We have been to this restaurant many times but they were really off tonight. After a half hour of waiting for a server to notice us we were quite frustrated. It seemed that they must have been short a waiter because it wasn't that crowded when we arrived. Even after the waitress finally served us she still wasn't very attentive and reached across us to pick up plates etc. Just not the normal service that we've had in the past. Too bad because we had friends with us to whom we'd been raving about this restaurant.
My husband and I brought my father here for a special night out! It’s a beautiful restaurant with a lovely view of the river. We enjoyed a table by the fireplace. We started with a cocktail that was delicious (hats off to the bartender!) The menu changes daily and that evening offered many unusual treats including duck, marrow, Brussels sprouts (which were AMAZING!) bacon wrapped dates to name a few. The quality of the food, presentation and service was fantastic. It was a lovely way to share a special evening.
Excellent meal overall including service, timing and quality of all courses. Lobster salad starter was probably the highlight with a mix of fresh fruits and vegetables and a nice portion of lobster. Venison was tender and flavorful. Ahi portion was generous with delicious sides.
Pleasant atmosphere and our table looked out toward the river. A bottle of Sancerre
rose, dessert and excellent coffee were also wonderful. We will definitely go again.
It was great food and the service was wonderful. Very nice!! I'm glad I went there. Birthdays are very special!
Some of the food was cold. We we're served half of our appetizer (escargot) and had to wait approx 5 min for bread. Drinks were given to wrong persons. Bartender was not familiar with wines at the bar. Parking was a haslle. Previous experiences at BB were excellent. Restaurant has great potential, just need to tweak the way service is delivered to diners.
Great food, great service in a beautiful location! Hard to beat! It’s our favorite restaurant in Reno!
The ahi tuna appetizer was past its prime, not happy about that. Somebody should have known this in the kitchen.
Jana was a great waitress she was friendly and super nice. She had ready answers for our questions about menu items and drinks. The food was fabulously prepared and paired. Rabbit with morels and halibut with prosciutto- sauces were delicious.
My family went to Beaujolais for Easter dinner. It was awesome, the food was delicious and the service was top notch.
We had a party of 3 for Easter Dinner. All three of us got the Prix Fixe meal. The food was excellent, the service was impeccable, and the serving sizes were perfect- did not leave feeling overful or hungry.
Been going there for years. Love the place. Need more help at the bar though.
Great place, awesome location with River view. Food choices are different with being French. I had Rabbit and Morel mushrooms, amazing!!
We are first time visitors to the Reno. Someone recommended this restaurant as a "must do" while we were here...it did not disappoint!! The food, the atmosphere
, and the staff was amazing! We will be back!
We have dined here often, at least 4 times a year, and have always been pleased with the food. This time we were there for a birthday and brought our own wine. They decanted it for us and the corkage fee was appropriate. ($25)
The service is always great and compliments the creative menu.
Fabulous - just fabulous food! We tried to have something totally different and we were so happy with our food. Just delicious! I highly recommend it!
We always have a lovely dinner at Beaujolais, however the table where we were seated has heat venting under the banquettes. The heat was blasting our legs most of the meal even though the marvelous service staff attempted to turn it down. It finally cooled off as we were ending our meal.
We all thought the dinner was excellent and the service was also. However, we all thought it was really a bit too pricey. I know ingredients cost more these days and staff is worthy of its time, but it will be quite a while before we go back because we just can't afford it very often.
Menu was country French ranging from steak and frites to cassoulet. Besides the individual items , there was a fixed price menu with optional wine pairings. Majority of wines were French but our server was very knowledgeable and recommended an excellent reasonably priced wine. We enjoyed it so much that we ordered a second bottle. Appetisers were excellent especially the mussels. We could have made a main course out of them. The onion soup gratinee was perfect. Some of the dishes featured duck confit which was done especially well, tasty and fell off the bone.
The ambiance is lovely. Quiet and not too busy. The food is usually good, but this time missed the mark. Nonetheless, wine and cocktails were great.
Window seating during winter months is cold and drafty.
We often find that our visits are received with inconsistent meal preparation. This visit was spot on! An excellent meal and well enjoyed. :)
This place is beautiful- cozy. Great location, and food is amazing. With all that said, it’s very expensive! Not a
Place I could afford too often
Super-Authentic French bistro atmosphere and menu.
Excellent food.
Great service.
