We had an outstanding waiter, and the rest of the staff was truly friendly and accommodating.
BUT, the food was not good, small portions and no decent accompaniments for the entrees. And the prices are too high for what is served.

We've been to this restaurant for brunch and had good experiences with decent food. We will go again for brunch, but definitely not for dinner.

The arugula salad, salmon on a plank, and crab cakes were delish. Attentive waiter. Relaxed atmosphere; not stuffy. Requested beachfront view and were seated outdoors. Got chilly but the heat lamp worked great. Chain-link fence on path in front of beach but lots of palm trees; nice view. Enjoyed the retro 80’s music; wasn’t too loud. Great choice for a special occasion.

I had the worst experience at this restaurant. Got kicked out on my birthday night, which was a Saturday at 10:30 p.m. they didn't even let us finish our bottle of wine which we bought at the restaurant! We were rushed out from the second we stepped in. They didn't even want to let us stay to finish the wine on the terrasse outside by the fire. They turned off the fire outside and left us when it was only 50 degrees outside. Security kept checking on us to make sure we would leave. Worst experience and service. Management was rude and not understanding at all and made my birthday night unpleasant. They didn't even offer compensation on the bill.

We were never warned when making the reservation for 9 that the kitchen closes at 10 and the restaurant at 11 so if you are not done between these times you are kicked out. Never going back there again and definitely do not recommend to anyone.

We went for date night and enjoyed and appreciated Kenny our server. He had great positive energy and made the evening even nicer.

Not crazy about the remodel inside, but at least the menu is still solid. Sitting outside is wonderful. Great views, casual atmosphere. Friendly service and good food. Prices are fair.

Landing in Marina del Rey from the East Coast later in the evening a couple of Saturdays ago, was happy to find a reservation at walk-able from our hotel - Beachside Restaurant. Unfortunately, LA was in a cold spell or would have really enjoyed sitting outside. The Cedar Planked Salmon was delicious and prepared exactly to order, the Charred Shishito Peppers were wonderful, and the Shitake and Basil Turkey Burger was good and filling. We ordered dessert for a change: The Blueberry Cobbler needed more blueberry and sauce; the cheesecake was adequate - beautifully presented. Our only major complaint here is for some reason the chairs scrape across the floor like the scratching across a chalkboard - loud, cringe making and disturbing!

Great service and great food

We made a last minute reservation for lunch on a beautiful sunny Friday. Lovely to sit overlooking the water. Good menu, with plenty of choice and variety. Between the four of us we had a steak salad (generous portion and nicely cooked steak, with lots of salad), a crab, arugula and pine nut salad (delicious and light), pea soup (not quite as expected, looked more like minestrone soup), sushi and calamari (which was a little chewy). We then shared a delicious desert of blueberries, with a crumble topping and vanilla ice cream. Our server was attentive and friendly. We were served promptly, but not rushed. Would recommend and would return.

Met a friend for breakfast and had a fabulous one. Entrée of Scrambled eggs and potatoes with a side of lox. Delicious!

Had a wonderful Sunday brunch at Beachside. The view was wonderful and the service from our waiter Robbie was wonderful. Food was delicious as well. Recommend sitting outside for the full view benefit.

Him a lot of times for things. But the assistant Chad, was fantastic. Very helpful, professional and fantastic service so he made up for the unresponsive waiter (maybe he just had a lot of tables?). Fish tacos and cheeseburger delicious! And the ambiance, waterfront is beautiful. Best in the Marina! We will definitely go again.

This restaurant is located at Jamaica Bay Inn and has just been renovated. The service was not up to what we've previously experienced. One party has a gluten allergy and even after telling the server, they brought the order which contained wheat. Glad we spotted it! Server never came back to check nor apologized for the error. Prices are much higher than previous Happy Hour. They need to pay for the renovation somehow...

If you love sitting outside at the beach this is the place for you. The food, cocktails and whole vibe are great

My friend and I go to the Beachside often for our regular Saturday breakfast. Normally, everything is very good, however this time the service was horrible. We were half way through our breakfast before we got our coffee and had to ask a couple times for a refill. Hopefully, yesterday was a fluke.

We each had delicious salads. The salads were presented beautifully and the flavorings were unique and impressive. The outdoor seating is delightful. Service was attentive and unobtrusive.

My wife and I dined at Beachside during a recent stay in Marina del Rey. We were very happy we dined here. Both our entrees, fettuccini with shrimp and lemon chicken were delicious and our server, Rebekah, was helpful with suggestions and attentive throughout the evening. Also, save room for dessert. The chocolate cake is fantastic if you're a chocoholic like us. We'll return when we're in the area.

The food wasn't bad, but the service was beyond slow. At one point it seemed that our server had forgotten us. A very limited menu (both regular dinner and happy hour).

We had not been here for some time due to experiences with slow service. We were here 2 weeks ago and again this Friday and we had an absolutely wonderful dining experience. Service was completely attentive but not overly so. Becka, our server, was helpful and very good. The food was extremely excellent, particularly the Salmon. You can't beat the outside ambiance. We will be back.
