Beano's Cabin Ratings and Reviews
First off, be prepared for a 5 course meal whether you want it or not. The food was excellent, but don't go unless you're hungry for all 5 courses + bring a wad o' cash. I guess we should have checked it out more, but I never thought about it. Our waiter, Matt, was kind of uppity when we tried to figure out a work-around for not spending $100 each for both of our kids who had eaten previously (they're both really picky eaters & they eat in advance when we don't know if they have kids' options). I'm more of a meat-n-taters kind of average Joe, so the whole meal was a waste on my blue collar palate. We took the horse ride up to the restaurant which was totally cool, but also cost $160 for 60 minutes. Throw in 2 full meals, a couple of drinks, tip, the snooty waiter's attitude & the horse ride...$500. Maybe that's chump change to the big rollers of Vail, but not for the common man from MN.
Lamb was gristly. Rest of courses nothing special. Horseback ride conflicting instruction on time to show up. 445 or 430? Horseback welcome area was a shoddy tent with old dirty helmets being offered. No regard for treating the riders the same as diners would be welcomed upstairs. First impressions are the most important.
Service outstanding with Leslie/Bret.
Tourist trap really. There are many better dining options nearby. This was our second try with no plans to repeat.
The cuisine was superb (even better that the previous chef, whom also was excellent). The music from the singer/guitarist (I believe his first name was Roy) was fabulous. The horseback ride to the cabin was a lot of fun (our guide was a young lady named Orion). All in all, a magical evening.
Beanos was as good as everyone says it is. The food was excellent, service was prompt without hovering but the real reason you pay this much for a meal is the ambiance and they have it in abundance. If you have the chance and if your budget can stand it...try it.
I have known about this place for a long time since my parents have been going for 15 years there while visiting Beaver Creek. They have a creative menu and the food and service are very good. However, I cannot understand why they raised the price from $85/person to $107/person and a drink is not included. Yes it is an experience to go once, but that is all I will do. I prefer simpler food, but if you are a gourmet food guru and want to spend a lot on food and drink, then you will love it.
Beano's Cabin is unlike any other place. The food is exceptional and unique and absolutely delicious!! The people and service are outstanding, so kind and accommodating they complete the experience. It's hard to describe just how amazing and magical a dinner at Beano's can be, you'll just have to find out for yourself. You won't regret it!
Yes, it is pricey, but absolutely worth it. The service was attentive but not intrusive and the staff was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu, food and wine both. Matt made several suggestions, which we followed, and he was dead on target on each one. Eric is probably the best sommelier I have ever met. His depth of knowledge about the wines and the history of them was amazing. His first recommendation was not the most expensive on the list which is rare and impressive. We settled on a more expensive wine that complimented the meal perfectly and made a special occasion even more special. The final touch was the hostess walking us out and wishing us a happy anniversary. Amazing. Thanks to everyone at Beano's for another memorable evening.
Beano's seems more about the experience than the food. On the mountainside in Beaver Creek, the setting is beautiful although not for it's vistas. A 5 course meal for all, the choices were varied to suit any palate. Opened with good gazpacho and a nice peaches and cream salad. We had crab cake appetizer-excellent- and wild mushroom ravioli - acceptable. The lamb entree was very good, cooked to order and tender. The eggplant entree was so-so. Desserts not particularly notable. Service was excellent as was the wine list.
Absolutely outstanding. Knowledgeable staff, perfect mountain ambiance, impeccably prepared dishes. Not a cheap place but you shouldn't go here expecting a bargain. 5 courses, plenty of choices on 3 of those. Would definitely go again!
The view of Beaver Creek mountain is outstanding, as were our servers Brad F. and Kelly. They were incredibly nice and knowledgeable of the menu. Brad's wine recommendation was also excellent. We truly enjoyed our evening here--including the food!
Very expensive but an awesome experience. The wildlife, amazing views, and ambience make trying Beano's cabin for a special occasion worth doing once. The food was fine. Pork belly appetizer and peach dessert was awesome but the other courses were just okay. If you are going here expecting the best food you've ever had then save your money. It's really all about the experience as a whole which makes it worth the price.
Our family has been going to Beano's every year for more than 25 years ... it's a tradition. But in the last 3 years we have found the dining experience to be less than our family gathering experience of the past. The food is less in quality, the service is less attentive and friendly, the considerations for food allergies (dairy) less than what it used to be. Bottom line, we love the Beano's atmosphere and want to keep the tradition going, but with so many other great dining choices in the Beaver Creek / Vail Valley it's getting hard to remain excited about our Beano's' gatherings. It's difficult to say and admit ...
