Beast and Bottle
Run by siblings Paul C. Reilly, who mans the burners, and Aileen Reilly, who oversees front of house, beast + bottle is located in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood.
The “beast” refers to the restaurant’s appreciation for the whole animal, utilizing all parts to honor its integrity. The owners’ relationships with farmers, ranchers and purveyors bring ethically and humanely raised, responsibly harvested and organic (whenever possible) ingredients to the table.
The “bottle” refers to drinks. b+b’s wine program is influenced by the European tradition of drinking wine how you’d like – whether that’s a glass or by the liter.
The menu changes whenever the kitchen pleases based on what’s in-season and what the cooks are enjoying at the moment. What remains constant is a steady focus on sustainability and versatility of ingredients.
What Insiders Are Saying
We like Beast + Bottle best for brunch, but know that this is a serious restaurant, and a good option for every meal of the day.
Small venue that feels cozy. It was a perfect day for the patio. Happy hour is an amazing deal. We ordered the 2 lamb pasta dishes and they were both amazing. Great farm to table restaurant!
Rad. Love this place.
Casey did a nice job as our server. The manager gave us a dessert and two glasses of bubbly as an anniversary gift. Sweet.
Great food, great service. We will be back!
Best brunch in Denver. For me, the best part was that it was “right sized”. Didn’t feel like we had to split a meal because they were so ginormous. One egg with all that came with it was perfect.
Great cappuccino too!
Nice patio but we were inside.
Everything for brunch is unique and delicious! always a great experience
We were really disappointed in Beast & Bottle’s new menu. We have been eating there for several years and have always enjoyed it very much. They seem to think the public really enjoys lamb because there were five lamb entrees on the menu and other dishes with lamb in them. There were only three entrees without lamb. When the server was asked about this he told us this is the way the menus have always been. Apparently he was relatively new because such is not the case. He also just let us sit. At one point I almost called him over, but I would have interrupted his visit with the other staff. It is too bad to see a place like this go downhill.
My favorite restaurant in the country!
Very slow dining experience. Ordered our appetizer to arrive with our meal and still had the food deliver at a slower pace then people who arrived at the same time and ordered an appetizer & meal.
Fish on the blackened fish sandwich is a much smaller portion the man the bun it is served on. Shoestring fries were over cooked.
Good spot to grab a bite and a drink. The cocktails were amazing!
The food quality and service were top notch. The entree portions are on the small side and I still felt hunger after dinner. $6 for a cup of americano coffee seems excessive.
One of my favorite Denver restaurants, Beast + Bottle is consistently good, fun and innovative. Service is top notch, offering excellent descriptions and recommendations. I took a prospective client to dinner and it was the perfect blend of great food in a relaxed environment. Go to Beast + Bottle. Try something new. Engage with the staff. You'll be very happy you did!
by far this restaurant continues to amaze us! The lamb sausage was outstanding. The asparagus with the sweet potato puree was out-of-this-world! The service was incredible. Nathan is an amazing Ambassador for the restaurant. He is so well-versed in the food choices and helped us make some really tough decisions on what to order :-) this is a true tresure for Denver and not to be missed experience. We have told all of our footy friends about this restaurant and we will continue returning every single time that we are back.
We had a wonderful meal and evening. Great wine list. Fantastic cocktails.
We went to Beast and Bottle for Mother's Day brunch + really enjoyed everything. The ambiance is nice + the food was delicious - we really appreciated how local everything was + the credit given to local farmers. We look forward to coming back for dinner in the near future!
Creative and well prepared food with excellent service.
We've eaten at Beast & Bottle many times and were slightly disappointed in our recent trip. The food was delicious, but the portions barely passed for entrees and the execution was a little off this time.
I came into Denver to surprise a friend and had to pick a spot for dinner without his knowledge. I looked up many many places online and ultimately decided on Beast and Bottle. We were NOT disappointed! The food was incredible, the wine was great and our servers were unmatched! I would absolutely recommend it to anyone traveling into or living in the Denver area!
We had an excellent time at Beast + Bottle. Our group of 4 ordered a few appetizers to share, and each tried each others' entrees, and I swear that every bite was better than the last. Some of the standouts were the parpardelle pasta as well as the veal osso bucco. The drinks were also imaginative, fun and super tasty. We're already ready to go back.
