Beatrix - River North
Beatrix is open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night offerings, as well as brunch on Saturday and Sundays.
All pastries, breads and sweets are baked in house daily. Some of our favorites include Sadie's Crunch Cake, Honey Butter Cinnamon Buns and Chocolate Chunk Cookies. Our coffee and tea program will showcase two iconic Chicago roasters, Intelligensia and Metropolis and specialty offerings like Nitro, Bulletproof, and more!
Buen ambiente, comida sana y a buen precio.
Everything was great. The food was very good. Service could have been a tad better. Would go back.
Came in SOLEY for the shakshuka only to find out it was only offered on weekdays. Would be nice if they noted that online. Order the cauliflower grits instead, which were supposed to come with Brussels but all I got were a few crispy leaves that seemed almost thrown on there at the last minute. My sister's pancakes may have been overcooked but we weren't too sure. My dad's enchiladas caused him to be in the bathroom for a while afterwards... (haha). I am mad that I didn't get my shakshuka, but the atmosphere was super nice, our waiter was kind, and the OJ was delicious and refreshing.
Phenomenal food, service and ambiance. Gluten free options were ample and they took time to ask if it was an allergy as opposed to preference. The caramel miso salmon was unbelievable.
Solid river north brunch spot. Always busy so do book on weekends. Usually when busy the service is still good, but this time my food was ice cold. I told our server but he didn’t say or suggest anything. I’m willing to accept it was a one off but I was disappointed.
Excellent food and friendly staff. Definitely worth trying.
First the menu - The menu gave vegans and vegetarians a lot of options without compromise, and without othering. Same for teetotalers. Leaving plenty of delicious choices for the omnivores and imbibers - it's a great place to go with coworkers where people who refrain won't feel awkward or left out.
Now the actual food - I can die now - divine.
Great service - just on top of it, not intrusive.
GORGEOUS dining room where you could go dressed to the nines, or in your work appropriate causals.
We were in from out of town and it we were not disappointed with our choice.
Beatrix is our brunch stop every time we go to the city! This experience was stellar, just like all of the others! We’ll definitely be back and have (and will continue) to recommend to others!!
excellent food and interesting breakfast menu. great for entertaining friends from out of town
The pot roast, egg and cheddar breakfast sandwich is always delicious and satisfying. Enjoy it!
Service was great. Got the Prime Burger with Havarti and avocados. Happy hour only had $6 wine. No food or beer.
The butternut squash soup is so yummy! I crave it here as well as the amazing "Oh My Caramel Pie"
Recently tried something new, a delicious seasonal bourbon cocktail - SO great! I highly recommend this spot and dine at least monthly, usually with a friend who is in from out of town. I always suggest this spot because it's always good no matter which meal - breakfast, lunch or dinner - it's terrific!
Great staff, so friendly!
Food was very good, as usual for Beatrix. Having a conversation was difficult because of the loud music.
A most pleasant place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast! Staff are amiable, baked goods are delicious, the menu offerings are unique, and the lemon pancakes are delightful! Not the place to go if you need a quick breakfast.
I had a great time at Beatrix this past weekend. Our server was very friendly and rather helpful when she told us about menu items and suggestions.
Met friends friends here for brunch while passing through Chicago. We were trying to decide on a restaurant and happened to meet a bartender who works here. We glad we took Autumn’s suggestion because we were not disappointed. Very happy she said to make a reservation because the restaurant was packed. We arrived early and were seated shortly thereafter. Good fresh food made with quality ingredients. Excellent service.
When we arrived the line was too long, and they had a lot of open tables. We were very disappointed in the host stand. It seemed like they didn’t know what was going on in front of them. My friend and I waited for 2 minutes in front of 2 hosts that were talking about their floor plan but we were not even acknowledged. Not even an eye contact, nothing. Very disappointing! After we were finally greeted, we still had to wait 5 minutes to get sat. They were definitely not short staffed.
Everything else was great, service, food... but host stand needs a lot of attention.
Best brunch spot in Chicago!! Highly recommended!
AMAZING thank you
Great menu variety and service.
Very good place! Great food!
The food was superb!!! A bit loud, but not terrible. The pot roast egg sandwich was by far the table’s favorite (though every dish was delish). The brown sugar bacon was fantastic!!!! We will be back.
While our server was excellent, with just the right amount of attention the food was a bit of a disappointment. After ordering our cauliflower Kung Pao as an appetizer it came within 3 minutes and was lukewarm. Also the main meals that my wife and son had also could have been hotter.
Fantastic across the board!
Our server was fantastic; attentive but not hovering. We were seated promptly and given time to peruse the menu. We wanted to catch up on our lives so we did not feel rushed to order or to give up our table. The food was tasty.
Affordable and easy brunch in a busy part of the city!
Great looking place .. awesome waitress .. food was really cold
Really enjoyed breakfast here. It taste great was quick and our waitress was excellent.
Loved everything about the meal, drinks and setting! Thanks
Good choice for brunch at the weekend in the Near North neighbourhood. Varied crowd with locals and visitors. Plenty of tasty options on the menu and an attractive drinks list. Only problem was that my choice of rose’ wine was obviously corked and yet the glass that replaced it was also corked. I’m not sure that they agreed but did have the good grace to offer an alternative white wine which was fine. There is sufficient room between the tables so although the noise level was very high, a conversation can be had without having to shout. Why are US restaurants incredibly noisy?
Always reliable. Try to avoid on the weekends as the crowds are just horrible
The food was very tasty, when your finished eating you feel full but not uncomfortably stuffed.
Excellent food and service.
Great service and food
We had a great time and were well-accommodated as a group of 7. Food and service were on point.
We arrived ten minutes early and were seated 20 minutes late. Three groups of people were seated before us, even though we had a reservation. The hostess was rude and unhelpful. We will not be returning.
Had to wait for our table when we had a reservation. Other than that good food!
Food was excellent and fairly priced, drinks were great (loved the boozy banana joe), place was packed (we were seated at 11:05 for a 10:45 reservation). Overall a pleasant brunch even with 2 kids.
Coffee was amazing and the food was great too! We had a party of five and agreed that the chicken tinga and enchiladas were the best dishes. The cauliflower grits were a bit over seasoned for my palate. Presentation was wonderful and great ambiance at the restaurant.
Perfect spot for date night with a small but diverse and generally healthy menu so there’s something for everyone.
