The place is dependable and the food healthy. Great to have a table by the window. Didn't expect the lounge-like dining chairs to be on wheels. They looked like hand-me downs from an old hotel. Supposed to add to the informal, cool look.
Amazing! Drinks, food, service..it was all amazing!!
I was very excited to try Beatrix out because so many people told me it was good. I checked the menu out before going and saw some great vegan options. However, I find out at the restaurant that they discontinued some of those items either because it was the dinner menu or because they couldn’t keep up with the quality. So, if you’re vegan, not the best place to go unless you want a salad and soup. Otherwise, great atmosphere and at least one server was very friendly.
St Patrick’s Day
St Patrick’s day brunch was awesome my party and I had a great time and a good meal
The food was very good but the service was awful. Would not return. Made reservations well in advance and arrived early. Waited 20 mins before we realized the wait staff forgot to prep our table. During the course of the meal multiple drinks were forgotten as well as someone’s entire food order.
My friends and I went here on St. Patricks day for brunch. First of all, I may be biased because Beatrix is easily one of my favorites for a brunch in Chicago. However, my friends whom I brought here for the first time were surprised at all the vegetarian options they have. They loved the Quinoa burger. The freshly squeezed in-house snaps are a bonus. Everything about this place is right. I’m a fan for life.
Food was great, service was great! Mimosa's are amazing!
Beatrix was great! The menu offers some really unique and intriguing options and the food we ordered was absolutely fantastic. The only reason I'm giving it 4 and not 5 stars is that there was a pretty significant gap between the appetizer and entrees and the person I was with was missing an ingredient that should have been on her dish. The amount of time it took to retrieve that ingredient was borderline unacceptable but everything else about the experience was terrific so I'm willing to chop it up to how busy they were. I would definitely go again.
Great spot for lunch! And they have the most delicious gluten free vegan chocolate chip cookie!!!
Fulton Market location has better service. We checked in for our reservation and they forgot that we checked in..we had to go up And ask for a status, after seeing so many tables open for seating.
Two dirty serving items, unusably dirty, a spoon and a coffee cup. Maybe a dishwasher problem ?
Two items ordered with a request to exclude something, and both came with those items.
An item ordered for the center of the table to share was dropped off without a serving spoon, as was an order of oatmeal served with no spoon.
Very nice waiter. But the meal was a mess.
My date is a vegetarian and she really liked the food.
We had attentive service and excellent food
I’m here almost every day and I love it! The staff is super nice, the coffee is great and there are gluten free options. I love working here during the day, brunch is a fave of mine here and now it’s become a spot for a dinner night out with my gfs. During the summer, there’s outdoor seating
Overall food was disappointing.
I eat out 6 to 8 times per week, and am accustomed to receiving adequate, but not outstanding service as I did this week at Beatrix/River North. An unfortunate incident delayed my lunch partner and I ordered for us both. Our waitress and the manager went above and beyond in accommodating us as she continued to be delayed. Have never experienced this level of kind kindness and concern from a restaurant . The food was delicious and ambiance lovely as well.
My boss was in town and vegetarian. Following our business meeting we were both hungry and I suggested Beatrix as I was sure he could find something he'd like on the menu. We split the 3A salad which is always delicious and both had the seasonal ravioli which was excellent. He enjoyed the meal so much he said he would plan on eating at Beatrix the next time he's in town.
The noise level was a bit challenging but not a turn off.
Very nice brunch! Plenty of vegan options too - delicious!
While I love eating at Beatrix and it is the regular haunt of a small group of my girlfriends for Breakfast Club whenever we can get together, this past Sunday, I think was the last time we will eat here. There is a server there - a wispy male who the first time we had him did the same thing. He tried to shoo us out of the restaurant as soon as we were done eating. Telling us it was busy, rushing us to take the check and afterwards dropping hints for us to leave. Since it was the first time this happened, we let it slide. This second time however was just blatantly rude. I understand its a busy time - Sunday brunch but we are paying customers and i was still finishing my coffee. He told us it was busy, kept coming back to the table trying to usher us out. Asked me if he could get my coffee to go - VERY VERY RUDE comments. I wanted to finish my coffee goddammit! We ignored him several times until he sent over another lady to ask us if we needed anything else and at that point we were just over it. It is HIGHLY offensive to shush your paying guests out of your restaurant and I go here regularly for breakfast. Real shame.
Fun lively atmosphere with good selection of interesting breakfast foods.
Absolutely loved this place. Going to have to make another stop at their bakery before our trip to Chicago is over!
Amazing food and at a reasonable price. Would defiantly choose this restaurant again and recommend it to others.
Our waitress Jesse B was awesome, props to her for giving us a great experience!
Our dinner here was spectacular. We were seated by the floor manager (whose name I have forgotten - apologies!! ), who, when he learned we hadn’t been there before, sent out the seasonal appetizer for us on the house (the beets and goat cheese - HIGHLY recommend!) Our server was attentive and funny and generous with his time and our questions, especially because we had someone with celiac disease in our party, and we wanted to make sure we were ordering the right foods. The pot roast, mole salmon, and ravioli were all spectacular, and the cocktails especially were very well done. We were a little afraid that the cost would not line up with the quality of the meal, but we were completely wrong - and we will absolutely be back.
Solid casual dining. Good for groups. Friendly service. Nice array of salads, snacks and entrees. Desserts and coffee. Breakfast, lunch or dinner. Reasonably priced alcohol selections.
Loved the chopped salad! The salmon was excellent! Our server was great. Our table was by the door and there was a bit of a draft. Otherwise, great atmosphere!
Delicious food. Wonderful options - something for everyone. Server was attentive and helpful. Will be back and would recommend.
The hummus and brussel sprouts were really good!!!
I have celiac disease and they were so fantastic. Best restaurant experience since my diagnosis
This was our first time in Chicago and decided to try this restaurant for Dinner on our last day. Every one was very friendly and welcoming. Every single dish of food we had was amazing and the drinks were great as well! But what truly made our dinning experience great was our server DAVID. He had an amazing personality and went above and beyond for us. He made our night unforgettable. If again in Chicago, I will definitely come back!!
Love this place and the food is conscience
This is a perfect place for Sunday brunch. The server was very accommodating to specific dietary needs of one in our party and helped make the birthday celebration extra special for our group. The food is fantastic as well!
I went to Beatrix several times - food is most of the times as expected - service bad - not very present and quite snob
Terrific meal and fantastic service! Started with the burrata with incredible kale pesto. The roasted chicken, delicious and juicy! Finished with the Oh My Caramel Pie, decadent! Already looking forward to next time!
I love that Beatrix has a gluten free menu and a dessert that is gluten free and dairy free. Thank you. Our server was fabulous making the experience even better. I’m sorry I can’t remember his name.
I had poached eggs and they were wonderful. Service was a bit slow, it was very busy so it was loud. Drinks are expensive.
Waffles over cooked
we had a great time. Fun spot, great food, and good service. We look forward to going back.
