BeachHouse bar + grill Ratings and Reviews
My wife ordered her steak medium rare and it came well done. When we sent it back the new steak came purple and cold in the middle as if the chef were making a statement. Service was mediocre at best, just not a friendly vibe at all, more like we were lucky to be there. Was very disappointed.
I come here often (at least once a week) with my two daughters 10 and 11. They have a great kids menu. We look forward to when the fix the air conditioning as that has been most unpleasant during my past two visits. We do miss the "placemat" kids menu that comes with crayons. Not a deal breaker. Would recommend to a friend for food and view.
Dinner was good, the special of the day (Halibut) was excellent. Fish and chips where average at best. Outdoor dining was OK, really not a lot of ambiance. Also, need better placement of the umbrellas to provide more shade (but I guess that's a personal preference). Waitress was pretty poor (maybe new), wasn't very well up to date on what was being offered.
We met for lunch to celebrate a friend's retirement and birthday. Four of us. As requested in my reservation, we were seated at a window. Enthusiastic, warm and attentive server. Two of us had the clams w/ pesto - much enjoyed. My salmon was grilled perfectly. Fish 'n chips - chips a bit over-fried, but still tasty. All in all, much enjoyed. Definite lunch recommendation.
My boyfriend and I were just looking for a new outdoor place to eat given the fabulous Seattle weather we've been having. We chose BeachHouse because it was on my Passport discount card but ended up in the bar for their all day Monday happy hour. Even though we weren't outside we had great views of the water, park, and volleyball games. I loved the quirky restaurant design and there was plenty of outdoor tables had we stuck with our original plan. The food and drinks were delicious, I recommend the pork tacos and sticky wings. Service was slow and inconsistent but luckily we weren't in a rush. We will definitely go back.
I really wanted to enjoy my meal here, the location is great with a water front view. But it's really hard to eat without a fork and it took so long to get such a simple item (over 15 minutes) our food was cold by the time we were actually able to eat it. That said, I would go back just keep in kind it's more bar than restaurant in terms of service.
First, our open table reservation didn't work. They had no idea who I was. Luckily, not that many people were there for lunch and I learned why after about 1/2 hour of being there. Service was slow and the waitress was obsequious and the food was just ok. The prices were through the roof for the quality of food and service. Despite the beautiful views, I will not be going back.
I took out of town guests to dinner at the BeachHouse B&G. Superb view, excellent service, delicious food. The server checked in with us regularly but allowed us a long conversation, no pressure to move along. Fabulous food: crab cakes, seafood alfredo, sole, sirloin sandwich… My guests had a wonderful time and so did I.
We enjoy the walk to this local restaurant, and its close proximity to both the lake (with a small outdoor dining space) and a local sand volleyball court. The food is good, not great, and the people friendly. The only restroom is upstairs, so not handicapped friendly. On summer afternoons, weekdays and weekends, the restaurant is so busy and the bar so noisy that we tend not to go!
I reserved a spot for 5 which was the maximum they allowed for a reservation, strangely, but made a note that I actually had 6 coming for lunch. There was a place set for 6 when I arrived. But I asked if we could be seated outside. They scrambled to make a place for use even though they hadn't really opened their outdoor patio yet. The service was a tad slow, but I chalk that up to our being outside and way around a corner and easy to forget. But the wait staff was super friendly and pleasant. The food was wonderful. It was refreshing to be sitting right next to the lake with the waves lapping nearby. It was a great experience.
I know it's commonplace in America for restaurants to get you in and out of their establishment as fast as possible, but I really prefer to enjoy my time out, especially on a date or with a group of friends. The waiter came every couple minutes asking if we were ready to order. The only time they should be quick is getting the bill back to you (which they were). The food was good and they played fun pop music so it was a little more energetic of a restaurant which I liked
We arrived and couldn't find any parking near by (the beach next door was filled, so I assume that was why) ended up parking down the street. Our table had an awesome view of the restaurant and tv so it was nice to people watch. Artichoke hearts were not appetizing, we had the beach house burger and veggie burger and it wasn't anything special. Never had our drinks refilled...disappointing since we were both quite thirsty.. We probably won't return. The bar seemed to have better service.
I have been 3 times now and every time my family and I have come, it has been awesome!! Great food, great service, and beautiful views. I love that it is not super fancy so you don't need to worry about what you are wearing. Brought my Mom in for Mother's Day brunch (1 day early) and she loved every minute of it. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!!
The BeachHouse Bar and Grill gets good marks for the excellent server who took care of our party of 7 with no delays. He was very attentive. The food is fine - tasty, plentiful, and well-prepared. I'd call it "standard" brunch fare. The only down side was the noise level - we really couldn't carry on much of a conversation. The view of Lake Washington is stupendous!
I was not greeted when approaching the check in desk even though there were three employees at the counter. I had to say excuse me I have a reservation and would like to check in before anyone would make eye contact with me after standing at the counter for several minutes. We ordered an appetizer in the bar while waiting for our table only to bite into ice cold crab cakes. The waiter didn't apologize just mumbled he would replace them. Even with a reservation our table wasn't available on time and by the time we were able to be seated we were told it was too late for outdoor seating, as we had request. Our dinner was overcooked and bland, and our service was terrible from beginning to end. What we paid did not equate to what we received.
Ok, I get that it was a busy evening (one of those sunny early spring days), but we literally had to get up and search for our waiter a couple of times. Also, it's never fun when your app and mains are delivered within 2 minutes of each other. Otherwise, the food was pretty darn good, and the view couldn't have been better. Hopefully they get the service in gear before summer.
My husband and I were interested in a waterfront dinner on a Friday, so we decided to give BeachHouse a try. We made a reservation through OpenTable and were seated right away. The dining area felt small and somewhat cramped. The service was probably the worst I have received. No single server seemed to be in charge of our table. We were only provided with one set of silverware--even after our salad arrived no one noticed we were sharing a fork. We needed, at various points during the meal: another set of silverware, more napkins, more ketchup, and another drink. Dessert was not offered. The burger, ordered medium, arrived rare, but no one asked how our food was, so there was no opportunity to send it back. Not planning to return.
We took our extended family for a Thursday evening dinner. They did accomplish to get all 7 of us in a booth, but we had a great time. The food was mostly awesome, though the fish and chips said battered on the menu, but just came to us with a light panko crust-so was a little underwhelming. The rest of the food was great! The service was attentive. And the view and location rock!
Been to the beachhouse many times. Usually get the burger, french dip or the like. Just what you would expect from a "bar and grill" - well prepared with excellent fries. On my last visit I thought I would explore the rest of the menu. Was a mistake. Paella was really just under seasoned gummy rice with tough seafood and chicken. The seafood chowder was thin and watery, like all the good stuff had been strained out. Thankfully the servers and staff are friendly and the view is still nice. Next time back to the burger and fries.
I found our recent visit to BeachHouse Bar & Grill to be so good, we will return. The service was outstanding and the food was served quickly. The steak salad was especially good. I had the fish & chips which was pretty standard but good. Prices are very reasonable and the ambience was excellent, we will return!
Our experience started with the hostess arguing with us about when our open table reservation was - she said we were 40 mins late, but we were actually only 10 minutes late. I apologized for our tardiness and showed her my phone confirmation and she told me she would have to see if she can even seat us, and said open table reservations always give them problems (i have never had any problems). She agreed to seat us but tried to seat us at a dirty table with a view of a pole. I asked if we would be able to sit at any of the other plethora of open tables and she agreed to seat us at a clean table without a pole in front of it. The food was average and the service was slow.
