Poor service, so loud you could hardly have a conversation. Food rushed out. Usually good experience, but this time was not good at all
It was a Bon Voyage lunch for friends who were leaving for Florida for the winter. We all managed to find a selection on the menu but some were disappointed in there being no brunch items. We were told brunch is now served at the channel club.
Was very displeased with my meal. The mahi mahi was served with what was I’m sure canned cream corn and was extremely bland. The banana creme pie wasn’t that at all. It was just sliced bananas on a chocolate crust covered in whipped creme. Over $400 for a table if 4 with only two diners who drink alcohol. Save your money. This place is overpriced for what you get.
Everything we ordered delicious. Lobster roll, fish and chips, Blood Orange Old Fashion!
Consistently good! Oysters were well shucked and cold, shrimp ceviche was zesty and delicious, steak entree is a must. For a spicy treat, try the buffalo octopus. Menu is diverse and reasonably priced.
Food was delicious & service great.
Nice atmosphere as well.
Would highly recommend.
Uninteresting menu so I ordered a hamburger for my dinner. Disappointing.
This was our first time there. It was a spur of the moment choice and we're glad we made it. The food was very good. The service excellent. Everything moved at a fast pace, which was fine. Nice atmosphere. We're already planning when we can go back.
Wiater "Junior" was amazing. Drinks were great. Food was just okay.. Nicely prepared but not much in the taste department. Really nice place, and beautiful views.
Our server was fantastic
After checking if they were opening because of the weather we drove almost two hours to find out the restaurant was taking in water and was closed. Would have appreciated if I was contacted earlier.
My past experience at restaurant was excellent.
This was our first trip back since mid-summer (abysmal experience, including getting our table 1.5 hours after our reservation, a non existent waitress, and the manager basically serving us while I got our drinks from from the bar). I am well aware that the service industry has been struggling - to put it mildly, and this area is incredibly busy in the summer season.
Therefore, I was pleasantly surprised last night when we had an experience at Beach Tavern that was much more like what I had come to know and love. We got cocktails at the bar while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive, and the bartender was personable and made a great Manhattan and dirty martini.
We were sat at our reservation time. I was disappointed that they seem to have removed their steak tartare off the appetizers menu; it was one of my favorite items on the menu. However, we started with six East Coast and six West Coast oysters that were absolutely fresh and delicious! We also split a clam pizza, which sounds odd, but was incredibly flavorful and the crust was cooked to perfection. Entrees is included the steak frites (steak wasn’t super flavorful, but it was juicy and perfectly medium rare), the moules frites, and the tuna niçoise salad that I love so dearly. The cocktails were well balanced and of high-quality. And unfortunately we didn’t have any room for dessert, since I truly love the pistachio gelato. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, and it was a breath of fresh air compared to the last time we visited.
Can’t wait to come back.
Bathrooms broke. Drinks were watered down. Was disappointed. I love this place but not yesterday
One of the best locations in Monmouth County. Outdoor dock dining is pleasant and staff are outstanding.
Food was good, nice atmosphere, very beachy. Was very expensive for the amount of food, the alcohol prices were ridiculous
Food was just okay and a pricey for what you get. Just the spaghetti was $32 and no dinner salad. Waiter was ok.
Service is Godawful. Worse I’ve had anywhere in at least 10 years. Ordered a dozen oysters for appetizer. Never got them. Beer tap was broken. No draft available. Changed to bottled beer. Got them almost half hour later. Young staff throughout. Seemed like the customers were a burden to them. Friends tell me it’s been like this for a few years even with new ownership. Won’t return any time soon.
Great outdoor experience / needs more coordinate service staff due to slow food delivery. Beautiful on dock palm tree island feeling.
Shrimp, lobster, crab meat were excellent. The outside dining was a pleasant experience. I felt like I was in Florida for a October day.
Tasteless food. Bad service
Beautiful location. Good food. Very dissatisfied with the service. Our waitress was not friendly or welcoming. Not sure I would go there again anytime soon.
Love the setting- food was good - our server was good however the hostess was terrible and had a nasty attitude
Best view around! Oliver our server was excellent! Our go to place because service is always excellent Ambiance is unbeatable and food is consistently delicious.
Dinner was outstanding! And so was the service, unfortunately, something must have happened near the end of our service. I was waiting for a cocktail for 15+ minutes it never came, nor an offer for dessert. It’s a shame because we loved our entree’s ( eggplant and hot chicken. We will still be repeat customers though!
Great place for any occasion , quick bite to romentic dinner
Our drinks came 20 minutes after our meals were served. I felt like we are in a fast food restaurant. I realize that restaurants are short handed, but the server should have realized not to put our dinner orders in until we at least had our cocktails. Not a relaxing evening. While we were still eating, server twice came by to ask we wanted anything else. Seemed like he was in a rush to have us leave.
The food was very good. From the cocktails to the amazing fried chicken and the cheeseburger and fries. A little pricey, but good food. The service was good. They are a bit short staffed, as are most establishments due to the pandemic work shortage. Also, loved our cocktails!!!
The ambiance is nice . We sat outdoor . Apparently indoors was crowded . The food was good . I wish the service was better . I hardly saw my server . I’m understanding places are understaffed.
I would return for a lunch or maybe service would be better inside .
Overall not bad enough for me to not return
LOVE IT will go again. Junior was a great server.
Slow service, never got bread, took very long to get water.. food average
Met with new manager, Jack, for an upcoming party.
He was great.
Sarah and Ryan, our servers, were awesome.
Love coming here. Thank you again!
It was a wonderful experience. Thank You so much, cant wait to come back :)
I took my niece and her husband here and we sat on the dock for lunch it was amazing!
You cannot beat the view or ambience at this restaurant. We ate outside on a perfect fall day, and it was absolutely lovely.
This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide wine list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.
pleasant experience, great food and great service. The view is beautiful. Had reservations and sat us immediately. Would highly recommend.
We were so disappointed with our dining experience. We waited a half hour before our order was even taken. Then to charge $15 for a plate of pasta for my kids and for a drink? That’s preposterous. Ordered lobster for $42 and it was half a tail. Total rip off. Will never eat there again.
The restaurant has nice views and the atmosphere is nice. That’s about it. The food is terrible. I would rate it lower than one star. Everything we ordered was garbage and at high prices. No flavor, pathetic portion size and low quality. The service was also terrible. This place is a money grab. Do not water your time. There are so many better options in the area.
Service was not great and when asked for special requests we were told yes but they were not accommodated.
Beautiful day, lovely setting, good food.
