Booked a table for around 8pm via Open Table. Arrived at the bar, waited for 5 mins, then told “we’re closed, no food left”. Stay well clear.
Food was really delicious, above expectations, and coming from picky eaters.
Noise level was a little high mostly from the music. Interior felt a little dark, but was okay.
Strange place. The menu offerings were very limited. The food was pretty good but the meal as a whole was lacking. We ordered a burrata starter and while it was tasty, it was just a lump of cheese (and some fish and nuts, seasoned well) on a plate. When we asked if there was anything to put it in we were told no. No bread, crackers or any other option. The burger was fine but had aioli on it, which it did not say on the menu. I dislike aioli and sent it back. The burger reappeared moments later — a new top and bottom bun, minus the aioli but the same burger just scraped clean of the aioli - and now luke warm. The chicken parm was chicken on the bone- not great and nearly impossible to eat. And the whole branzino was good. They brought the whole slimy fish out to show us - pre cooking it. It was also the last one available (we had a 5:45pm pre theater dinner - and the restaurant wa basically empty - so it must have been left over from the day before?).
Finally, the meals came with nothing else on the plate. The chicken was 2 pieces of chicken. The fish, just the fish. No sides on the plate and no sides to order. Overall, a strange and rather unsatisfying experience.
My friend and I both enjoyed our brunch and the food was good. However, I thought it was a bit pricey for the portion size. I had the avocado toast and it was $15 for one slice of bread. Wow! When I've ordered avocado toast elsewhere, you get two slices of toast. Not worth the price.
I love this restaurant. Food and setting is great. My only complaint is that it is extremely loud, even during lunch. Would not recommend for a business meal as a result.
Food is good but waiter disappears after a while and the meal loses traction.
Just as follow up, the restaurant called to talk about the issue and they were very nice about it-props to them. This was a coachable issue, and I appreciate it.
Quiet spot for business lunch , price fixe , limited choice but good
Great brunch! Great service, great food with a variety of options, and can accommodate larger sized parties:
The food was excellent. The wine selection is well thought out to compliment the menu. The Cabernet Sauvignon was tasty pairing with the delicious Bedford and Co. Burger.
I highly recommend Bedford and Co .
GREAT food but felt like we were eating in someone’s basement. Very low-lit. Went for brunch and it felt like midnight.
A hidden gem. The food is incredibly good, and both times I went, it was not crowded and I could actually have a conversation. Almost want to keep this place a secret. Really great food though!
Both of us were taken by how excellent this restaurant is. The service was very friendly and just as attentive. The menu is not long, but it is smart. We shared a delicious pasta that balanced well a thick pasta with a light sauce. I followed with a corn with rock shrimp small plate appetizer, followed by a perfectly cooked dick breast. My companion had the wood charred beets followed by the wood grilled bone-in chicken cut in quarters. He raved, and most highly recommend my dishes. Gelato was smooth. I will no doubt return to this near GCT fit-for-foodies eatery.
Food was a delightful combination of spices ,texture, artfully presented.
A treat for the eyes and an enjoyable experience for the palate.
The wine was superb, but the food was only medicore. Didn't love it. Can't quite figure out what they are trying to do with the menu. A little busy.
Yes It's a great ambiance for the midtown area. The food was great and it made for a great lunch meeting.
It was ok and service was great but not a great vibe and food was good but salty
Food presentation was great. Everything was very tasty. Just a tad bit overpriced for what you get. But that’s NYC in general
The food was fine but the menu is extremely limited. Definitely make sure there’s something you want before you go. And note that all wine is $16/glass, which surprised me since there were some fairly modest names on the list.
Expensive for tiny portions at lunchtime. The food was very good, but overpriced at $29 for a salad which was the size of a dessert plate. Love the atmosphere but they need to bring back the ala carte menu.
Menu was very small (reduced for the weekend)and we considered leaving but the manager was excellent and everything turned out very well
It always creates a good feeling when met warmly with pleasant smiles by the restaurant receptionist. It is exactly what happened at Bedford & Co. My son and I surprised my sister with a birthday lunch treat and she was pleasantly amazed to discover Bedford & Co. She said she often passes by the place without ever considering it for a meal. But after our wonderful experience with the restaurant thanks to ...I hope I remember their names right... Yuris, the receptionist, and Angelo, the Spanish speaking server, we all agreed it is a comeback place. We will try to be there on a less busy time because the only downside is that we could not carry on more meaningful conversation because of the very loud noise created by the diners. Otherwise, food, service and ambiance were very good!
