About Beast and Bottle

beast + bottle is a rustic American restaurant serving craft dinner and brunch.

Run by siblings Paul C. Reilly, who mans the burners, and Aileen Reilly, who oversees front of house, beast + bottle is located in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood.

The “beast” refers to the restaurant’s appreciation for the whole animal, utilizing all parts to honor its integrity. The owners’ relationships with farmers, ranchers and purveyors bring ethically and humanely raised, responsibly harvested and organic (whenever possible) ingredients to the table.

The “bottle” refers to drinks. b+b’s wine program is influenced by the European tradition of drinking wine how you’d like – whether that’s a glass or by the liter.

The menu changes whenever the kitchen pleases based on what’s in-season and what the cooks are enjoying at the moment. What remains constant is a steady focus on sustainability and versatility of ingredients.

The people at this restaurant were hands down amazing, and the ambiance was sublime. We were seated immediately and great attention was made to accommodate our evening plans.

Unfortunately, the food was lacking and we left disappointed in what we paid for. We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes, they were perfectly fried, but the sauce that was mixed with the kale was extremely salty (to the point that it was almost inedible). I thought to myself, maybe someone made a mistake, and mixed up the salt with another seasoning and I let it slide. Then I had the lamb and my husband had the steak, and although they were better, they too were over salted.

Otherwise, it was a great experience, and the wine recommendations were spot on.

Great interesting brunch options. Kids meals were lacking, and breakfast doesn’t include toast. However, all the food was great and the service was excellent.

We have always loved Beast and Bottle, but our experience this time really fell short. The tortellini was very small (3 pieces of pasta) and the tortellini was dry. The sauce was very vinegary as well. The truffle risotto had no hint of truffle in it and was not flavorful, unfortunately. Service was fine, but it was hard to figure out who our server was since we had multiple staff helping us throughout the night. We were disappointed with our meal and it made us question whether we will return for dinner anytime soon.

We didn't end up eating there so I can't rate the food. My husband dropped me off so I can get seated while he went to find parking. He came back 15 minutes later and told the manager (?) he was having trouble finding parking and did he have any suggestions about where he might park. His reply was, "How is that my problem?" We left immediately and will not go back.

The restaurant was very attractive inside. Farm house kitchen look. Service was excellent.
Food was OK. It was delivered lukewarm, not hot how I would prefer. Wine was excellent.
I would recommend to a friend, especially if they were really into farm-to-table meals.

Very small portions, to many extra charges for things like syrup, waiter seemed disinterested and bored with us. Typical Denver pretentious restaurant.

The tables are very close together, we had servers backsides in our table space the entire meal as they waited on the table beside us. It felt very cramped. Food was good but the lack of space and constant intrusion really took away from the experience. Unless you have a booth I would not suggest going.

I liked Beast and Bottle. My husband was a little less impressed. The food options were good, but I don't eat meat (we had a gift card, I *know* it's called 'Beast' and Bottle) so I didn't have as many options to choose from. The service was excellent, though, which I really appreciated. I also liked the wine list. There are other places in Denver that have a bit more flexibility and more food options for people with dietary restrictions at the same price point that I think we'd return to first, but in all, I had a good experience.

We were seated at a table in the aisle I asked for be seated a another empty table and was told it was saved for some one else. Apparently the open table reservation was not as good as some other reservation. We were the only table in the aisle. It felt rushed and like we were in the way of the staff.

As usual the food is wonderful (top notch), but the service (we think they forgot about our order and had to ask for refills a few times) and amazingly loud music will deter us from coming back soon.

We’ve been here a number of times and if you are looking for a place to celebrate something in style, this is the place! The food is amazing, as always! The service is just as amazing!
We started off with a Birthday toast when to my surprise a round of sparkling wine was served for our toast, wonderful!!!
While the menu is small, that only shows how much care they put in each dish! The portion size, I thought to be small at first, is the perfect size to satisfy your hunger and leave you wanting more! The lamb lag was cooked and prepared perfectly. Thank you again for helping to make this night so special!

The chef’s course didn’t disappoint as the food was excellent and the wine pairings went well. Additionally, it was my wifes birthday and all the staff we talked with (around 6 people) congratulated her. That was impressive. We will be back.

The food was very good as always. I don't think the wine portions need to be so complicated. Why do we have to ask what a "pot" is, etc. just state the ounces. Sometimes being too clever is annoying. We'll definitely return. The food is thoughtful and creative. It's a rare find.

Lovely restaurant with excellent food. We went for a birthday brunch, and got seated in the corner in a very comfy booth, but were directly beneath the speaker. Our waitress was able to turn down the music enough so we could carry on a conversation. The mixed drinks were terrific! The baked goods were great, and I strongly recommend sharing the pastry basket. The greens on my salad were unusually fresh, large, and yummy, and my salad was not drowned in dressing (a pet peeve of mine). We were not rushed out to accommodate another seating. All in all a very fine place for a leisurely Sunday brunch.

My daughter and I had brunch on a Saturday. We shared the special which was sliced brown sugar pork belly served over pumpkin mash with pepitas and an herbed gravy as well as the pastry basket. The special was absolutely delicious! The selection of pastries was a lemon poppy seed bread, rosemary and gouda biscuit and a pistachio scone. All were perfectly prepared but, let me just say, the rosemary gouda biscuit was mind blowing!
