    We’ve been coming to Beatrix for many years and our experiences are always positive. Staff are friendly and provide well informed suggestions for our drinks, lunch’s, dinners and deserts. Today we had an out of town guest with us and he shared the same sentiments when we finished our conversations and our meals!! One suggestion, make sure you make reservations in advance, arrive on time and take care of your server. Hopefully, our paths will cross next time we’re there!     The breakfast menu was fresh and great priced! We enjoyed coming here so much we came the next day. Highly recommend the chicken sausage and brown sugar bacon. Chai tea latte was the perfect temperature to drink right away, which was greatly appreciated!

    Food was great. Service seemed. Bit short staffed but lovely. I do have to say something that shocked me, the bathrooms were absolutely disgustingly dirty!!! I was going to say something but could not find a manager and the greeters did not seem interested.

    Beatrix is part of the Lettuce Entertain You group, and as such, it is reliable. It’s a bit pricey—everything seems to be, these days—but the salmon, burger, and whitefish were very good.

    I overall enjoy Beatrix but some notes for the kitchen as I’ve noticed this consistent pattern: the burger is under seasoned and always over cooked to well done despite being asked for cooking temp (which I always ask for medium). The A salad is underdressed and is in need of citrus in the vinaigrette especially when you have a peppery abundance of arugula. The chicken enchiladas are flavorful but the level of cheese being used inside is much too heavy and takes away from an authentic tasting Mexican dish.

    I enjoyed my time at the bar. It definitely fills up during meal time so recommend you make your reservation and not rely on walking in.

    Our server didn’t seem to check in if we needed anything. We need to find him to order, ask for drinks/water and the check. We were disappointed with the service. Food was good.

    Truly fantastic. Amazing breakfast and brunch items and great prices. Food quality is very sophisticated like a 5-star hotel, but the pricing is very reasonable. Highly recommend the egg white omelet, breakfast burrito, lemon pancakes etc. Awesome kids meals at incredible prices. Great coffee program too. The Mexican cold brew was amazing. House coffee was very good too. We liked it so much we went again the very next day!

    Only criticism would be that Beatrix no longer offers eggs benedict. A search for eggs benedict still lists Beatrix as one of the best. I improvised to my satisfaction.

    Had a reservation and were seated on time. Waited 20 minutes with no server and then moved to the bar. Service there was ok but not great. Clearly an issue of ineffective floor management and poor staff training on a busy Saturday afternoon

    The 3 of us had a wonderful lunch. Such an interesting, varied and delicious menu. Everything was very fresh. It was bustling but we were not rushed. It is a very inviting environment too.

    Came for a late brunch on Monday so not crowded. Got avocado toast. Best ever. Very spicy and great with a couple of over easy eggs on top. My wife loved her Shashuka.

    We were on our way to a meeting at Northwestern hospital and stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. Our server was friendly, but a bit abrupt. The food was good, not over the top, but very good. My husband had the miso glazed salmon and I had the green chili chicken enchiladas. The portions are adequate, and not overly large.

    Very nice place to have a meal, breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food is always good. We go there regularly and wish they would change up the menu from time to time. The wait staff is superb.

    This was the second time I visited Beatrix during my short visit ti Chicago. I have a laundry list of food allergies. They did an exceptional job of assessing what I could eat and making a great recommendation. I had the same waiter both times. He was fabulous and attentive. I’ll definitely return on future visits to Chicago.

    The food at Beatrix is consistently very, very good. I am a big fan of the Straight A salad and I love the chicken enchiladas. The server was very personable and good, but the restaurant was understaffed that night and he had a hard time keeping up.

    I love all the Beatrix restaurants and have eaten at several and I have eaten at them often. This is what troubled me about this visit: I had a mid-morning reservation and the restaurant was practically empty. (It remained over half empty the whole time I was there.) I was a 70-year-old woman, eating alone. The hostess automatically gave me the worst table in the restaurant, a tiny two-top immediately next to the kitchen and servers' station. I told the woman who seated me that the table was not acceptable and she gave me a nice booth. , Women of my age group in that neighborhood account for a lot of spending dollars. It should not be automatically assumed that we will simply settle for the worst you can give us. (And btw, I have not encountered this at any other Beatrix restaurant.)
