It’s my all time favorite place and will always go... even though the service is always inconsistent
I think there may be a new chef. The menu choices are no longer as interesting as they used to be. The food was fine but on the expensive side. I was actually really disappointed, but mostly because of what they used to be versus what they are serving now.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here. I arrived early for my reservation and was seated immediately which was nice. The food was fresh and delicious. The ambience is inviting. The staff from the hostess to the waiter and busboys were all fantastic. Nothing but praise.
This is a terrific neighborhood spot. The new ownership has created a very welcoming atmosphere.
This is a nice neighborhood spot with a cozy atmosphere. Over the years, it has had uneven quality, and we have even had rather bad experiences with service and food. I think they are under new management now, and are doing a much better job. Service was excellent, and depending on what you order, food is good. I had Arctic Char, which was cooked very well, although the accompanying vegetables were not great.
Food not like it use to be!!!!!
Can't say I'll go back... to bad great spot with bad quality food
Service and food was great! We walked through the park prior to arrival. It's in a nice location. Very family friendly!
Our 2nd visit to BHB was as good as the first. The mimosas were a good way to start our brunch. We enjoyed the lobster benedict and the apple vanilla french toast. Both portions were generous and tasty. Since it was Easter weekend there were lots of family groups enjoying their meals but the service was good and the restaurant was not noisy.
Food was amazing!!!
This place was great with delicious food. the Pasta was very unique and unlike another dish I had. It was restaurant week, so the service was very slow. but I didn't mind because the wine and atmosphere was great. the waitress was very nice and apologized for it taking so long. overall, i would go back.
Dined our during Dine our Boston week... the lobster bisque was disappointing as I was expecting it to not be a purée type of bisque. There were no chunks of lobster meat to be found. The NY sirloin was a bit tough...the Bolognese however was delicious as were the desserts... specifically the key lime cheesecake and chocolate mousse... Service was good and the staff was attentive.
Wonderful dinner. Loved the choices on the menu.
Our table was uneven, rocked back and forth - drove us crazy or they would have gotten 5 stars.
After waiting 1 hour finally was served our starter and had to ask our server for the bread.
My fiancé and I love Beacon Hill Bistro. It’s always quiet and the food is absolutely delicious. The chicken under a brick is my favorite thing on the menu. The muscles are excellent and the key lime cheesecake is amazing. We’ve made this our go to special occasion spot.
Always tasty and interesting. Quiet, too. A real find.
Interesting brunch options (not just standard eggs and pancakes), relaxed bistro atmosphere, good service. A winner!
Great food nice people and comfortable seating
We had a wonderful experience. Amazing food, delicious cocktails, and top-notch service from the second we walked in the door!
A random find that ended up being great! We were very happy with our brunch meals. It's a great value.
Went there for breakfast two days in a row because the food was so good and atmosphere was delightful. Not to mention, great service and feels like a neighborhood gem. Thanks to Gustavo for taking such good care of us. We stayed at a hotel down the road but next time will stay at Beacon Hill Hotel.
We liked Beacon Hill Bistro for its candle-glowing atmosphere on a wintry evening, coupled with classic bistro food that was well-prepared. The coq au vin, brick flattened chicken, and lobster tagliatelle were excellent. We especially loved the platter of cheeses as a starter which was called "Three Spreads" although we didn't see any spreads. Maybe we received the wrong order? At any rate, it was a large platter with 3 different cheeses, lots of breads, quince paste, honey, and other good things. This isn't a hip spot - instead, go here for a dining room that is perfectly at home in its Beacon Hill location, solidly good food, and quiet conversation.
A little bit too noisy but food was so great! Excellent food!
Love this spot. Come often. Wait staff and service folks are very nice and attentive: Julia, Hector and Gustavo, to name a few.
We have been to this restaurant four or five times over the past year and I always enjoy it so much. The decor is elegant. The service is a nice balance of attentive and not over assertive. The food is always lovely with an elegant presentation that is balanced, again not overly precious. I have loved every dish I have ordered as has my husband. You are greeted in an open smiling manner. On Charles Street this is one of my favorites!!
The Beacon Hill bistro provides an elegant experience for breakfast and or dinner in lovely Charles St in Beacon Hill. Try it soon
The Beacon Hill bistro is reliably good. Food was great and it’s abience is relaxed. Great at any time.
Great dining experience and wonderful bartender, highly recommend.
Great food, service is very on-point, nice quiet atmosphere.
Disappointing, service very slow, food mediocre, fish sandwich was fishy, steak was very chewy in the steak noodle salad, caeser salad was nothing special, we did not stay for dessert. This could be so much better, the menu is nice for a casual dinner, the execution misses on many fronts.
Maybe they were under staffed, but the service needs help, we sat down and did not get waited in for 15 minutes and we sat in front!
My girlfriend and I felt to comfortable with delicious drinks and food! Our server was awesome! A very cozy restaurant ... excellent service from everyone on staff!
Delicious and the service was amazing. Really enjoyed our Lunch! Great flavor and unique flavor pairings and really worked. Drinks were also fantastic!
A lovely way to spend our New Year's Eve anniversary. We usually just stop by for a drink, but decided to try dinner this time. The prix fixe menu offered several choices, and our selections were all wonderful. Great service also, something we have experienced every time.
Really a great place for dinner, and one of us has had several great lunches there as well!
One of the best meals we have had in a long time! Amazing service and lovely atmosphere!
It was a bitterly cold night -I'm almost sure most cancelled their reservations- but the staff was terrific as it would be any other night. They were gracious and let us stay past closing (we were unaware of closing time) to catch up with an old friend. The food was excellent and the wine list incredible. Wonderful place.
I took my special needs daughter with me to the BHB for a late lunch. The service was fantastic with great recommendations. We loved the Meatball appetizer which was perfect for two. Food was great service was even better.
Dissappointing...Christmas Eve..reservations at7pm seated at 7p m..waited for 10 for server ...first course; wrong soup served....still waiting for our main course at 8:30! No explanation given. When we asked waitress said " kitchen problem" We have been to this restaurant 4 Christmas Eve dinners ...likely will look for another place for our most special celebration
Nice menu options, attentive but not intrusive service, excellent value. Can make a meal out of two appetizers. Burger is terrific. Local, not tourist, crowd.
Great food and nice atmosphere, but felt the service could have been a little more attentive. It took about 25-30 minutes after sitting to get our first drinks and we didn’t place our food orders for some time after that. I know I would have at least ordered one more drink and anther plate of food if the server came around a littler more frequently. It didn’t help that our dining neighbors came in 15 minutes after us and received both their drinks and multiple plates of food before us.
I love the BHB and have gone there for years. This was the first time the experience was not perfect. The server was the issue. I will not let his one-off affect future visits.
The Beacon Hill Bistro is my number one pick for dinner or lunch with my girlfriends.
The ambiance is wonderful, with great lighting. The views of Charles St. out the windows is magical, especially at Christmastime. I will be there twice this week! Convenient to the Green Line and Red Line.
