We went for our anniversary and we’re placed in a booth in the back corner. The food was just ok., nothing special. My husband’s steak came back rare which we asked for medium well. It took 45 minutes for someone to check on us and at that point, he didn’t get it fixed. He ended up only have a salad and not a meal. The service was horrible. I understand that it is the current situation that workers are hard to come by, but that was beyond acceptable.
Sat at a table overlooking the river. 3 of us ordered the special - a delicious shrimp and sausage dish served over pasta. We shared the cherries nuts and berries salad and topped off our meal with maple creme brûle. Our compliments to chef Drew!
I would have given 5 stars, but we could not see the water-the lights were out.
The food & service were great.
No desert offered or any server saying "Happy Birthday" that was mentioned in the reservation prior to arrival of the celebration reason. Seated near bar, dark waterfall was not lighted, but could hear water flowing. Food- risotto was watery and bland, and seafood pasta lacked seasoning and sauce.
We had made our reservation early and requested a table with a view. We were so lucky and got the large table on the lower right. We had a great view of the river and the rapids. Food was delicious and selection was ample. Something for everyone. We all had a great time. I highly recommend Beau’s on the River.
Terrible waitress Rude paid no attention to what we were asking We were the only table in a nice environment and she acted like we were bothering her If it wasn’t for her it would have been otherwise great She actually ruined the lunch for me and my friends. She should find another line of work.
The buffet really didn't have anything that I couldn't have made at home. There was food on the floor by the table we were seated at. The waitress explained the change over from breakfast to brunch, but we sat a good 25 minutes without any food. After coming back from the buffet line there was a basket of muffins at our table. Those could have been brought out much earlier.
I was also very disappointed in the decorations for the holiday season. Very bland..
I have lived in Chicago for 31-years which is known for its fine dining restaurants. The food at Baue's On The River was terrific and the prices were very reasonable. I ordered the stuffed salmon and found it one of the best salmon meals I have ever eaten. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the service was superb. All in all, if you want to take a date or gathering for a special occasion, Baue's On The River would be an excellent choice.
The food was great but the service was terrible. First of all i made a reservation for noon, when they opened, and the heat wasn’t even turned on. Second, we were the only table in the restaurant, and the waiter was so slow. The only thing I asked for outside of the order was a water and he forgot it. Loved the view and food, but truly disappointed with the room temp and service.
Brunch is always excellent!
Overall our experience was wonderful! Highly recommend the lobster bisque. Only complaint is there is a business casual dress code if your going to have one you should adhere to it. We had a table next to us in jogging pants and baseball hats, everyone else in dress clothes, suits etc it just killed the ambiance of a nicer dinner out.
Fabulous food and staff, weekday, evening dining extremely dark atmosphere, due to little lighting. Would definitely dine again because the food and staff make it superb.
It has been a while since I visited this establishment! It did not disappoint! My mom loved the Lobster Bisque so much she ordered another bowl to take home for dinner! The bartender was so nice and knowledgeable about the menu. The nuts and berry salad with salmon was a hit for me and I took one home as well. We will be back!
Restaurant is not open except for Friday & Saturday. Otherwise you must eat in the lounge. Not enough staff. Food was good though. I expected more. Disappointed.
It is a fantastic view and our waitress was great!
Plus live music by Studio Acoustic in the bar made for a perfect evening
Beau's was a huge disappointment. I was encouraged by the positive reviews, but they grossly overrate my average-at-best experience. The chicken was dry. The lamb was overcooked. My side salad was topped with a gelatinous version of a balsamic vinaigrette. I hosted a friend for her retirement dinner, and was quite embarrassed. Beau's is nothing more than typical hotel food - - not worth it in any respect.
Excellent venue, but go before dark so you can enjoy the river views. Outstanding service, and food was amazing.
Was VERY cold !!
Need bread available for lunch.
Food was great 👍
Very beautiful my waitress was knowledgeable and very nice the Ford was unbelievable will definitely return !
