   We had a waiter, who was French. He was honest about his choices on the menu and he was spot on. He suggested the short rib and it was unlike any other I’ve had. Top notch service and food

   No smile from hostess or eye contact. Our server had no energy, no eye contact with us, could not offer suggestions or replacements. His monosyllabic answers were quite frustrating. Also was sorry to learn Beatrix's food is now pre-made that morning and simply reheated in the kitchen (this is what the server told us). Beatrix's menu has been reduced, which left only one entree which appealed to the guest of honor (Birthday). That entree was already sold out at 12:15PM. Also, restaurant and server made no notice of Birthday Request. Not like it used to be; no plans to return.

   coffee was great, loved the hazelnut oat mocha iced. chia seed pudding was not great in my opinion - if you're a sweet breakfast person like me, I'd go for something else.

   Whenever I'm in Chicago, I make sure I have breakfast(s) at Beatrix River North. The restaurant is a great, the menu is very interesting, the staff is excellent, and the restaurant has a cool Chicago vibe. It is wonderful place to begin your day.

   The restaurant was under-staffed for a very busy Sunday night, and I think the experience really suffered. Drinks were slow to come out, and the food was just ok. Really slow dining experience and pace. By the time we were asked about dessert, our party was just ready to leave.

   We waited 20 minutes for service, but no one came to our table. I had to approach the host who notified the server that we were there. We had a nice meal and 3 out of 4 of the entrees were exceptional. (Two steaks and one crusted whitefish) One meal was the blackened fish tacos which was deconstructed, a small portion and leaning toward over cooked. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't worth the price. We would definitely give this restaurant another try especially for their delicious looking breakfast menu.

   I set the reservation for two 8:45p. It was a lovely entrance, and the hostess (I’m upset I didn’t get her name), was so kind and sweet! We bonded over a mutual location we resided in. Our waitress Alison was also professional and attentive. She was definitely knowledgeable on the menu and recommended so great choices. The bar was accommodating as well when we didn’t see our favorite libations on the menu. That was definitely a plus! The atmosphere was definitely beautiful and calming. I will be visiting Beatrix-River North again.

   Haven’t been in Downtown Chicago in years. So, I had Great experience at Beatrix. My daughter Graduated and without informing them the manager brought out some delicious pastries. Extremely impressed with the service. Will go again.

    Great food and ambiance. But poor service, unfortunately. The food and first round of drinks came almost at the same time. And then we were barely checked on. The waiter forgot my second drink. And the place wasn’t even busy, the rush hour was over

    We were looking for a nicer place to enjoy breakfast in River North and discovered Beatrix. What an enjoyable experience. Restaurant features a coffee bar with a huge bakery case for those looking to grab a bite and get a caffeine jumpstart to start the day. Breakfast/brunch menu has something for everyone and all of our selections were fresh and delicious. Paola, our server, was such a delight and provided warm, attentive service. Beatrix offers a relaxed atmosphere and a cool vibe. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Chicago. High marks all the way around!

    Brown sugar bacon was wonderful. Really enjoyed the lemon pancakes. Orange juice seemed overpriced and was pretty sour, but the only downside of our experience.

    This was our second visit, our first was last year and it almost exceeded our last experience! Rachid, our server, was super friendly and made us feel like we were in a five star restaurant. We’ll definitely be back next time. Great food, too!

    The burger was cooked perfectly (med rare) and the Straight A salad was delicious and healthy so you don’t feel as guilty having a yummy cookie for dessert 😀 We sat outside with our dogs on a beautiful day.

    The food was good and our server Rachid was very friendly and helpful with the menu. I ordered based on his suggestions and he didn’t disappoint. The slow cooked short rib was absolutely delicious. The ambiance is nice too. Prices are very reasonable in my opinion. Great experience overall.

    Have been to Beatrix many times. Understand we are in a challenging environment and staff called in sick, our visit was not a good experience. National Restaurant Show in town. Foodies and critics everywhere, every restaurant needs to be "on their A Game" not knowing who was at their tables. There were 9 of us at our table. Food was cold, unappealing and service very slow. The manager did offer complementary apps and dessert, of which was appreciated. Would I return to Beatrix? Yes, but I would go without a group of foodies with set expectations.

    Love Beatrix--have been here many times, always delicious, LOVE the bakery! Great coffee, love the salads, the egg white omelette was yummy, cinnamon bun to die for! Especially nice in the summer with outside seating and the big windows open!

    Brunch was outstanding. Great drinks, Bloody Mary in particular. Service was attentive and the food was delicious. Portions were a tad small but that is really nitpicking. The options on the brunch menu are plentiful and creative. Inside seemed a bit loud but outside dining was awesome. Great ambiance on a beautiful day. This is a home run and a no brainer for brunch.     Unfortunately, this was a disappointment. I had a cocktail at dinner, which just tasted like it was watered down. There’s really was no other flavor than liquid. The appetizer we had was good, the buffalo meatballs. My main, which was roast chicken with frites was very underwhelming and had no real flavor, and the frites arrived at the table already cold. I went here to catch up with a friend whom I hadn’t seen in 10 years so the ambiance and service were perfect but the food/drink was just not good overall.

    Our server, Alexi, understand that we needed to be in and out on a limited time frame. The menu was varied and our food was very good. The baked-to-order flatbread was fantastic. I couldn’t be happier with this choice.

    Unfortunately, it took at least ten minutes for a server to bring us water, after being sat 15 minutes past our reservation. This is not the first time we have experienced this issue while dining at Beatrix. We love the food and atmosphere but it is getting harder and harder to come back when we continuously have issues with our servers.

    Absolutely the worst restaurant my wife and I have ever been to in all of Chicago. It took almost a full hour for us to get initially served, and then the waiter only came back every thirty minutes after that. Horrible service. And it was ridiculously loud to the point where you can’t even hear each other talk. Avoid this place at all costs.

    Our waitress Farrah was AMAZING!! Extremely sweet and knowledgeable person. Farrah was also very welcoming and offered additional recommendations based on the information we provided based on our food taste.
