Interesting brunch options (not just standard eggs and pancakes), relaxed bistro atmosphere, good service. A winner!
Great food nice people and comfortable seating
We had a wonderful experience. Amazing food, delicious cocktails, and top-notch service from the second we walked in the door!
A random find that ended up being great! We were very happy with our brunch meals. It's a great value.
Went there for breakfast two days in a row because the food was so good and atmosphere was delightful. Not to mention, great service and feels like a neighborhood gem. Thanks to Gustavo for taking such good care of us. We stayed at a hotel down the road but next time will stay at Beacon Hill Hotel.
We liked Beacon Hill Bistro for its candle-glowing atmosphere on a wintry evening, coupled with classic bistro food that was well-prepared. The coq au vin, brick flattened chicken, and lobster tagliatelle were excellent. We especially loved the platter of cheeses as a starter which was called "Three Spreads" although we didn't see any spreads. Maybe we received the wrong order? At any rate, it was a large platter with 3 different cheeses, lots of breads, quince paste, honey, and other good things. This isn't a hip spot - instead, go here for a dining room that is perfectly at home in its Beacon Hill location, solidly good food, and quiet conversation.
A little bit too noisy but food was so great! Excellent food!
Love this spot. Come often. Wait staff and service folks are very nice and attentive: Julia, Hector and Gustavo, to name a few.
We have been to this restaurant four or five times over the past year and I always enjoy it so much. The decor is elegant. The service is a nice balance of attentive and not over assertive. The food is always lovely with an elegant presentation that is balanced, again not overly precious. I have loved every dish I have ordered as has my husband. You are greeted in an open smiling manner. On Charles Street this is one of my favorites!!
The Beacon Hill bistro provides an elegant experience for breakfast and or dinner in lovely Charles St in Beacon Hill. Try it soon
The Beacon Hill bistro is reliably good. Food was great and it’s abience is relaxed. Great at any time.
Great dining experience and wonderful bartender, highly recommend.
Great food, service is very on-point, nice quiet atmosphere.
Disappointing, service very slow, food mediocre, fish sandwich was fishy, steak was very chewy in the steak noodle salad, caeser salad was nothing special, we did not stay for dessert. This could be so much better, the menu is nice for a casual dinner, the execution misses on many fronts.
Maybe they were under staffed, but the service needs help, we sat down and did not get waited in for 15 minutes and we sat in front!
My girlfriend and I felt to comfortable with delicious drinks and food! Our server was awesome! A very cozy restaurant ... excellent service from everyone on staff!
Delicious and the service was amazing. Really enjoyed our Lunch! Great flavor and unique flavor pairings and really worked. Drinks were also fantastic!
A lovely way to spend our New Year's Eve anniversary. We usually just stop by for a drink, but decided to try dinner this time. The prix fixe menu offered several choices, and our selections were all wonderful. Great service also, something we have experienced every time.
Really a great place for dinner, and one of us has had several great lunches there as well!
One of the best meals we have had in a long time! Amazing service and lovely atmosphere!
It was a bitterly cold night -I'm almost sure most cancelled their reservations- but the staff was terrific as it would be any other night. They were gracious and let us stay past closing (we were unaware of closing time) to catch up with an old friend. The food was excellent and the wine list incredible. Wonderful place.
I took my special needs daughter with me to the BHB for a late lunch. The service was fantastic with great recommendations. We loved the Meatball appetizer which was perfect for two. Food was great service was even better.
Dissappointing...Christmas Eve..reservations at7pm seated at 7p m..waited for 10 for server ...first course; wrong soup served....still waiting for our main course at 8:30! No explanation given. When we asked waitress said " kitchen problem" We have been to this restaurant 4 Christmas Eve dinners ...likely will look for another place for our most special celebration
Nice menu options, attentive but not intrusive service, excellent value. Can make a meal out of two appetizers. Burger is terrific. Local, not tourist, crowd.
Great food and nice atmosphere, but felt the service could have been a little more attentive. It took about 25-30 minutes after sitting to get our first drinks and we didn’t place our food orders for some time after that. I know I would have at least ordered one more drink and anther plate of food if the server came around a littler more frequently. It didn’t help that our dining neighbors came in 15 minutes after us and received both their drinks and multiple plates of food before us.
I love the BHB and have gone there for years. This was the first time the experience was not perfect. The server was the issue. I will not let his one-off affect future visits.
The Beacon Hill Bistro is my number one pick for dinner or lunch with my girlfriends.
The ambiance is wonderful, with great lighting. The views of Charles St. out the windows is magical, especially at Christmastime. I will be there twice this week! Convenient to the Green Line and Red Line.
A neighborhood gem that has excellent quality delicious food for everyone!
One of my favorite spots in Beacon Hill! Great for a date or a meeting with friends.
I would highly recommend the French Onion Soup!
One of our neighborhood go-tos, just as good for a casual lunch or bruch as it is a more celebratory dinner. Quality had fallen off in recent years -- for a long time, it felt as if the Bistro didn't know what it wanted to be. But new ownership of the hotel and new leadership the in the kitchen from Chef Tim have turned the place around again, and the menus feature solid, comforting New American fare, as well as an interesting wine list, at a solid value. We ate there twice for brunch and breakfast this weekend, as a matter of fact, as we had company in town and the rest of the midday offerings in Beacon Hill skew toward the uncreative -- and the higher-priced. Choose breakfast or brunch here over the Paramount or 75 Chestnut any day of the week.
Excellent service. A smallish menu, but there was something for everyone. Inventive cocktails. Excellent quality proteins and vegetables. Cozy atmosphere. Quiet enough to hold a conversation without straining to be heard. A good amount of space between tables. Plating of food was visually pleasing and food was creative and perfectly cooked.
Our server, Emily, made this night special. She was attentive and knowledgeable, anticipating our needs a few seconds before they occurred to us. She enthusiastically encouraged all of our desires and seemed genuinely happy to spend time with us. The food was excellent, but not particularly special. It's a good restaurant for those who want pretty close to standard fare.
Staff was friendly. Service good. Food delicious. Unfortunately we could not have a conversation across the table due to the noise level.
Thanks for a lovely date night...food was delicious, especially the 3 Spread appetizer which could have been a meal unto itself...service was prompt, professional and friendly...and because we live in the neighborhood, it is so nice to have a cozy place that makes us feel like we belong! Cheers!
Delicious food - as always - the duck confit is always good - be careful though of the portion size - in my opinion way too large
We love this place. It is a Beacon Hill gem. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly and professional staff. Always been happy with our meals and visits.
Disclaimer - my visit was the day AFTER Thanksgiving. I hadn’t been back to the Beacon Hill Bistro for a number of years and was prepared for change; that said, I wasn’t ready for THAT MUCH change. The service staff was more unprepared than I had remembered. Everything was a bit slow (they get to you when they can) disorganized and harried (staff seems to be learning the ropes). That said, the brunch food was fine and I like that quaint dining space is still what it is. To management, place DON’T screw up a good thing!!!
Friendly competent service, well managed, nice lighting, comfortable seating.
Great food for a reasonable price. I was there for a birthday dinner with friends, but will definitely be heading back to grab a bite at their bar.
Early breakfast with friends. It was perfect.
We were early for brunch but were seated and enjoying some sparkling wine until the kitchen opened. The oysters were delicious - fresh and briny. The salad frisee with avocado and radishes was tasty and I enjoyed the mussels frites. My daughter enjoyed the french onion soup. Our third had the griddle steak and cheese with mushrooms and enjoyed the whole sandwich - well sized for a hearty eater. We will be back.
lack of attention to detail
overall not a good experience at all
