We were looking forward to eating outside and we so disappointed with the loud music outdoors! A large group arrived after we did so the service was poor. Onion soup and meat balls were good, but two salads were unappetizing. We were very disappointed.
The location is excellent. We sat outside and had a great view. The food and service was so-so. I had a $15 Bloody Mary, which seemed to be just tomato juice - really terrible. The eggs benedict were good. I asked for the hollandaise sauce on the side and they did that - but didn't think to ask if I would also like the salad dressing on the side - that would have been nice. Overall the service was very slipshod. It took at least 15 minutes for my husband's coffee to be served and we found out that they had sparkling and well as still water when a waiter asked the table next to us which they preferred. Go for the view.
Overall, a disappointing experience. The view and setting are spectacular. Came here with my husband and 85 yr old mother after the 9/11 museum, so we were looking for a fairly quiet spot where we could make a reservation. All that was fine -- reservation honored on time, choice of indoor or outdoor table. Very nice. The food and service after that point though, were disappointing. Two of us asked for coffee. It came luke warm. When we asked the waitress to warm it up it took a good 10 minutes for her to come back, and she brought with her a metal pitcher (like those typically used for cream) with more lukewarm coffee. My mom asked for half and half instead of milk. Took another 10 minutes for that to arrive, and now the coffee (which, by the way, tasted great) was cold instead of luke warm. At the end of the meal, my husband decided to give another shot, and also ordered coffee, at which time my mom asked for a refill. Still not hot, and they charged us for the refill! And the food. I had the goat cheese and asparagus omelette. It was a little bland, but fine. But it was served with a piece of ice cold, dry, toasted white bread. I would think a restaurant of this supposed caliber would serve something a little more interesting? Put butter on the side, or at least on the table? Again, had to ask for butter and by the time it arrived I no longer wanted the cold toast. My mom's beet salad and my husband's tuna tartare were both fine, but nothing special. Overall, given the prices , we were very disappointed. If you're going, stick to the cocktails and the view.
Fantastic restaurant situated in an amazing location! Would highly recommend for group all romantic evenings including business and pleasure. Close to the freedom tower with lovely water views!
Food, location, ambience excellent. Staff can be outright rude.
Bad service, small portion, staff w attitude, needs a lot of work in every aspect.
We had delicious food with fabulous water views! Very romantic! Would highly recommend!
Great experience...lovely day...we sat outside....started with the tuna tartar and a lovely glass of Sancerre...it was an excellent combo.....
even the bread and butter was better than most.....I then had their roast chicken....outstanding...falling off the bone delicious....we finished it off with the profiteroles for dessert....
I was there on business...my only regret was that my wife wasnt there to share the moment...she and I will go back soon.
Our waitress was flakey and didn’t bring he correct drinks then we had to ask her to order then she wasn’t the one to bring the food out or even accompany the serve who did to make sure we all received the correct food. Then we never saw her again and had to ask for our check. An hour lunch meeting became 1.5 solely due to her lack of care.
The food was great and so is the location especially if you work in FiDi. Sit on the patio if it is a nice day.
Food and service were excellent.
The restaurant was very loud and sort of took away from the romantic, quiet conversation mood.
We were sitting outdoors, gorgeous views, beautiful setting, excellent food, very efficient and friendly staff
Exhaust fan in kitchen malfunctioned before we could order. This left our clients to only order from the "Cold" plates available on the menu. We made the best of it, but were offered no discount, drinks, wine, etc for our inconvenience.
Great view, and nice summer feeling in the lounge area
We had rosé ( very nice for the price) and pretended we were in St Tropez...
Hélas food was disappointing ( as it had been on previous occasions(. Tuna tartare was grey and borderline not fresh
Bibb salad was plain
Oysters not so fresh
Après mido cocktail came without half of the ingredients
My advice is to stick to drinks and enjoy the lounging and view!
The food was absolutely excellent. This is probably one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The French wine list is both extensive and amazing. Into French wine? You will find something to love here!
Great! Beautiful setting and great portions
The restaurant is at the back of the market. The outdoor part is by the water and is a better choice than indoors. The staff was pleasant and polite. Food also came quickly.
Sepecial ambiance , good quality food , nice outdoor seating
feels like a corporate resturant , not run by the owner
Initial waitress had no clue when we asked what martinis they had which we thought was strange. She was quickly replaced by an excellent waitress and we didn't even make a complaint. Great place to eat!
