Beach House Restaurant at Lovers Point Ratings and Reviews
We chose Beach House around a visit to the Monterey area to attend the AT&T pro-am mainly for the location and view. We were definitely not disappointed. It was a wonderful location. The real bonus was the experience inside the restaurant. The food and service were both terrific. If we're ever back in the Monterey area, we'll add it to the list of restaurants that we'll definitely visit. I would recommend it to anyone.
The Beach House is my go to place on the peninsula. It has a great Happy hour menu that is second to none. The sand dabs are my favorite but the salmon is a close second. And then there is the view! Lovers Point, the blue pacific and sunsets cannot be matched. Wrap this all up with great service and ambiance and it makes for a perfect dinner out.
Anniversary dinner. Best New York steak my husband has ever had and he’s eaten many! Excellent salmon as well. Loved the veggies! Wait staff was helpful and quick to task. The view from the solarium was outstanding. Only complaint preventing five stars was the wide window ledge right beside the table was very, very dirty. We had to look right across it to see the view- not good. Really enjoyed our meal and time there.
The hostess got us a special corner window table. Our salad & soup were outstanding. Our entrees were some of the best we’ve had anywhere. Great swordfish with Parmesan risotto & asparagus. Lovely sandabs.
Great service & ambiance. Truly perfect evening!
We had such a wonderful experience! We sat in the bar area with the booths and had the best waitress ever! We didn’t even go for the view because we had such a great waitress! Food and drinks were awesome! We got there for happy hour/early bird - great food and great price!
This was my second visit to Beach House and it was definitely worth a second trip! The bread they bring to the table was piping hot and SO good. The very best part though was the beef stroganoff! I will go back whenever in town just for that dish. The best I've ever had!
I would definitely recommend this restaurant for competent service, good value on dining, especially during the hours between 4:00 and 5:30 when there is a respectable early-bird type menu for some pretty reasonable prices on tasty meals. Should make a reservation. Folks line up starting at opening.
We were on vacation in Pacific Grove and had dinner here. It's off season and we goth there about 7:45, so getting a table was easy. Also, the noise level decreased as the meal progressed.
One thing we noticed was the wine pricing was quite reasonable. The menu items were on the high side, but very tasty and well presented. All in all a very good meal and atmosphere.
Sunset menu very good & affordable ,good house wine. I often get the salmon, but tried the pork chop👍🏻 Delicious, warm bread.
For desert I enjoyed the chocolate pot de creme. The mud pie my daughter had was freezer burned (I didn't know it was to after we left).
Deserts are pricey.
Very good, friendly service.
View very nice, food rather ordinary. However the Sunset Supper, up to 5:30 pm, is a real bargain---about 1/2 price for choice of 5 or 6 entrees. That said the food in that category wasn't that interesting or well prepared, though it was edible. On balance I'd recommend this restaurant to people looking for a view who are willing either to go before 5:30 and have a limited choice, or to pay a premium price if they dine later and choose from a wider menu.
There are a lot of good food choices, and the portions are generous. I had the Sand Dabs which had a panko crusting and were crispy but not overcooked at all. This was a better version than other sand dab preparations with an egg batter in my opinion. The location is just wonderful. There's a great early diner menu if you don't mind eating early. Another nice feature is a reasonably priced wine list. Definitely recommend this place - it's always on my list when coming to the Monterey area.
We had a 7:30 reservation on the Saturday on a 3 Day weekend. There were many groups in the lobby when we arrived 5 min. early. None of these people had reservations. All of these groups were seated before us, and we were seated 25 minutes after our reservation. We were seated not in the main dining room, but on a covered porch, with space heaters, but we were all still cold. The waiter was rushed, and broke the water glasses at the table. He then ignored us. We waited a long time to order and even longer for our food. Tables seated after us were served first and finished before we did. The food was only average. Nothing was remarkable about this restaurant. We frequently visit Pacific Grove but will not return to this restaurant.
