Super good food, exceptional service from Ryan. Unique experience, definite do again. Fantastic sunset!
Great restaurant on a beautiful beach, hard to beat!
It was our Anniversary and needless to say, we were looking for a special place, to ensure it would be memorable. First off, Wes was our server and he was GREAT! Second, the food was AMAZING, very FLAVORFUL! And last, you can’t go wrong with the view! We’ll definitely be coming back.
Again- just wonderful. They don’t change their menu often but that’s ok. Food is constantly excellent. Always enjoy going here
FABULOUS!!! We got everything we wanted and more! Again... what a fabulous place!!!
I always come down from San Francisco Bay Area to help celebrate my friends birthday. We always come here. Ambiance, food are fantastic and the service is outstanding
Wonderful!! We’re from Utah and never miss a chance to eat here when in beautiful Newport. Our server was charming and attended to our every need. Don’t miss visiting this quaint, delicious, unique place.
Servers are attentive n nice, with full of smiles of their faces. Food are wonderful! The view is breathtaking, the beach is literally under ur feet!!
Parking was so confusing almost gave up so glad we didn’t - breakfast was very good
This is such a great step back in time to what California was like in the 60's.....it has now been discovered and at times, particularly in the summer months, it becomes almost a chore to begin to enjoy what it is really like during the 'quiet' months. I still love it but choose my visits carefully now. The parking at Crystal Cove is probably the most expensive of any state park but fortunately the restaurant will validate your parking. What rubs me, however, is that the shuttle bus from the parking lot down to the beach is now $1.50 per person - for a recent visit I left $18 behind for the short trip for our group. The restaurant has no control over this but it just seems an overpriced 'nickel and dime' airline trick. Take the trail when you can and skip the shuttle. I like breakfast here more than anything. Service is always wonderful. Prices have increased considerably over the years but still worth the splurge , particularly when you take 'non-locals' so they can ooh and awe over the setting.
Came here for our 24th anniversary, great place and table with ocean view. Staff is always pleasant and happy, Jeff who served us always make sure if we need anything. Food is delicious we like the pork chop dish. Will come back again for sure.
We are enjoyed the time in the restaurant, food is good , love the ocean view and great service.
Lisa was an amazing server. We really loved her! She was not only friendly she offered great ideas and options.
Great beachside dining with friendly servers and staff, makes for a great weekend breakfast
Visited with my wife and another couple last Friday night during OC Restaurant Week. Three of us had the short ribs on gorgonzola ravioli and loved it. Short ribs were tender, delicious and absolutely no fat. My wife had the arctic char and was also very impressed.
Love the Beachcomber and already made a reservation for the next Birthday celebration.
First time, can't wait to go back. Walk down shuttle up.
poor service, very indifferent host. never spoke, just pointed to a table and set menus. she was more into sweeping the steps. server was nice, what i saw of her, for he high price i expected better service. if they want to keep charging so much they better step it up. we were there for my daughters birthday and she brought a nice dessert
Beautiful location literally on the beach. Great authentic beach ambiance with live music, sunset views and excellent service. Menu was varied and food quality was good. Excellent dinner service from Jimmy who was professional and thoughtful and helped make our evening special.
It’s always a great time at the Beachcomber and when you have a terrific server like Veronica ready to enjoy the evening with our small group, all the better! Can’t wait to go back!
We enjoyed our lunch while sitting here almost on the sand. After a great lunch we walked on the beach and than took the tram back to the state beach parking lot. Tram cost a $1.50 per person each way but parking is free with dining validation.
My sister was in town (San Diego) from Tampa, Florida. We went to Newport for the day. This restaurant was recommended to us. It was SO disappointing. I had the Chicken cobb salad. No egg, cheese, ham, turkey. What kind of a cobb salad was that? My sister had the shrimp tacos. She said hers was good. We were SO close to the next table we could have been sitting together. It was very uncomfortable. Our table was dirty. The slats in the table were filthy. Our server was very good. We felt for him having to constantly maneuver between the very tight tables. Basically, we could have gotten a much better meal elsewhere and not have had to wait forever for a table. We also could have went elsewhere and not have had to sit like sardines. The food elsewhere could have been at least as good if not better. No, I won't be going back.
We love EVERYTHING about the Beachcomber except the new boring baguette that has now replaced the absolute BEST ever thick cut ciabatta garlic bread. We always order the garlic bread first to enjoy with our cocktails. We talk about it on the drive to the restaurant, but no more! Very disappointed it’s not on the otherwise fantastic menu! 😭😭😭
Family get together
Rainy night date. A little cold in spots but food was great
Service was excellent as well as the food. Regally neat location. Can miss place.
We have been there before and we're very happy that they now accept reservations online. The food is fresh and tasty. We happened on a Thursday and had Wonderful Life music with Matt from Hawaii. My husband even bought a CD. we enjoyed it so much the next day we went for a breakfast! Just as good
We retuned to the Beachcomber for another excellent dining experience. We will continue to return whenever we return to the area. We have enjoyed the food and the excellent service. To add to the experience we had another beautiful sunset to watch.
So special! Phillip our server was amazing. We had friends from Ohio in for a visit and the goal was to watch sunset at the beach. That was a win, they got to raise the Martini flag, the food and the drinks were food wonderful. Can’t wait to go back since there were to many things in the menu I need to the!
Arrived earlier than my reservation yet we were shown a table immediately, which was nice. The waiter was attentive and encouraged us to go as slowly as we wanted as we had bought a bottle of wine. The food was good with some unique choices. Enjoyed our time here and will be back.
Beautiful Setting that made dining extraordinary...
It’s a great atmosphere on the beach watching the sunset. The food is overpriced for what you get. It’s unbelievable that you have to pay $1.50 each way to ride their shuttle to and from the parking lot! When we went there four years ago it was free and tips were given to the driver! Why not just add it into the cost of the already overpriced menu?!
View during sunset was amazing!
Fun place for breakfast on the beach. Good food & service, but seating areas. Would recommend for group of 4 or less. There were 6 of us & they squeezed in a very small low round table next to a 4top.
The Beachcomber is always a treat to visit. The location alone is worth going but the delicious food is an added bonus. Make sure to make a reservation. Although they do take walkins you might have a long wait.
Loved this place! The steak chilaquiles were delicious!!!!
Wonderful experience! Fabulous service! Max was the best! He made our night extra special! The food was fantastic! We'll be back!
We each loved our drinks and our food. We ordered The Beachcomber, the Pimms Cup, the Blackberry Margarita, and the Watermelon Mojito. They were all fantastic. We ate the lobster sandwich, tri tip sandwich, turkey panini, and the kobe burger, and all were delicious.
