Beacon Hill Bistro
Great accommodation for diners with allergies. They checked every dish we ordered and informed us of possible cross-contamination. Excellent service experience
Beacon Hill Bistro is consistently good with delicious food. Always great.
We waited way too long for our food. The waiter come over to our table numerous times apologising to us. When it did arrive, it was not hot and mediocre at best. We often come here on our stay's in Boston to see your daughter in college but won't be coming back. And after all that, the waiter took nothing off our bill. Just another apology (about the 5th one). Really disappointing.
Way too noisy and tables too close together. The steak frite was predictably good. The salmon was below par.
First class service; sat at end of restaurant so noise was only moderately bothersome
Great place for dinner in Boston central ovation nice atmosphere
This used to be a really lovely neighborhood place with elegant california and french influenced chefy food. It now has large portions of greasy ill-conceived and poorly prepared food and we won’t return till they mend their ways
My favorite lunch spot on Charles Street. Have been here many times. Always ample servings and friendly staff.
The atmosphere is that of a French bistro ... classy and delicious. Highly recommended for parties of
1 or 2 couples ... 3 couples at most. For larger groups, much of the intimate charm of this bistro would be lost.
Service was great. Nice and quiet. Food good.
The salads looked good. The Cobb was huge! I just did not care for my crab cake. It had a funny aftertaste.
We've been to the Beacon Hill Bistro a number of times over the years. I love the elegant, but lower key atmosphere. Service is usually excellent. My only critique is that the food is not as good as years past, at least in terms of overall consistency. For instance, my spouse ordered swordfish medium rare, and it arrived well-done. The streak-frites cut was fairly grisly with fat. But the fries were excellent! And, the creme brûlée was in a very large dish and about a millimeter thick (joking). It's almost as if the chef is more focused on bar food.
It has always been pretty loud at the Bistro , but not quite as a bad as other places Ive eaten . Please take service . Food just missed this time
Great little Bistro in the heart of Boston’s Beacon Hill Bay Bay!
Excellent spot all the way around. Food was delicious. Our server gets a 4 star for seeming like he didn’t really like his job, never a smile, he seemed like he did not want to be there. His service was good despite this.
Amazing Brunch!! Brioche French toast with blueberry butter was the highlight- Banana pancakes & BLT with herb butter and an egg was pretty good too - Will visit again!
My husband and I went to Beacon Hill Bistro for a Saturday dinner. (I had googled "quiet restaurant" in the neighborhood, and BHB was one restaurant that popped up.) The food was very good indeed, and the service was good.
As to the noise, we were seated at the far end of the restaurant, which is an awkwardly long and narrow room, and the noise level there was moderate. At the other end of the room, it was clearly louder.
Went on a Saturday evening. Frankly, we should not have stayed. The tables are very close together. There were two tables with young kids and the ambiance was more like a Chucky Cheese than a French bistro. No place to escape. I have kids and love kids. But not where I want to have a quiet dinner with my wife.
Service was okay. Food was very good.
We had high hopes, dining here for dinner on the recommendation of a friend. But the food was terrible! The crab cake was small for the price, and was not fresh, and had a very fishy taste. The fried haddock sandwich as well as fish & chips were overcooked. The french fries were burnt and greasy, seemed to have been cooked earlier and reheated in a microwave. The roasted brussel sprouts were bitter, half raw yet burnt on the top. The falafel was overcooked and dry, black in spots. They were bewildered by my request for some yogurt sauce. I told the waitress that it was inedible, but was charged anyway instead of the dish being returned to the kitchen.
Gustavo our server was, as always, pleasant, caring, and knowledgeable.
Great location in beacon hill. Nice room and food was good. Service was not attentive.
Great food consistently. One of my favorite places in Boston!
Early dinner with a friend. Food was very good. ( mussels were excellent). Great service
My first time going to this restaurant and I enjoyed it. The restaurant has a small boutique like of feel which fits the theme of beacon hill Hotel and Beacon hill location in Boston. Their House Gazpacho and Strawberry shortcake is delicious, and I can see myself going back just to try those meals again. Great place to chill or for a night out on a date. I would definitely recommend.
French toast with blueberry butter was so tasty! As was egg dish. Service was good not Necessarily great. I would go again if asked but not a staple.
Excellent wait staff. Good food. Refectory-like atmosphere.
Very good food and attentive kind service - good ambience
I've never had a negative experience at Beacon Hill Bistro and will happily recommend it.
We really enjoyed everything! Beautiful space and good food. Service was on point. We gave it 4 stars because everything met our expectations, but there wasn't anything exceptional about the overall experience.
Service was very good, food excellent and ambiance was quiet! We will go back.
Great food. A step up from the usual neighborhood place. Great and varied menu. Never disappoints.
The Beacon Hill Bistro is a great neighborhood restaurant. Convenient, great food and service, nice ambiance.
We were there for brunch with my family. Very attentive and adapted to our preferences for each dish. Would go again for brunch or dinner.
Great food and great service. Best chicken and waffles in the northeast.
Good but not a great brunch
Didn't care for the menu, or what we ordered. After years of being regulars at BHB, we won't be back. Too bad to have lost this neighborhood go-to.
Girls weekend brunch!
Good room, pleasant greeting, but from there the food disappoints.
Flatbread is burnt, tomato sauce uninspired; pasta is overcooked; and the pricing s too high for what it is. Menu needs a rethink.
