scallops and shrimp and my sister had the monk fish. We enjoyed it and dessert was good.
My wife and I ate here for the first time. We were really impressed and happy we did. We were seated in the overlook room. It was the most charming and elegant room. It was also very quiet which made for nice conversation. We loved the woodwork and the paintings. The staff were attentive, well dressed and carried themselves in the most professional way. They really cemented the feel of eating at a fine establishment. If we left the table for only a moment to look around or visit the restroom, our napkins were refolded when we returned. A nice touch.
We started by sharing the Crispy Crab Cakes app. It was brought on two separate plates with one cake on each with all the trimmings on each plate rather than one shared plate. Another nice touch.
I had the Long Island Duck Breast. It was cooked to perfection and very tasty. I asked the server for a Cabernet Sauvignon recommendation and she recommended the Imagery (Calif). It was a very good wine and went well with the Duck.
For desert, I had the Chocolate Pumpkin Torte. It was a chocoholic's dream and a generous desert portion to boot. My wife had the White Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding with the same experience.
The whole evening was just perfect. We look forward to coming back again.
Service was great. Our server took the time to make sure every element of our dinner was as perfect as possible. They made our dessert request; which made our night extra special.
We felt terrible for the server on the next table over. This crazy person was impossible to please. The management clearly did everything in their power to please but this person was impossible.
Best date I've ever been on. Absolutely magnificent dining experience. My meal was excellent, and the bartender made the most delicious Moscow mule I've ever had. Five star experience from start to finish. The Bedford Village Inn exceeded my expectations and is a place I will highly recommend.
Michele our waitress and the serving staff were excellent and very attentive to our needs and requests through the birthday evening. The food was also a delight and desserts were abundant. Will definitely make Bedford Inn a regular stop for great food and socializing.
Ice Bar event outside was pretty cool too, although we didn't have tickets for that.
My wife and I had the best time here. Our server was exceptional and the food was delicious. The host went out of his way to acknowledge it was our anniversary and the table was decorated and there was a welcome card for us.
The Bedford Village Inn Remains the best restaurant in the area and if anything the food has gotten better recently. The service is always professional and what you would expect but it is the food and drinks that always leave me wanting to come back. Where else can you get the best steak money can buy cooked perfectly with a glass of Caymus?!
Wonderful last minute dinner in the Dining Room with an old friend! Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and wine list and was attentive throughout our meal without being invasive or pushy. The food was excellent, very reasonable prices and the dessert delightful (I usually skip dessert, but never at the BVI!!)
I really love the ambiance at BVI and, of course, the food. I just took my father for his birthday--it was his first time at BVI. We got a fantastic cheese sampler, but our meals were just good, not great; the meals were not what I usually expect and certainly not what I'd expect for the price. Our server was very attentive and very pleasant and was a highlight of the meal. The one thing I wanted to point out above all is that the young staff at the host/hostess stand really needs to watch their language and professionalism while on the job. It was disappointing to have my father, during his first BVI experience, be subjected to loud discussion that included profanities during his dessert. I watched as the server tried to tell the lobby staff twice to be quiet, but to no avail. We would come back, but would probably be asked to be seated in a different dining room and would probably speak up if the food wasn't to our liking, as the table next to us did. It is our fault for not speaking up about some of the food issues we experienced (i.e., dry salad lacking dressing).
The atmosphere at BVI is amazing- that’s the best part really! Service was well paced and our server was friendly and attentive!
We always find the food and drinks to be overpriced for what you get so we knew that going in. The martinis are tiny, the wine pours are small and pricey, and the food is good but not worth the charge. For instance, my husband had the fois gras for an app- it was $18 and was hilariously small. The Caesar salad was excellent. We would not recommend the chicken dish- the chicken was pretty dry and unadorned. The veggie risotto was good.
You are definitely paying for the place and not the food.
We had a wonderful 95th birthday celebration for my dad in the private back dining room at the BVI! This is our "go to" restaurant for special occasions but we also head to the BVI Tavern for a quick and delicious week-night dinner and we love eating on the patio in the summer.
This is not a restaurant you would do often due to the cost. It is a 'special' occasion restaurant. The wait staff are attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Food is creative and excellent.
I was very disappointed. The service was wonderful. We were seated in a corner with our backs to a stone wall and it was uncomfortably cold. I had the shrimp and scallop dish and was unsatisfied. The shrimp were tough and tasteless like they had been reheated from New year’s Eve. The broccolini was also tough and cold. My husband like this chicken dish but stated it tasted like it was seasoned with Lawrys season salt. I expected more from this 4 star restaurant. We will stay closer to home for special occasions (my birthday) where we will be better satisfied. The decor was lovely.
Omar has been our favorite on the many occasions we have been to the Inn: birthdays & anniversaries. Service is excellent. Never had a bad meal there. Wintertime is so pretty there.

