BeachHouse bar + grill Ratings and Reviews
We have patronized this restaurant several times and have been happy with lunch, dinner & happy hour. This time we met friends for brunch and weren't as pleased. Very crowded, noisier than usual and food not as good. Food tasted as though it had been under a lamp for awhile. Every place is entitled to an off day so I would go back. I would reconsider though, if the next time didn't meet expectations.
So disappointed this visit. Waitress was terrible. We waited forever for service. Our drinks took a long time to arrive and when our food finally arrived it was cold...crab eggs benedict is not good cold. Also took 20 minutes to get our check. Sadly this is my last visit.
Servicer was somewhat novice, but OK. Had to ask for service a couple of times when it wasn't offered. Overall, though very pleasant place with high ceiling open atmosphere. All tables appear to have a view of Lake Washington. It is not quiet; due to the architecture, sound carries, but you can carry on a conversation. That is more than you can say about many restaurants!
Food was good; well seasoned, not overseasoned or overly fatty. Great chocolate dessert!
We dined here for Mother's Day. The service was very good and the food was delicious with a lovely view to enjoy. My only issue was the restaurant is not handicap friendly. We brought my elderly mother who uses a walker. We thought we won the lottery when the only handicap parking spot right in front of the restaurant was open. But there was a reason why it was open. We must of been the only ones who didn't realize it wasn't handicap friendly inside. The restroom is upstairs, tiny and with no handicap stall. It was challenging to say the least for my mom. Also, there are stairs to get to the dining tables. Now, for people without any handicap issues, the place is great, but for others with handicapped family members or friends, be forewarned.
We chose this location for Mother's Day brunch, the service was very slow once we were seated. Our family of three was sat before two other tables who received immediate attention. Not a single employee asked if we had been helped or if we had questions, mind you the restaurant was still relatively slow at this point. I actually had to ask the host who our server was and if we could get some help. When our waitress dis show up she asked what we wanted to drink and if we were ready to order... no good morning, do you have any questions nothing, this was quite surprising especially for the area in which the restaurant is located. We ordered our drinks and food which came out relatively quickly and was delicious. But again our waitress was busy off somewhere else and someone else helped get us our check. I had high expectations for this restaurant and was a bit let down. I am curious to come back and see if it is different for dinner.
My wife and I dined at The Beachhouse for Mother's Day. This restaurant was our #1 choice for Mother's Day because it is lakeside and has a great view. We also wanted to walk in beautiful downtown Kirkland after brunch.
We had the 1st reservation available for that Sunday, 9:00am. Even though they had just opened we still had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. Though there were plenty of lakeside tables available, our server tried to seat us at an 'upper-level' booth. She graciously sat us lakeside but only after my request.
Our service was good, food was mediocre (my entree was lukewarm), drinks were good. The biggest challenge for us was going upstairs to use the 'facilities'. I feel like the bathroom is often a reflection of what the kitchen might be like. (erroneous or not). This men's room is in great need of an update, new paint, new design, and appeared 'dirty'. In fact, the whole upstairs appeared old and dirty (storage closet open, stuff all over the closet floor, paint needed everywhere, etc.). I am not a snob, but seriously,... it left a bad impression! I feel like I owe it to the restaurant (and future customers), a little paint and attention to detail will go a long way to this restaurant's overall appeal.
The food was somewhat mediocre, mainly due to its disappointing quality (poor cuts of beef, bacon, and chicken). Ambiance is nice, brunch is decent, but dinner was below average. Worse though, the male server had a bad attitude and seemed to be trying to avoid our table entirely.
Decided to go out to lunch. Server didn't come to table til almost 5min later after being sat. Drinks didn't arrive til 10 min after order. Food was tasty however asked for steak temp as medium. Came rare & I sent it back to cook longer. Asked for another drink. A server assistant dropped "randomly" not looking to see who was drinking what. Server had no personality. Everyone working FOH seemed like they didn't want to be working that Sunday. We won't be returning anytime soon.... especially at $75.00 for bad service.
It's no fun to be told it'll be 20 minutes past your reservation time until a table is ready, but I get being busy. But to then get seated and be walked past many times, no greeting, no water, no NOTHING! I'm talking at least 10 minutes of this. To then see a couple that came in after us, seated next to us and get immediate service is beyond irritating. That server acknowledged us finally but only after we stood up to leave. We told her why and was told simply "nobody told me". We are not actually invisible obviously but to this place we were. Guess we don't look not rich enough to belong there, that's the vibe we got. Even on the way out I told the hostess why we were leaving and was basically told "sorry about that". My email to the restaurant explaining the day, at this time has still been unanswered. We like this place, we live within walking distance, but that was probably our last time going unfortunately.
We enjoyed the food at our recent lunch at the Beachhouse Grill and appreciated the waiter/kitchen serving a smaller portion of an entrée. We didn’t like being treated as second-class senior citizens. Even though we had a reservation and there were plenty of open tables, we were seated at the poorest table in the restaurant next to a fussy toddler. A waitress insisted on going ahead of me up the stairs twice and didn’t even say Thanks. We had to take our bill/credit card to the hostess because we couldn’t get the waiter to pick it up. And…worst of all, the only restroom was up a steep flight of stairs. We will NOT return.
Went there based on previous reviews being very good. Brussel spout appetizer was what appeared to be uncooked brussel sprouts with bacon and bacon grease on them. Spicy shrimp were sooo hot they almost inedible. Told the waiter they were really too hot was told that's why they call them spicy shrimp. Kinda rude. Everything else mediocre, including the service. Really cool place, hope it was just an off day.
Can't beat the view! Food was very good, service a bit inattentive compared to previous visits there. Missed a few items we ordered, our meals came out at different times (awkward), our waitress disappeared for a good amount of time which we found frustrating. But overall, a nice restaurant in a beautiful setting.
