I chose Beatrix for a low-key birthday brunch with a friend. Eggs & grits with roasted veggies dish was delicious. The server pointed out that the lemon ricotta pancakes would be a fluffier texture than regular pancakes, but we both thought they could use some more flavor. They were pretty good, but not great. Overall, Beatrix remains a go-to spot for brunch, lunch, and coffee with delicious, creative, and healthier food options and fantastic beverages.
It was solid. We had about 7 water bottles, 4 for one person. There aren’t very many vegetarian options. Which is unfortunate. Please advise
Did not have a great dining experience at Beatrix this time. Beatrix describes its restaurant as "The New Healthy." Well, I am a pretty healthy eater, I eat primarily vegetarian or fish, and am gluten free. I had a hard time finding much healthy to eat here, except for salmon and salad. They don't even offer any side dishes of vegetables, which I can sometimes create an entree with at most restaurants. Service was friendly, but dishes were not well timed. Our appetizer, salad, and fries (which were practically cold) all arrived at the same time. The restaurant didn't even seem that busy, I don't know what the problem was.
I had a hard time choosing what I wanted to eat, there were so many unique and tempting
dishes. I finally chose the Neatloaf, turkey meatloaf made with ground turkey, sweet potatoes and kale. Our server explained the Neatloaf name reflected that only the best part of the turkey was used in the dish. And delish it was, they managed to combine comfort food with healthy ingredients resulting in a very tasty dish. I need to go back, much more I'd like to try.
Went to brunch on a very busy Saturday. Definitely make reservations because there was a long wait. The food was very good - Had the chicken chili with two fried eggs on top. The dish was so flavorful and a bit spicy. Also we order the burger & fries which were good. The fries were crispy which we enjoyed. Service was a bit chaotic as they had so many tables, but overall it was a great experience. Would definitely go back
This is the second time I've gone to Beatrix (once to River North, now to Streeterville) with a reservation, but it still took a long time to be seated. I don't know if these experiences were both out-of-the-ordinary, but I was frustrated with how making a reservation didn't seem to lessen the wait by much. The first time it took 45 minutes to be seated. This more recent time took 25 minutes, and when I asked the hostess how much longer it would take, it appeared that she had forgotten about my party, and we were seated promptly. The food is excellent (the cauliflower grits are AMAZING), and the atmosphere is really comfortable in terms of spaciousness, great aesthetics, and good lighting. However, the wait frustration is what I remember the most :(
Great spot to grab brunch with the girls! The food was great and the brunch cocktails refreshing.
Delicious food. Wonderful service. Definetly an enjoyable and go back to place.
This was our first time to enjoy dinner at Beatrix. We have dined at this restaurant for breakfast and brunch when visiting Chicago. The evening meal did not disappoint! We both enjoyed a fresh-squeezed juice (pineapple, pear & ginger and mango, orange & pineapple). The pot roast filet mignon with caramelized pearl onions & mushrooms with mashed yukon gold potatoes was outstanding. Our server Elyse B was pleasant and packed us up fresh Dulce Cookies to enjoy as a snack on the plane trip home. We always enjoy dining at Beatrix-Streeterville!
One of the few brunch places where one doesn't feel rushed. So many places are more concerned on turnover, but we were able to catch up without feeling that our waiter wanted us to leave.
Had a great meal and service was awesome
Had to ask for water at least 3 times but the food made up for lacking service
Made a reservation...but waiting just a few extra minutes...no big deal.
Great service...food came late and was not hot...manager stopped by and was very nice...We ate the warm food anyways....Was given a nice dessert for the warm food...
Food was okay. Nothing special. Much prefer going to Beatrix for brunch. Tried the butternut squash ravioli which was three large noodles stuffed along with the beef shortrib stroganoff which was okay but had a slight sour aftertaste. Fake candles on table were filthy - covered in dust and hair. Looked like they hadn't been washed or replaced in years.
We enjoyed brunch at Beatrix! We had the fresh-squeezed sweet valencia orange juice and several cups of coffee to get us started. The lemon pancakes 🍋🥞 with blackberries and lemon syrup were melt in your mouth delicious! The eggs your way 🍳, hash browns, brown sugar bacon 🥓 and toast was very good. Our server Arielle even got us cups of coffee to go. ☕️ We enjoy dining at Beatrix when visiting Chicago. We were working at the International Home & Housewares Show and two of the mornings we stopped and picked up lemon angel food muffins and lemon blueberry muffins! The food and service is outstanding at Beatrix-Streeterville!
Great healthy options! Went for a business lunch.