Beanos is a fabulous little resaurant located on a very picturesque mountain. Great views and relaxing live music complimented a night filled with fantastic food and great service. Bianca and Micheal were very friendly and knowledgable. They had many great recomendations for both food and wines to pair with the dishes.
The seasonal salad was a delightful combination of greens with a nicley balanced balsamic dressing, perfectly ripe peaches and plate scraping worthy vanilla mascapone. The selection of appetizers was amazing, sticking out for me was a crab cake served warm over a chilled corn salsa with tomato jam and a buerre blanc. The pork belly appetizer was also a favorite, tender with a nice sweetness from the glaze.
The coffee rubbed smoked venison was a wonderful suggestion by Bianca. Grilled to a perfect rare, I went chefs choice, the meat was tender, slightly sweet with that perfect hint of smoke to balance the more gamey nature of the venison. It was served with parsnips two ways, arugula, and carrots. The Pinot Noir that Micheal poured was a perfect match. I also got to try the salmon and halibut entrees and again I wasn't disappointed. The salmon had that perfect touch of smoke to the pan seared fish that simply melted in my mouth. The halibut was another jaw dropping delight. Smooth and rich, served with sauteed asparagus, potatoes, and tomatoes, for a great filling bright summer dish.
As for dessert the only problem is deciding what to get. The chocolate mousse is perfect if you are looking for rich and decadent. It has the perfect touch of dark chocolate to the fluffly smooth mousse hidden beneath. If something lighter is what you seek the rhubarb tart with strawberry salsa or peach triffle is the way to go. The hints of cinnamon and spice to the peaches blend nicley with the smooth rich cream.
The entire evening was fantastic, from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left. Compliments to the entire Beanos staff.
What a great night at Beano's! The sleigh ride was good fun, and a great way to make a lasting memory. Service was warm, helpful, and experienced. The five course menu offered something for everyone's taste, but also lended opportunity for a few "first-time-ingredients" to some in our party. It was the best Pork belly i have ever had but the Venison was also outstanding! We enlisted the insight of the sommelier, and very much enjoyed the wines he guided us to. We will make this part of our Beaver Creek tradition!!!
We go to Beano's twice a year. We are biased as we had our wedding reception here but we did the wedding here because we love it. Food is always great. Tonight was 5 course. We had both salads. Fresh and local ingredients. Very good. Neither of us cared for the soup, spicy butternut squash. Too peppery but still bland. Only soup we haven't cared for at Beano's. Appetizers great- tuna poke, bison sausage and pork belly. Prepared perfectly.
Dinner - venison tenderloin - red deer from Australia. Was really good not gamey. Delicious.
Pork porterhouse - get it every time.
Saw a good looking walleye pike at next table.
Server - art. So personable and engaging. Whole staff was good.
A wonderful experience. After a lovely sleigh ride, we were welcomed with cozy slippers to change into. The restaurant decor is spectacular! And the live music was terrific!
The meal was very enjoyable and the food was very good! The star studded sky on the sleigh ride back was amazing!
Do miss the chance to dine here! It makes for a great evening out!
A mixed experience.Started off with snowcat host spilling his hot chocolate on my jacket, then had no waiter/waitress for 10 minutes. Then Waitress took cocktail order only to return several minutes later saying she forgot what we wanted. Still didn't write it down. So when the drinks arrived, two of three were wrong but she wanted to argue that they were right. Brad, the Sommelier, stepped in to make things right. The rest of the meal went well except two lamb entrees were over cooked. Brad and a new Waiter, Steve, saved the Birthday Celebration however. BTW, apparently, the Snowcat guy, Keegan, knew he had spilled his hot chocolate on my coat but figured in the darkness I wouldn't notice. However, as you might expect, the heat, the liquid and the smell over came the darkness.Unbelievable!
The beautiful trip back with the stars may have been the best part of the experience, along with the great ambiance (slippers, live music w/ requests, open kitchen and great service). I was a little disappointed with the food (it was very tasty but I was hoping for a little better than what I had - maybe I just ordered the wrong thing). Overall though would recommend someone to experience it at least once - if it's within budget. I wouldn't lose sleep over not going though.