All of our food was cold and undercooked. I used to love this place but it has changed. Absolutely awful. I almost never write reviews but my experience here was truly horrible. I do not recommend this place - worst brunch experience I have ever had.
My husband and I had dinner here before a show at the Ogden. It was a great experience, the staff were nice and welcoming. The main protein for this restaurant is lamb which if not done right can taste frightful. It is evident that the chefs know what they are doing, one bite and your are happy. The pistachio pie we had for dessert was well balanced, each piece had enough sweetness to enjoy but not over power. We'll definitely return for future meals.
This was my first time visiting Beast + Bottle and I was completely blown away. Everything was so well-done, from the warm welcome as we entered to the excellent execution on food and drinks. I cannot speak more highly about our fantastic experience here. Huge thank you to Chef Paul and Kenny who made sure we were well taken care of. I can't wait to come back soon!
I have had dinner at B and B on three separate occasions and both have been very average. The first I had to send my entrée back due to the "tough" texture of the meat. They replaced it with a better cut of meat.
The second time was for brunch three months ago and the brunch was excellent, service was excellent and I would return again for brunch.
The third time, this week, the food was good but the menu is limited. The wines by the glass were less than satisfactory.
Had a lovely, leisurely brunch on the patio with two friends at Beast + Bottle this weekend. The quality of the food and cocktails here is simply outstanding! We lingered for over 2 hours at our table, and the wait staff could not have been nicer to us. I highly recommend a visit to this little gem of a restaurant!
Awesome for a date night. Great food, great drinks. Cannot complain, will be back again and again, and I have!
This old gem has lost its shine - not what it used to be. The service staff seemed to have given up while the back of the house seems to be making some effort.
Fingers crossed that they will put their all into getting this place back to what it once was.
Went for a birthday dinner. Wonderful reception and service throughout!
Excellent cocktails and delicious brunch options. The prices were a little steep, but the quality of the ingredients was well above par.
The appetizer + main course were amazing. Wine was over priced - $17.00 for one glass of wine, the purchase price of the bottle of wine in store was only $32.00. The price of the whiskey per glass was high as well $45.00 when the bottle only cost $60.00. Prices for drinks should be reevaluated on the menu. Desert was a disappointment as well. The Kentucky butter cake had too many flavors trying to compete - orange marmalade was over powering along with the other seasonings on the cake + the cake was dry. I also ordered the ice cream and it had freezer burn on it + the portion size didn't even amount to a single scoop As for the service - I felt like we were being rushed when I had mad reservations. The server greeted us and put in our order for the appetizer and advised very strongly that we order our main course right at that moment because he wanted to time the orders. Felt like this was rude on his part. Overall the actual food minus the desert was great. But for the above reasons, I can only rate Beast and Bottle as 3 starts.
My experience was wonderful! The food tasted delicious and the service was great! Our waiter did a great job ensuring that we had everything we wanted and very patience and helpful.
Amazing food! Great service, can't wait to go back and try their dinner menu.
I was disappoj
The pappardelle with lamb and ragu was very good, however not for the price point. There was one salad choice and it was over saturated with dressing and not that good. The gnocchi wasn’t as good as one hopes based on the menu and ratings. Overall it just didn’t live up to the high expectations.
Recent changes to the menu greatly reduced the portion size of some once amazing dishes. The slight adjustment in price that corresponds with these changes does not bring value.. Essentially, you need two main dishes to equal what once was a perfectly delightful meal..
We had a wonderful, well paced, romantic date here. We will definitely be back.
The waiter (Nathaniel) was great and made wonderful wine and dessert recommendations. I wish I’d asked him before ordering appetizers and the main. Those were all amateurish - which is disappointing because the venue itself is fantastic and the concept was strong. Stay away from the citrus salad and the grilled octopus.
We were in Denver on vacation and I saw this how well rated this restaurant was. Well, the rating don't lie! The food was excellent and the service was great. I had the paparadelle with lamb ragu and it was DIVINE. If you're in Denver, you definitely need to go here (or to their sister restaurant Coperta - we went there and it was equally tasty).
Make sure you reserve a table, as the inside is fairly small.
Great dinner! We had a show to catch, so we didn't get to stay and enjoy as leisurely a dinner as I would have liked, but dinner was great and the staff was extremely responsive when we told them we didn't have much time. The octopus dish was so, so good. Hope to go back soon!