The setting on the river is nice. The food in steamers was generally barely warm. Waffles were bricks. There was no syrup. Fish was so overcooked that it could have been a baseball. The bacon was good.
Always great food, good service in a beautiful setting.
My first time dining here but definitely won’t be my last. It was so luxurious and beautiful and everyone was so nice and kind. I went there to celebrate my new job and it definitely felt like a celebration, made the moment special.
The food and service was top notch. We were seated with a view of the water which was so relaxing. Can’t wait to go back!
Beau's did not know a thing about my Open Table reservation! They did not know the time, the request for a window seat, nor the anniversay event. Also, they screwed up my lamb order and gave me well done when I had asked for medium rare. It took over twenty minutes for them to change out the order, and, as a result, my wife had finished her meal before my revised meal came to the table. Happy $%#@ing anniversary to us!
We heard a lot of wonderful things about Beau’s, so we were excited and anxious to experience their brunch. THE ABSOLUTE WORST BRUNCH EVER!!!!!!! Our server was wonderful, the food was so visually unappealing that we didn’t even eat. Powdered eggs, no non pork breakfast protein, bagels no cream cheese and the salad bar wasn’t a salad bar it was a cold salad bar. The staff in that area were all very unprofessional, they didn’t greet us or even acknowledge us. They chatted amongst themselves about their weekends. With all of that being said we left!!! We didn’t eat anything!!!! I didn’t even get to try the pineapple mimosa, it sounded yummy. If they could make the cuisine reflect the view, they would have an amazing experience. We won’t be back until things improve.
Food just okay for the brunch price. Eggs were a solid, dry brick. Views are beautiful if you get a seat near the windows. Service was outstanding. With good food, this would be top notch.
Food was fresh and fantastic. Wine list is exceptional. Our waiter, Matt, was welcoming and offered great recommendations for what to order. A perfect night out with a lovely view.
Excellent food with a breathtaking view. Highly recommend this hidden gem!
Very disappointing first impression. I contacted restaurant several times after our visit, and have yet to hear back from them......
Food was subpar, they were out of Moscato, Pinot Grigio, cakes and dessert. Definitely not worth the money, but the view was spectacular.
One of the nicest Sunday brunches in the area. Beautiful view. Great food. Great value. I will definitely come back again!
We visited at an earlier time and it was quiet and not crowded which we appreciated. The waiter was courteous and professional as expected from a place of this caliber. We chose for the view of the falls and it did not disappoint as we had a great table. The food was excellent and we enjoyed it all: stuffed salmon - not dry, stroganoff was savory but not too salty, mozzarella sticks were the best we've ever had, drinks strong!
It was sadly a disappointment coming here. The food quality had gone downhill since my last visit. In addition, this restaurant accepts 1PM reservations when their last call for food is at 1:15PM. I honestly don’t think that I will be returning.
Beau's on the River is an outstanding venue to enjoy a quiet brunch on a Sunday morning. The service staff is attentive and friendly, they have an excellent selection of food choices, and the views of the river are spectacular.
The atmosphere of the place was very beautiful. I can't wait to come back.
The best part of our dining experience was our seating near the window and our servers, Wendy and Emily. It was our 50th wedding anniversary, kind of special. My wifes order of monk fish came luke warm, over cooked with little to no taste. It sat on a bed of diced, uncooked carrots and corn. My lamb chops were very good, I shared with my wife and tried to eat part of her monk fish. My wife was offered another meal, but the experience was already done. Wendy did mention to the manager our situation. We received two free drinks and a desert comp. Jury still out on our return. I had used them before for business dinners without a problem.
The staff was helpful and friendly. Atmosphere couldn’t have been better. The lamb was amazing as well as the mussels. Bon-Appetite!
Came at the end of the Sunday brunch. Everythimg was overcooked. Service was poor, seemed everyone was bothered to even be there.
There was problem with online reservations but overall services and food was great!
Salad bar was good. Omlet chef was helpful. The rest of the food was mediocre at best.