The Bedford Village Inn always meets our expectations. The food is first-rate, the ambience is lovely, and the service is excellent.
80th Birthday celebration. Reserved table for 7. When we arrived they had confetti and a birthday card from the staff on the table. Appetizers included oysters on the half shell, mushroom bisque, clam chowder and 3 different salads. All were great especially the bisque and chowder. Only critique was that the mesclun salad was served without dressing which was quickly resolved. Entrees included Scottish Salmon, Porter House steak, Scallop/Shrimp/Mussels and Roasted Chicken. All were excellent. Wait staff was extremely attentive. Ambiance was perfect especially for a cold holiday weekend night. We drove 2 hours from the South Shore of Massachusetts to take my mother out for her big birthday and we will certainly return to the Bedford Village Inn again.
Wonderful atmosphere decorated for the holidays. Very special place...family dinner. We live in Bedford and are proud to know and dine here with our children who are adults now.
Took some friends here for dinner and couldn't have been more pleased! The food was excellent and the service was precisely what I would expect from a fine upscale restaurant. You cannot go wrong planning a meal here.

Waitress was great and the food was good. However, the fire alarm went off while we were waiting for our dinner to arrive. Many of the staff just left and we weren't sure what to do. The staff should have advised us whether or not we were to leave. We were finally escorted out to the front door after the manager arrived. The stairs had not been cleaned and it was very icy. The waitress did inform us we would be provided with a free dessert, which was fine. Our bill came to $125.00 and we attempted to pay part of the bill with a $100.00 AMEX gift card. The manager and the waitress returned and advised us the charge could not go through because their system was not set up. I happen to know American Express can be called and the gift card would be cleared. This was not offered. Although the food and service were fine, I doubt we will be returning any time soon. This was a special dinner for our 40th anniversary and the gift card was a gift to use towards the meal. Very disappointed.
It's always a treat going to the Bedford Village Inn. Sometimes we go to the Tavern for the evening. The Wine Bar upstairs is unique to the area, and great for wine lovers because their wine list is quite extensive. On special occasions, or Sunday Brunch, the restaurant is tough to beat.
I really love this restaurant. Our waiter was attentive but not overbearing. I had the mushroom toast and a steak and I cannot say enough about how good the food was. One of my guests changed their mind after ordering and the manager came over to confirm this and checked in to make sure we were all having a good time. Nothing we asked for was too much and this is one restaurant that went above our expectations.

I have been to BVI more than a dozen times and every time, except this one, the experience was stellar. We had cocktails in the Tavern and one person in my party asked about the cheese platter appetizer she'd had in the Tavern previously. The waiter was "sure" they did not have it. He returned with the Tavern menu which was not initially provided showing the exact appetizer. We moved to the dining room from there and were promptly greeted and offered beverages by our server. The amuses vouches we had were excellent, as well as the wines we selected. All of us ordered seafood entrees; two scallop dishes, swordfish, salmon. The preparations looked amazing. However, the size of the servings was rather small given the price. The ingredients are not extraordinary (except the Brussel Sprouts had chestnuts). The scallops were over seasoned with salt and over cooked to well done. The swordfish portion was very small and slightly overdone. If it had been busy when we arrived for our reservation (5:30 pm), I might have given the benefit of the doubt that the chef was too busy. However, we were one of two parties seated in the dining room, so there should have been adequate time to prepare our meals and not overcook/season them. Unfortunately, this was the worst experience I have had at BVI. I will plan on returning for a final "test", but am not optimistic. Hopefully this was an isolated incident.
I came to the Bedford Village Inn for a celebration dinner. They exceeded my expectations. There was a congratulations card from the staff and some ribbons on the table prior to our arrival. I asked to have a bottle of champagne delivered when I made the reservation and as soon as we were sat the bottle was brought to us which was perfect. We ordered soups and appetizers and were given a complimentary sample dish thanks to the chef. My boyfriend ordered the scallop and shrimp dish which was surprisingly a huge portion and I ordered the duck and it was cooked perfectly. The food was absolutely delicious! Our server, Fouad, was outstanding. We loved him! Would definitely recommend him! For dessert we had the chocolate bag and they even added a chocolate plaque that said "congratulations" on it. Great service, great atmosphere, great food!