We had a good meal - the appetizer was duck liver (Excellent) and Grille Mussels (Excellent) . The entrees of lamb and the daily cassoulet were good but not great. Wine was really good and our server Chiloe was very friendly and helpful. We have been several times and will go back.
Ordered price fix menu and very disappointed. For the $400 we ended up spending, we were very disappointed, except for the wine - it was very good. Also, food was served too quickly, even though we said we wanted to take our time. When I called to say we might be 5 minutes (which we were not) late because I wanted to make sure we didn't lose our table, I was told that there was another booking an hour and half later????? Felt like cancelling, then and it turns out, I should have! Unfortunate, because the food used to be great!
Went to the Beaujolais Bistro on a Friday night for a romantic dinner. It was an excellent choice that was a nice change from the casino steakhouses. The atmosphere was amazing, such a cute little house, we loved how the room was decorated also. Service was excellent, our waitress was attentive but also made herself scarce when not needed. We were also able to take our time and never felt rushed. The food was all excellent, there was a fixed price menu offered but we went our own route. The appetizer we chose, a goat cheese tartine, was our only regret. While good, it didn't feel as elevated as everything else we ate. The flavors were sort of muddled. Overall a great time and an easy restaurant to recommend!
Top dining experience in Reno.
One of the few gourmet restaurants in Reno.
This was our "go to" favorite restaurant before they expanded and moved to a new location. We were seated at 6:20. The waitress finally took our order for cocktails a half hr after we were seated. On our reservation my husband noted it was my Birthday. He again casually mentioned it to our waitress. Our order for dinner and appetizers was not taken until 7:10 or 7:15. and then we waited and waited and finally I got up to use the ladies and asked the waitress about our meal this was 8:00. First food showed up about 5 minutes later. The steak and frites were so tough it was impossible to cut the meat let alone chew it. (They did take it off the bill, but that is not the point) After waiting almost 2 hrs. for food and then getting truly mediocre food, never a mention of my Birthday. 6:15 to 9:15 just way too long for a Tuesday night dinner, with terrible food and condescending waitress leaves us wondering why we should return.
One of our best French meals ever, and thats saying a lot since we had just returned from two weeks skiing in the French Alps. Their onion soup is absolutely delicious. We lucked out because Beef Wellington (with filet mignon) was on the special fixed price menu that night & we were able to order it a la carte (can't eat 3 courses - too much food for us). Anyone who likes Beef Wellington knows its hard to find a restaurant that serves it. The service was great & it was relatively uncrowded because it was a weeknight. Wonderful evening.
We loved our experience and were very accommodating. We started as a large group and ended up with just 2. Food was spectacular. Will be back. Can’t wait🏅
My husband and I had a great night! Lee was our waiter and he took excellent care of us and made wonderful recommendations for our dinner! The food was amazing! The cauliflower soup was so rich and creamy, I could eat that everyday! We don’t get a lot of nights to ourselves, so having such a wonderful meal in such a great place being help by the superb staff made our night perfect!!
Convenient, local, always great exceptional food!
Very French menu but not too rich and with a contemporary flair. Truly the most delicious salad we've ever had. They split-plated the salad which we didn't remember to ask for. For us, split-plating always makes for a better experience. Delightful server, too.
We were introduced to this restaurant by friends who joined us for dinner. It was a remarkable expierence. The food, service and ambiance were great. These were joined by a beautiful snowfall and a fireplace that made it a winter joy. One in our party has several allergies and the chef prepared her meal perfectly. Highly recommended and can’t wait to return.
We received a recommendation to dine here from some friends. The experience was wonderful especially the food and the service. The only negative (and the reason why I gave it only four stars) is they started a fire in the fireplace. The smoke was so bad it was making everyone's eyes burn. Staff opened windows, but then it got real cold inside and many people had to put on jackets. We left smelling like a campfire.
We had a wonderful double date night. Service was above and beyond, and food was excellent as always. The meat preparations never disappoint here.
Celebrated our anniversary there and hadn't been there since Beaujolais was on West Street. Food was fine but not great...service was good..ambiance ok but very noisy. All things considered...especially the price, there are several other restaurants in Reno that are a superior overall.
Our experience was wonderful! The food was excellent and the re-purposed Craftsman style house very attractive and comfortable. Also the wait staff was friendly and helpful.
I particularly appreciated the "mocktail" and dairy-free options. Even the dessert menu included a dairy-free selection: delicious sorbet.
We'll be back!
Friends anniversary- got no frills.