I hosted my brother, who was in from out of town, and my sister for lunch. This was my second visit, their first. The food and service here are outstanding, and the value is high. It’s a great place for anyone working or visiting the hospital campus, or for anyone looking for a great, casual dining experience a few steps from the Magnificent Mile. I’ll be returning more than once, to be sure.
A little loud for a business meal but convenient location.
Everything was exceptional from start to finish. Great choice for breakfast/brunch when in Chicago. Highly r commended,
In my experience the food is always good at any Lettuce restaurant. Usually the service is also. It was a busy Saturday afternoon, I had a reservation at 1 for 7 (we dropped down to 6 at the last minute) and we arrived at 12:35. She told me it was going to be closer to our reservation time so I grabbed a bottle of prosecco for the 6 of us and we sat in the far end bar area. At 12:55 I went to check on our reservation (still before our actual time) and was told that they called my name a few times but had already passed us.
We were seated and waited 15 min to place our order. We did food and drinks all at once since service was slow. Food came out first and our mimosas arrived when we were almost done with the meal. One of my friends stood up and inquired about the drinks but no one followed up. There was a large table next to us that sat down AFTER us that received their drinks and food in a timely manner. There was no apology for the delay and my mother-in-law didn't like hers, but we couldn't send it back because there was no-one to talk to around.
I paid the bill and left. Overall a big disappointment for a LEYE restaurant overall.
Great kale salad and hummus! Dessert was also delicious! Terrific service too! My daughter didn’t like her Cesar salad and they were quick to change it and make her happy.
Great brunch for a group. Unique and healthy menu
We had a lovely meal. Our server was super helpful in providing recommendations and the food was delicious. The desserts are amazing. Everyone in our party was very happy.
My salmon was over-cooked after I specified ‘medium rare’ and mentioned problems with this on past visits. It was brought to our table quite over-cooked and had to be re-done — an unnecessary disruption and inconvenience.
The way the manager handled this situation was disappointing. He approached and consoled yet, he did not even politely offer to take any of the price off the bill to make up for this. All the while, my husband had to eat while his food was warm, leaving us no option but to dine seperately.
Consistently great food and service. A favorite for lunch and was a treat for our relative from the suburbs who had an appointment at Northwestern. Definitely quiet enough to converse with family, and if you have time they don’t rush you out. Also note when at Beatrix for a business lunch they can get you in and out quickly. I recommend a reservation or you may wait 15-20 over the lunch rush.
CREATIVE MENU WITH WELL PREPARED FOOD...i GO HERE FOR LUNCH WHEN i HAVE HOSPITAL APPOINTMENT BUT WOULD MAKE THIS MY PRIMARY DESTINATION BECAUSE OF ITS CROWDED NOISY ATMOSPHERE
This is a neighborhood favorite. It is equally good for a casual meal with friends and a special occasion. They use quality ingredients, expertly prepared but not unnecessarily fussy. The atmosphere is warm and the service is excellent.
Great brunch menu, service was excellent.
Always a nice place to lunch or brunch with girlfriends. One of my neighborhood favorites. Love their crispy kale salad with chicken breasts and turkey meat loaf.
I decided to go there because online it said they had good vegetarian options. I tried to ask for those options and the server just limited those options to two and was not very helpful. I was very disappointed but the food was good. The service was not. He didn’t check on us very often and was not very nice.
Beatrix is a great place for breakfast or lunch. Great food! Attentive service and a nice decor. Have been there several times and have always had a very positive experience.
I didn’t realize Beatrix had a Streeterville location. Great to know about. Same great food in a quieter location. Gluten free menu has plenty of options. The bakery was almost empty by the time we finished dinner so wish we had gone to first. Great service, good food, fun evening
My favorite dish at Beatrix Streeterville is the Enlightened Ceasar Salad with Greek Yogurt Dressing. I always top the salad with the salmon filet which makes for a delicious meal. Glad to have Beatrix in the Streeterville neighborhood. We need more LEYE restaurants in Streetervilled.
We had great service & the food was very good!
Went for lunch, prices are a bit high but food was good. I heard dinner is expensive and not justified. Recommend reservations even for lunch. Not happy to be seated by kitchen door when we make reservations, those tables should be for walk ins.
Servers were efficient. Food was unique and good. Decent size portions. Kind of a hidden gem by LEYE.
Loved my cauliflower salad and the chia desert! Great service! Asked for a window quiet table and it was ready for us!
Will return, everything was perfect!
Had family at Northwestern Hospital....ate here for breakfast lunch and dinner and even coffee....loved the take out also.
Real gem of a place
Without doubt, Chicago's best French fries: garnished with sishito peppers, hot peppers, lemon slices.
Creative Food options with great service. If we lived closer, we would probably go more often. I loved the cauliflower grits and also the quinoa cakes.
