What Insiders Are Saying
More comfortable than a MINI Cooper, Beatrix is a casual and versatile restaurant in River North.
The juice is amazing and the menu has something for everyone. Very unique and flavorful offerings. Great service.
Celebrated my friend’s birthday. We both absolutely LOVED it! The food, cocktails, and dessert were all amazing!! The ambiance was great and noise level was perfect for catching up. Will definitely come back again very soon!
The food is exceptional and the ambiance is perfect for a small group or larger party. Staff is very attentive. This was my first introduction to their Bloody Mary's - yum! Have been here several times for pre-Bears game breakfast, but this was our 1st pre-Bears game dinner - and it did not disappoint.
Always love the breakfast here! Maple sugar bacon is the item to have! Great service and always a great meal.
The waitress was terrific but the kitchen somehow sent the 6 entrees out with the appetizers.
Food was not hot at all.
Service was slow and the food was ok. We probably won't go back again.
I was going to be in the River North neighborhood & made 1:30 lunch reservations online based on location & positive reviews. It was a Saturday during the Christmas holidays & the restaurant was packed, noisy & rushed. It felt greasy & dirty. Not sure why I needed reservations as this place looked like a walk in type restaurant. Apparently they offered a brunch. Most of the menu choices were egg dishes or sandwiches. I ordered the tuna poke. It was good, not fabulous. Service was OK. It was crowded & the wait staff really had no time for anything other than taking a quick order & leaving the bill. I overheard a conversation that Beatrix was going to open in the OakBrook area & that’s just what this place reminded me of, chain like.
Love this place! The food is really good, and staff is so friendly. Definitely child-friendly and great for brunch.
I've been to Beatrix before and it has generally been good and a decent value. However
this time our waiter was awful. Inattentive, poor communicator, we always had to flag
him down or ask someone to get him (for our order, for our food, for water, for our check etc etc).
We were also very disappointed that at 6 pm on a Friday evening the restaurant was already out of the
one thing we had come to the restaurant to have - chicken meatballs.
The food and drinks at Beatrix, as always, were wonderful. The service at this location, as well as the one in Fulton Market, can definitely be improved, however. Our server was lovely and got everything right but it took her a very long time to take our initial order and then return with our drinks-she appeared to have too many tables. Also, our it was very crowded and our table was crammed right in the middle of the dining room. It was difficult to get out from the table when using the bathroom and made me feel quite claustrophobic. Thanks.
I enjoyed the ricotta ravioli with butternut squash. The server was attentive and the restaurant was quite pleasant
The food is a very high-quality and creative combinations
Always a favorite. Casual upscale atmosphere with great food and great service. Kung pao Brussel sprouts are the bomb!! I’m vegetarian and the Boyfriend swears by the pot roast sandwich, one of the few places with so many options for both of us. Have brought many friends and family and everyone loves it every time.
I am usually a huge fan of Beatrix, but unfortunately, yesterday's visit was sub-par. The brussels sprouts were overcooked and mushy, my soup was over-seasoned (the person delivering also didn't bring me a spoon and I had to get up to grab someone to get me one), and our server asked if we wanted protein on a salad...when it came, it had the protein requested (steak) as well as chicken. I was disappointed and am not enthused to go back.
I've been to Beatrix at least 30 times because it's so close to work. Whether bringing a new hire, having a team lunch or entertaining a client - I've never been disappointed!
Love coming to Beatrix, but a little disappointed in this visit. I called ahead for a cake to be brought out as part of my friends engagement and verified the cake 3 times and that I wanted the entire cake. They confirmed day of so I felt good about it. When it came time to bring the surprise cake out the guy asked us what flavor( kind of spoiling the surprise and I pre- ordered a specific one so I thought the question was odd) and then he brought out one slice and three plates for 4 of us to share..? I asked him about the entire cake I pre-ordered and he said “ oh, let me check” and walked away and didn’t come back until it was time for the bill( 25 Mins Ish) and then I believe remembered the cake and had it bagged for us so we never got to surprise her with the entire cake, had to share one piece, and finally got it in a doggy bag. Not my favorite. I’ll come back bc I like this place but that was a real disappointment for a 50$ cake surprise.
Their drinks are so unique! The Boozy breakfast drinks are delicious, especially the Banana Mocha drink. On Sundays for brunch there is a Family Meal option that is self serve and unlimited for a great price. It's not a buffet, rather a make your own entree.
Beatrix was very nice, very LEYE-
The food (coffee too-) was terrific, I had green chile enchiladas (egg enchiladas in green sauce) and wifey had lemon pancakes. The room is very nice, comfortable though still busy and it can be loud inside. Our server was average, preferring to look more than to act, no OK in a busy environment. LEYE's are always expensive, it's not IHOP- but it's a nice treat and the people watching is great-
They also have a bakery section and fresh juices and it all works well.
Worth a visit from anywhere. Great spot and lots of choices.
Great service and great food.
I had looked at the lunch menu and already knew what I wanted, only to discover they only provide a brunch menu on the weekends. This was for the best because my friend and I both ordered and loved the Cauliflower Grits & Eggs with crispy brussels sprouts, parmesan
Very pleasant dining experience as the food & service were excellent
Meal was delicious!
Beautiful restaurant and food was decent. Nothing extremely exceptional. Restaurant decor was very well done
Seating could be more comfortable and spacious between tables. There was no where to put coats and purses.
Great spot for a quick healthy brunch. Sat right by the fireplace and felt very cozy!
This was a very good meal and the server was very discreet and let us enjoy our girks brunch with no pressure
First time for both of us. Quinn was an excellent server. Answered all our questions with enthusiasm. Very knowledgeable about each dish. Recommend the beet salad. Chicken Bebe with a side of horseradish mashed potatoes was excellent. Ravioli served with squash pieces and 3 cheeses was spectacular. Carmel pie is big enough for two and worth the decadence. Valet at attached Aloft hotel is convenient and discounted when validated by server.
Amazing service nice foods!
Great restaurant with unique food combinations. we started with the fries and brussell sprout entries.
Lemon pancakes are soooooo light and divine! Service was wonderful. Had a really great brunch!
A great selection of tasty, healthy food options. A good drink selection too.
Had a great time with family. Awesome atmosphere and great food and drink.
fabulous! food and service are perfect.
Always enjoy Beatrix.
Did not get our dessert for some reason. All else good
Excellent service and food!
Delish food, good atmosphere would come here again for a hearty brunch
Our server Spencer was excellent and we love the creative choices for breakfast. We had the steak and eggs and the quinoa cakes with poached eggs. They also have an amazing bakery! We loved our meal and would definitely go back. Would love to try dinner there as well.