Lovely place! Good food, service, and ambiance. So nice to finally have a quality restaurant in BPC. We eat here a lot.
Lovely view, tasty dinner and excellent service!
Never have I been seated on or near the water at the restaurant
The service was abysmal. We went for Sunday brunch and were 1 of 2 parties seated indoors / the music was blaring and the AC on full blast. We asked politely to turn them down slightly and were told we should speak to a manager who never surface.
We were told that breakfast was closing and was not sure if they would serve unless we put our food order in immediately, we were with a child and did so. The waiter never returned to confirm that our order would be honored.
For the next 25 minutes we were ignored by passing waitstaff despite trying to get their attention.
After 25 mins the food arrived - French toats, an omelette, posted eggs and 2 scrambled eggs.
Food was served with no condiments and with sat or pepper - after asking 2 x, pepper arrived and the mill was empty.
We had to practically tackle a waiter to order coffee.
Disorganized, disrespectful, and unwelcoming.
We had made a reservation - so not sure why they were so ill prepared.
Unfortunate because it's a beautiful location and attached to a very charming shopping mall.
Hopefully management reads this and takes action.
Food left a lot to be desired. Fish was dried out barley editable. Salad was not at all what it was supposed to be
The food is no different than the lunch counter inside at Le District, but twice as expensive. Good wine list however, and you can't beat the outside patio in the summer.
Met an old friend and had the lovliest of dinners on a perfect summer night, outdoors, by the water at the World Trade Center. The place is quite obviously on the 'hot' list, judging by the crowds, but the service was relaxed, the food tasty and plentiful, and the ambience delightful. The indoors is also an appealing space. Oh - and have a Frosee drink - heavenly!
Excellent meal. Croque Madame delicious. Good service. Did not like your Arnold Palmer!!
For a French brasserie it should be great! Staples so so. Took a long time to get food, order was wrong and no manager or anyone did anything(ex sorry we will take it off bill)
Loved it!! The food was awesome, service was great and in a super pretty space! Going back for sure
As always, the food is okay, the ambiance is amazing. If you get oysters and drinks it's a great time. You also really should sit outside.
The food, as always, was excellent. Our waitress was wonderful, she made a small mistake and more than made up for it in service and kindness. Beautiful night and the Hudson River off to the side made for a memorable meal.
Food was good and the service was also good. They took us early and seated us where requested. Nice to eat outside on a cool summer evening.
Onion soup, tuna tartar and hamachi crudo were very good. Roast chicken was also very good. Branzino is not great.
Would not go back for the food. Tuna tartare came out in a matter of seconds which explains why it tasted fishy, old and prepared way too far in advance. It was literally gray. Left it on the plate. Steak was ordered medium and came out black and blue it was so raw yet burnt on the outside. Couldn't get anyone's attention to send it back. The accompanying fingerling potatoes were ice cold and tasted old. They were def stale and reheated. My friend's sole was cold and tasteless. Nice view. Decent service but would no go back. Hostess was super nice and accommodating though.
The music is too loud outside.
After a difficult morning, we met here for brunch and the second we arrived, all tension left us. From the greeting at the entrance, to the warm + friendly staff, and--not least--the delicious food and lovely view, we felt welcomed and taken care of.
We could not have been more disappointed in this experience. Our waitress was AWFUL and we told the manager and SERIOUSLY, the manager knew EXACTLY WHO WE WERE TALKING ABOUT. She told us....you don't have drawn butter (gosh, a restaurant that serves lobster doesn't have drawn butter - she didn't even know what it was - OBVIOUSLY). Then, after eating shellfish with our hands (no forks given), we asked for hot towels and guess what - OUR WAITRESS TOLD US THERE ARE NO HOT TOWELS! Hey, wet a towel, put it in the microwave, grab a lemon wedge and THERE YOU GO! The food was BAD, the service was DEPLORABLE, this was a horrible experience all around and should have been great - the view is spectacular.
Go there for the croque moniseur. It's hard to beat, especially on a perfect day looking out at the river.
Definitely try it but certainly not for the food. The apps were ok. My lobster roll was the worst I've ever had. The gigantic dry roll was barely filled with the most tasteless and rubbery lobster. Paid $29 for that...
The Steak and frites is ok and enough for 2 if you get an appetizer.
Cocktails were weird: one super strong and small and the other one was watered down and bland.
Great place to meet friends for lunch. Perfect water view, great service, delicious special cocktails , & eclectic menu options. At $15-$16 a cocktail, cost for a meal adds up quickly but worth it
