What an excellent find! My sister, niece, and I went here a couple nights ago, and it was a great experience. The service was friendly, prompt, and professional; and we had a lovely table out on the patio. My sister and I both started out with salads that were very (too?) generously sized, while my niece really enjoyed her chicken satay. And all the savoury and sweet crepes were absolutely delicious! So many options on the menu and excellently executed. I'd happily go back when next I'm in town and wish it was tucked away in my own neighbourhood!
Fantastic as always. For the 1st time, I didn't get a crepe but got the steak au poivre. It was delicious. My wife stayed with her usual crepe, she loves it too much to stray. We also got a bottle of the Chateau La Bouree Bordeaux, which is quite good. As always, the service was friendly and attentive. Beau Monde continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Philly.
We had a special dinner celebrating my mother’s 75th birthday on a quiet Sunday evening. The service was very good even though they were short-staffed that particular night. Unique food and drinks in a unique environment, with both indoor and outdoor dining options.
I created my own crepe and we both opted for one of the house specialty drinks. There was no bartender so the one server on the floor did double duty for all the tables as well as bartender. She was fantastic and sadly, for once, i did not get her name.
Beau Monde never disappoints. Food was great, service outstanding.
I have been going to Beau Monde for 10 years or so and have always had a really good meal. On this occasion, the Escargot were good and the Onion Soup was decent (albeit not as good as usual). My Beef Bourbuignon crepe which is usually awesome - was AWEFUL. It was loaded with tomatoes, had very little beef and very little flavor.
Unfortunately, I was disappointed enough in both the food and service that after 10years or so I may not return.
Great afternoon lunch on a sleepy summer Saturday. While most of the city was down the Shore or on some exotic vacation, we pretended we were at a Parisian bistro -- and the food certainly transported us there, as always!
Very nice, quaint French restaurant. The staff as friendly and the food was outstanding!
My wife and I needed a ‘date’. It was a hard week.
Great food with marginal service - server seemed rushed and a bit grumpy.
Great food. Interesting and innovative dishes/crepes.
Very family oriented restaurant, sometimes making it loud with children not supervised. The waitstaff did try to resolve this but could only do so much. Nicely, they recovered by comping our dessert as a service recovery.
Great service! Table was all ready for us when we arrived early. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Food was delicious.
The food was great!! Their Bloody Mary is my favorite in the city. They were extra busy so our server hooked us up with bread. We had a great time and can’t wait to come back!
Crepes are their specialty ...had both a entree and dessert crepe..entree crepe excellent but very filling..that’s not a negative...just an FYI to not fill up on ‘starters “
I love Beau Monde! Came here a few years ago when I was in high school on a French Club trip, and recently came back to celebrate my birthday and it is just as wonderful as I remember it. The decor is just lovely, and the hostess and waitress were great as well. The drinks, soups, crêpes (both kinds), salad, and dessert were just so delicious (we got so much food!). Would absolutely recommend.
Arrived with my family and was pleasantly surprised by authentic look of a French bistro. We all were pleased with our selections and enjoyed the excellent service by Sabrina. Each one of us enjoyed our meal. In particular the beet salad was probably the best I've ever had and the dessert crepe wowed the table. Each entree was excellent and sharable as well.
Would defintely recommend Beau Monde and we will be returning!
Good food and drinks are to be found at this nice Queen Village hangout. The real star of the show is their wonderful music upstairs at their L 'Etage .
Always a great experience!
We go to Beau often. It’s our go to because it’s delicious, service is fantastic, reasonably priced, and there is nice outdoor seating. We will be back, and probably really soon.
Great food served in a charming environment. Outside seating is available in this old town Philadelphia neighborhood. Very nice wine and beer selection that is a great compliment to these marvelous crepes. If you don't come here, you've missed something special.
The service staff is unfortunate at best
Took out of town friends, so reserved in advance, though wasn't really necessary, probably because Memorial Day Sunday.
The accordion was way too loud to talk to the people we came with.
It was great
Always delicieux in a lovely ambiance. Such a pleasant dining experience year after year.
If you want to have the authentic taste of a sweet crepe, you will have it there! (source: I'm a French man). The savory crepes was delightful and made me remember dearly about what I had regularly back in French Brittany.
This restaurant has a really nice decor and is welcoming. I had a very good time with my date and will definitely come back there.
Fun note: she had a first French style snail there and liked it!
Go for the strawberry, banana, hazelnut crepe.
Food was good but not as good as expected. Restaurant wasn't even half full at 1pm on Saturday the service was horrible. Took 30 mins to get drinks and then another 50 minutes to see any food! Was so disappointed - will not be going back.
I would recommend to a friend, but here's the deal. We went there for brunch and the food takes a whileeee to come out. If you have the time, great! If you can't stand waiting a while for some food, it might not be for you. We went on a Saturday around noon. The tables were less than a third full, but despite that the food took about an hour to come out. The server was friendly and quick with the drinks, so I can't blame that for the food taking the amount of time it took to cook. Maybe hire an extra cook? But perhaps the longer time is warranted due to the food quality, because the crepes were excellent. And everything is a reasonable price! If you're going here for weekend brunch, want to get some solid drinks and food, and aren't in a rush, this is the place for you.
The food was amazing, the ambience was nice, felt the Parisian setting but was very loud. Had a great dining experience
We always enjoy our time at Beau Monde. It does get loud though, making it difficult to hear one another.
Absolutely fabulous! Always super fresh, delicious and fun! Very European! A lovely dining experience. 👍🏼👍🏼
Everything here is amazing. I would highly recommend this place
Delicious food and great service. We really enjoyed our sweet and savory crepes.
As always, great place to share a meal. Get’s a little noisy on weekends, so dinner conversation isn’t as easy as it is during week. Food, service, ambience always a most pleasant experience.
Beau Monde is an ideal restaurant for a business meeting (as well as personal). It creates a feeling of "specialness" that I want to convey to my clients.
Scallop crepes were AMAZING. Pate was good. Salad was fine but overpriced. Lobster Bisque was VERY DISAPPOINTING. It tasted like spaghettio's sauce with imitation crabmeat. If that was actually lobster, it was prepared in a way that made it look and taste like surimi (fake crab). $14 was way too much for that, and it left a bad taste in my mouth both literally and figuratively. It was Valentine's Day, so I wonder if they ran out of the real stuff and just found something else to serve for the latter half of the evening.