BTW, our big thanks to the management for serving us complimentary champagne to go with her birthday dessert and help us celebrate my sister's birthday. THANK YOU!
The food is terrific and their lunch is a wonderful diversion from the typical midtown east fare. It's a terrific value and the menu has some nice options for all diners. The service was spotty though and needs some improvement. They really dropped the ball on that part of the scorecard. Maybe it was the 4th of July holiday week and they were running with a limited staff but still no excuse for mediocre service. Wonderful ambiance and setting. I would try again and hopefully they have addressed their service issues.
Outstanding and great value in NYC. Food was excellent. Great charmed beets. And the New York strip steak was cooked perfectly. Charred on outside and rare on inside. Hot, crisp fries were to die from. Couldn’t do enough to accommodate my wife’s allergies. With cocktails, bottle of water, appetizers, steak main courses and a desert (the best old-time vanilla bean ice cream I’ve had in a very long time) check was slightly over $100 per couple. That’s extraordinary in NYC. Excellent service and just loud enough to have buzz.
Beat burger in NYC but you could spend this kids’ college funds if you go too often!
Great dinner and service. I ordered the pork chop and my colleague ordered the sirloin steak. Both dishes were cooked to perfection!! The olive oil cake was the perfect ending to the meal - not to sweet. I would definitely return when in New York.
Great place for business lunch - good farm to table food and fresh.
Yummy small plates and kind servers
Food was amazing! Coffee was cold, but the love that the bottomless mimosas we poured ourselves.
Service and food were great. Perfect spot for a rainyday NY lunch meeting.
Great dinner at Bedford and Co. We did the weekend wood fired prix fixe dinner which was excellent. Margarita was our server and did a great job. The chefs were very friendly and stopped by to say hello.
A date , yes.
Went for lunch, ordered the $30 price fixe. All the courses were amazing especially the roasted beets, pea greens and mint salad and the lamb shawarma. The dessert was a cookie which, while it tasted good was a little skimpy. It was not hard getting a same day reservation which was convenient. They sat a large party next to us, but the noise level was fine. Nice to know their lunch is as good as their dinner.
It was my first time for brunch at bedford in co and the food and service were very good. The brunch was reasonably priced. We didn't get the mimosa bar because no one was drinking but it definitely looked like a great value!
This is one of my favorite breakfast meeting places in NYC. Actually more than just meetings. Great ambiance. Cool art. Funky music. Good food. Overall good vibe. The only thing I will say is that the service is never great. Nice servers but on multiple occasions I, our friend, have had to ask for more water, coffee refill, condiments et al multiple times before it actually happens.
They gave us a table in the back in a private area. Ambiance was ok. Nothing to really talk about. The main dining area is better, but I don't think they can accomodate six people in the main dining room. Food was good. Had the steak and eggs. They had to redo the eggs. Other like what they ordered. Basically good brunch food. The bottomless presecoo and juice was nice. Overall would recommend for brunch.
This is a hidden gem! Quiet, cozy and sophisticated atmosphere. The service was great, food served quickly and delicious! Cocktails weren’t spectacular... my boyfriend ordered a Bloody Mary for $16. We would have expected celery, olives or some other garnish for almost $20! But still an awesome spot!!!
Sad to say this is one of my favourite spots that is going out of favour for me. Perhaps I've simply aged out (this happens). I would recommend to the under 40 crowd.
better for dinner (i am guessing! given the dark and nightclub looking space) than breakfast! good food and poor service - perhaps, again, because it was breakfast and that does not seem to be a major draw for them as the seating was almost all empty when I went
I met a friend at Bedford & Co. for dinner on a weekday. This restaurant really could be anywhere--the food is fine, the service was not great, and there was nothing memorable about the meal except that the lights over our table were extremely bright and unfortunately the dimmer wasn't working. The team that cleared the tables was very nice though!
